These bloody things catch me out enough to make me respect them as a virtual fighter pilot! Love the style to the video. Researching for myself! Nice one.
I really want to get into the Gazelle again mate, Did some multi crew but its been about 5 years easy that i was useless. Glad to see the procedure is still easy to start and look forward to seeing the rest of this series
Yeah, because content for the Gazelle was not existing. It's not a "real" combat helicopter and also not a transport helicopter. On ECW Server it got a huge boost because you can fly it now as a A/A armed recon troop transporting helo, it's great now, so give it a try. Also try the "Combat Order" free campaign, one of the only good content for the Gazelle.
Enjoy your tutorials. Good and Thorough. I am using them to learn the AV8B. The gazelle is one of my favorites that I fly a lot. Ever since the last update I have been unable to fly the gazelle as I cannot bind my collective axis to my Virpil CM3 throttle. It looks like it is working in the controls menu, but in game the collective stays stuck in mid axis, no good at all. All my other modules work fine, no problem at all. Is anyone else having this trouble?
Hey Deephack, I just patched my Gazelle campaign. IPad off because it's in the Falkland War. The South Atlantic map got also a patch, with changes in some areas the campaign take place. I am a campaign creator and a bad pilot, I already was able to test the half of the campaign. If you are interested I can send the patched campaign to you, maybe you can integrate it into the Gazelle videos and help with a look if everything is still working. *All my campaigns are results of my hobby, 100% no financial interests.
AFAIK (RL youtube videos) the starter switch is left in the "ON" position in flight and would only be moved to OFF/ARRET to shut down the engine/turbine after the fuel flow lever has been moved to Minimum/ground idle. ua-cam.com/video/cdEgOyauTR4/v-deo.html
I based this procedure on the changelog which suggests that it is correct to switch it off. I don't know what procedure or information they base this from though. www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/ "Improved: Starter switch can now correctly be placed in ‘OFF/ARRET’ position once fuel is flowing"
@@deephack The fixed issue was that with the Fuel Flow Lever at maximum - switching the starter switch to OFF/ARRET would shut down the engine while in flight. When the dev's checked their 342 "starter switch" documentation, it said that for ARRET to shut down the engine, the fuel flow lever needed to be at Minimum - this was fixed.
@@deephack Currently hot started Gazelles spawn with the "Starter Switch" set to ARRET - the dev's have said it's likely an error and will be fixed by a later patch (assuming they don't receive SME feedback to the contrary)
@@Ramsay58 That makes sense as the starter does dis-engage correctly with the switch in M as evidenced by the starter light. As such no point in putting the switch into A unless shutting down.
Yeah I've experienced this too although not as bad as you describe. I can't decide if it's the cockpit or the rotor but if I look outside and zoom in my fps and choppiness improve a lot.

That is strange, I actually filmed this with a CM3 and it worked normally. Do you get the same if you try an auto-start or a hot start?
Is auto-start quicker or slower than manual start, generally speaking? Great vid, thanks.
I don't know, I always do a manual start. Would be interesting to test though.
@@deephack just curious if a person can start the Gazelle quicker manually than by using auto-start, like you can with the Huey.

Sure thing would be happy to give it a go.
Great Job as ever
Great Video!
Gazelles been retired from the BA for well over a decade now no? Maybe some held in reserve at best I’d think
Hello, there is a typo in the playlist's name, it's SA342L, not SA243L ^^.
Thanks, I'll fix that.
good

hi, what curves do you uses on ?
I don't currently use any although on the Polychop Discord they have some recommended values.

Dont know why but my blades are so choppy its like the fps drops down to 5fps on the blades only, its been 8 months like that lol

@@deephack ive seen one other person mention it but no fix. Will have to mess around with the settings when im on next
