@@conkysamsquanch I'm on to you... haha. In all seriousness, Cary is a personal friend. I'm about to text him to give him crap about his mods vs. accessories thing. LOL
I still don't understand why. Can someone explain why you would pour thousands into a brand new machine that cost thousands already? This is so much money into decor. I feel like people are more into modding pinball machines than playing them because modded out machines are all over the marketplace right now "250 plays fully modded premium". These look neat but I also never put a spoiler or ground effects on my car.
I read your comment, and I'm trying to give you a good answer as to "why". I'm someone who's always tinkered with things my whole life. It's what drew me into the Arcade Machine Collecting Hobby. These mysterious cabinets I grew up with, I always wanted to know more about them. How do they work, how do you fix them... things like that. So the idea of not only owning a pinball machine (and the maintenance and repair work that comes with it) , the idea that I could also customize it and make it your own, was totally appealing to me. It also gives me another aspect to the hobby (outside of just playing the game) and on playfields that are rather bare, it give the game some added appeal. Maybe that's not the best answer, but that's "my reason" I do it. It's fun, it's challenging, and it makes it something customized and unique. I also play the heck out of it too, I just enjoy the modding aspect of the hobby as well. I hope that makes sense and I appreciaite you watching and taking the time to comment.
People who do all these mods tend not to be good at actually playing pinball I’m finding out lol. I like most of the mods Ralph has done here but when you start adding flashing lights on top of flashing lights it just becomes too much.
Modern pinball machines are a world under glass, sterns especially are a bit lackluster in portraying that world. I feel like mods for the most part, round that world out and bring a more realistic element, creating a scene. For me I like tinkering, so adding mods is a hobby on top of pinball that's a hobby. Some people like stock and others like customization, it's in most every hobby.
@@kcpiranha58 all pinball machines are a world under glass, no matter the era. Some modern manufacturers would rather focus on glitz and flashing lights than rules and fun shots, I appreciate Stern for the latter. I want to see the ball when I play, all these extra lights are distractions for most serious players….and mods like the Oxygen Destroyer (as cool as it looks), effects the gameplay in a negative way for me partially blocking the visibility of the outlane post. Obviously to each their own but I prefer to save my money to put toward the next machine.
@@Major_Drain I don't necessarily agree. I've played many older machines 50s-60s. They don't really feel like a world under glass, they feel more like a table game for points. That's just my opinion though and I'm sure others feel different. I understand not liking mods and how some can interfere, it's a fine line on adding to a game or obstructing it. I feel like the mods in Ralph's video are great, they give more environment to the game, instead of looking like a flat plastic some have that 3d element, buildings looking like real buildings and its just painting a scene. They are pretty tasteful to me. Like I said, you can not like it, it's just not your thing but for others like Ralph and I, it's a hobby in and of itself, no different than adding things to one's old hotrod as an example. I feel like it brings a level of customization that as Ralph said, personalizes it as your own. Now if someone mods a game where it's not reversible, I don't agree with that. If it's as easy as removing it and adding the plastic, figure or lighting back then I like it.
EVERY Godzilla MOD video with the Stern art blades .... nobody ever puts the little round sticker over the big bolt head. If you match up the art on the blade with the little round sticker art it looks seamless .. like the bolt head isn't there at all. It only takes 5 seconds per bolt ...grand total of 10 seconds. Y'all just toss the little round sticker??? What up wit dat??? See what I mean at .. > 9:46

Did you trade Stranger Things for Godzilla?
The flying saucer looks cheap and unrealistic. It should looks like a metallic object, and not a plastic one.
Dude, thank you, I'm such a bone head, I didn't even think to reuse that ... doh! I will be getting a premium stranger things to replace my pro, so I will make sure to do that on that one. Thanks so much, I'm a little disappointed in myself that I overlooked that, so it's MUCH appreciated!
