    Hello Melissa, thanks for your clarifications and comparisons, that helps a lot. I have a Silhouette Cameo 5 right now and, yes, it works, but not in a big flow, since I really miss constancy on its process. Definitely it is a precise machine, but you cannot trust on it, talking about consistency, since today it is cutting perfectly, but tomorrow, same setting, same materials, it stops cutting same depth (or it does not cut the whole page on the same way). It's complicated. It is always a "process" every time a new job comes in. I feel the blade loses the sharpening quite fast after several (laminated) cuts - let's say, after 30 A4 pages in average (and I don't have time to RE-discover settings on each new job I have, as it was doing full cuts at first, as desired, after same presets lead to kiss cuts, and later they are not even enough already - pain!).
    So, for those reasons I am really thinking about migrating to a Roland BN-20A maybe. But what you said on video's last part, concerning the cut marks (contour), took me by surprise! So, you are saying the VERSA Studio, that comes together with it, does not have the function to generate the cut lines, as Silhouette Studio for example? So I will have to it outside the main controller/software, could you confirm? =(
    Thank you! Cheers

      Yes with the Roland BN-20A you need to generate cut lines in another software. This could be a combination of Silhouette Studio and affinity. This video will show you that process: ua-cam.com/video/P6WJGv04H48/v-deo.html It could be Illustrator or Corel Draw. The newer model BN2-20A and BN2-20 include Flexi designer software for Verwaworks that auto generates cut lines for VW and you can print and cut directly from Flexi. This video will show you that process: ua-cam.com/video/TFHxwo7Xlgg/v-deo.html

    Oh my goodness you’re a mind reader. We were just talking about this machine!

    Actually the price of BN-20A now is making more sense, because even with BN2 I find it very hard to justify close to 7K plus VAT for those machines, because at this price range you can get the considerable bigger (and faster from the BN, not sure about BN2) Mimaki at 80cm that get more standard material sizes and can print some thicker ones too.
    Maybe I will reconsider the BN-20A now.

    After you print, will I still need to laminate it for the BN2? if not, how do ink hold up with out being laminated

      You don't HAVE to laminate, but you can. I don't ever laminate. The ecosolvent ink is very scratch and fade resistant. Unless you're making stickers that need to be made thicker with laminate or you need UV protection, I don't usually find it necessary to laminate

    If I do not have ethernet at my house, can I still use the machine, and if so, would an adapter be the thing I need to use to convert from USB to ethernet? And can you share a link to buy the adaptor if that is what I need to use. Or would I have to stick with the BN-20 instead of the BN2-20? Shopping cart is loaded and dont want to buy something I would not be able to use without ethernet.

    i love following your channel and also replying back to your subscribers so fast. Your videos have been the most helpful since I got my bn20a a few days ago!
    So we can't subscribe to flexi and use it with bn20a? I hope I can make enough profit to upgrade to the bn2-20a this year.

      Unfortunately at this point, no, Flexi is not available for BN-20A or BN-20

    Having an Ethernet port practically makes it wireless.. all you need is a WiFi extender. That’s how I “converted” my Sawgrass SG400 into wireless.

    Do you think they will ever make flexi designer available for the BN-20s

      @SilhouetteSchool  6 місяців тому +1

      I have been pushing for it since before the BN2 was released. I am hoping eventually it will be available to purchase as an add on for the BN-20/A series

    Hello Melissa l, I have a question, the print and cutting setting on verse works, my bn-20 isn’t recognizing the crop marks on halo media? Is it user error or does this machine not read off of halo media?

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  6 місяців тому +1

      It can be difficult to read on that type of material if there's any type of glare or reflection

    I’ve sold over 10k stickers in the last six months using a cameo 4 and an Epson et8500, that BN20 is looking good!

      That's crazy good. It's time to move up to the Roland BN2. Will be worth the time saved, because time IS money. Wish you continued success.

    You want to say so much things that you talk too fast and you fail to say "CLEARLY" the prices of everything. You're not only talking to Americans but... the rest of the world so... don't say "grants" relating to prices please and... say "slowly" and "clearly" the prices of the printing rolls, the mask roll and the price of EACH color cartridges please ! LOL
