You don’t sound as enthusiastic about collecting anymore (I understand cause I feel the same), but don’t force yourself to collect things you just simply don’t feel joy in collecting anymore. I still love your content and anything you put out in the future I’ll be tuned in, but don’t lose your sparkle and shine 🩷
the funny thing is, i still very much do love collecting (not just kpop stuff but things in general, its always something i love to do) the thing that bums me out is not being able to complete and continue collections bc of the rapid pace of releases and my own personal financial limitations 😭😭 also i think because being a content creator surrounding this topic as well, i feel a bit sad not being able to provide as much content as i was able to before. i thankfully am having more self control in buying things i dont want to really buy like i kinda was before, but dont worry about me too much! i still want to create content and am finding ways to do so while trying to balance my lifestyle at this moment haha. i very much appreciate your kind comment and support 🫶🏻
I feel so sad seeing everyone in the comments saying they dont like collecting anymore because I’m having the time of my life with it😭 however I do think the reason I’m not getting burnt out is because I dont collect pobs or lucky draws etc. I just collect all the album pcs for my biases and a couple pobs/merch cards that I find cute and I definitely think that that is the reason I’m not feeling overwhelmed or burnt out
I feel that’s definitely it- I really like collecting too, but I limited myself to only collecting pobs / album cards for my bias in my ult group and that’s it. Sometimes I really do want to collect other groups cards as well, but trying to figure out what cards I need to buy when all I groups I like are promoting and releasing stuff at the same time or in close proximity sounds so stressful. One comeback starts and you need to get the cards, and then another one for another group begins when you’re still trying to figure out the last one. I don’t know how people do it for so long, lol.
@@kody2048 I collect about 5 groups currently (multiple members in all of them) all for only album pcs + a couple pobs and its definitely the limit to what I can manage rn. even then ive built up this list over a few years by just starting out with skz and then gradually adding others
honestly same, im not buying photocards like i used to 😭 i dropped my entire collection this year and it was A LOT (excluding enhypen where i collect 1 member). the best decision i ever made, it really feels like a hobby and not something i have to stress about
photocard collecting is so so different than how it was back in the day. companies realized how much fans LOVE..hell even KILL for photocards, so now they are like okay, let’s make everything more expensive and throw in a bunch of fansigns and album versions etc etc. and it’s TOO MUCH. all the cards look the same or expensive and it isn’t worth it anymore. i stopped collecting a year ago and just has been complete heaven. i been able to pick back up all my hobbies again and honestly i only listen to one group now. i just lowkey feel like there’s too much going on in kpop : too many debuts, too many comebacks, too many album versions, too much merch, too much money, too much drama, too much tours, etc etc..
@@slythea they do make a good point! companies are all about strategy. they see how much fans love groups and merch and they simply make money out of it. its starting to get out of hand sadly with prices and the amount of preorders and store benefits you get and its not at all sustainable and honestly not all that worth it. i love collecting and i wont stop for a while, but companies really need to calm down with the merch (:
collecting is not how it used to be before, companies now take advantage of us after realizing how much we love collecting photocards and now made them so expensive + creating so many unnecessary event photocards to get more money for themselves. if you don't find it fun anymore then i recommend to not collect many groups but instead collect your ult groups! it really helped me a lot and was the best financial decision!
I feel like the bubble burst for a lot fans: way too many versions of a single album, the amount of photocards per comeback is insane, too many concerts and events at incredibly high prices, so much useless merch… As a big multi who always took it casually and made collecting sustainable both financially and environmentally (for me) by buying mostly secondhand or go leftovers (new almost exclusively for small groups), the amount of stuff I ended up with is still overwhelming. I feel like for completist collectors the sparkle and joy that made K-Pop fun is being replaced by fomo and stress, there’s simply too much and as much as you cut down on the collecting, it’s still overwhelming. Also, as someone who was here first and foremost for music, not even that is doing it much for me. Boycotting also took a huge toll on how I perceive everything as of now, so yeah, it all feels very different. Just wanted to share my experience cause I know many feel guilty about losing the pleasure of collecting but there’s nothing wrong, we all need to follow our needs and priorities 💛

6:00 tbh ive noticed we've all kind of stopped trading 😭😭 so many lost letters, higher shipping costs, instagram removing hashtags, life in general and more just demotivated me to trade

Keeping up with all of the cards for multiple groups who are releasing and promoting at different schedules and times is so exhaustinf

Tbh it's hella hard to keep up and tiring and I swear if I could trade my dupe pc for the pcs I need that'd be so helpful. Would even trade my dupe albums for the pcs I want Iwl. Like you, life has just been coming at me! There's always a bill of some sort 😭 I know these aren't a need btw just relating. Honestly now I'm kind of appreciating the merch more than albums because you can genuinely use and reuse them as opposed to albums (ik also ppl prefer not to use merch which is understandable) It's also like for me it's the merch then shipping AND THEN customs too 😢 I definitely did get lucky in my latest album pulls but honestly taking a break right now, Idek if I want to go back 😭 Signed albums will definitely still be in the mix though And when you said selling non bias pcs, FELT. Mainly for seventeen as well for me funnily enough. If you get Jeonghan and Wonwoo's album I'd recommend the kit because you actually get both members pcs and it's small and compact and cheaper. They've changed the weverse one where you get the QR and only one random PC 😔 Anyways it's always good to take a step back if needed and don't have worry about getting videos out if it's stressful for you 😊
i honestly think that it would be better to collect only album card or even album that you like. I know you have too much non album card to just simply drop any collection ( i did too, and it's sucks too drop collection and not completing every eras ) but once you did, it would feel much lighter and you can still keep on collecting:) hope this helps :))
You could always just tell urself ur taking a "break" from collecting. And if the thought of being behind overwhelms you maybe collecting isn't ur fave thing anymore. Just go ur own pace! Tbh easy isn't too bad. I don't think it'll ever be as bad as antfragile
