@@winxwest2964 I feel like none or almost none of the green and yellow tasks are randomly selected. Some people's personalities fit some tasks while others don't fit those tasks. Having someone get a task they aren't comfortable with doing won't be fun to watch.
I've just realised, but If scar succeeded in fighting and killing Gem, he could've single handedly saved the whole server, unintentionally playing the hero for the session.

@@skyellama8374well obviously the tasks are going to be scripted. Not some ChatGTP randomly generated things. And I don’t think there’s an issue with the moderators choosing the tasks for the session. Random does not equal good.

There’s something so perfect about how Gem went for Scar as an easy kill, but instead ended losing more health than she dealt and leaving defeated, especially since exactly one season ago, Scar was the butt of every PvP skill joke while Gem being the infamous top dog
And of course she loses so little health over so many later confrontations from anyone else, only for Scar to accidentally kill her in the end.
Scar did great against gem.. tho she jumped right infront of scars shot.
Basically Scar killed her. He dealt 23 hearts to her in battle, then accidentally 3 with that shot.
She failed to respect the bow, and got punished hard

@@L-ghtlessSky i would say fun is what scar did the first half of the session, causing general mischief and setting fire to the heart foundation, immediately followed by it being for nothing because his task got replaced, making it much less fun.

Since he runs/flies around on 2 hearts and 3 haunches he has a distinct advantage when there is no regen since he never regens anyway. 😂

That bit where she tries to recruit Scar first is a great display of why I think he's a strong contender to win this season. She went in with 28.5 hearts, and gave up at 10.5 (Not accounting for +4 from TWO Golden Apples). This man plays the lovable goof, but he knows his stuff, and he can SHOOT.

I love that Pearl had an instant attitude change and got super excited when she realized she could have her dogs attack and murder! That growling 'oOoOoOoh yesSs' had me cracking up. The dark side of everyone coming out!

Also helps that she was failing her original task anyway, so she was had no real reason to be too hesitant and just quit it

Grian’s “Spawn an Enderman” strategy would’ve actually worked well, seeing as Gem was staring right at it. If Etho hadn’t stared at it (he was warned by Grian), Gem could’ve been killed due to her low hearts. I have a feeling it will be used more in the future.

Everyone. Everyone wanted to see Gemini Slay the whole Life server since last season when she helped Cleo kill Etho.
Probably the same people that think etho’s washed
It was intentional, their is some clear choices in who gets what task. They try to give you a task that would be interesting to see you do, is somewhat in character but wouldn't instantly get you called out by Yellows. But they restricted her far to much for a goal that hard.
Grian and Etho's task last session was blatently designed to hurt people as this series has progressed much more slowly then any other Life series. UNFORTUNATELY it had the opposite effect and killed off team red.
So new plan... make the mega Boogieman.
But the requirement to involve the previous victim in the next kill, plus this seasons use of Enchants made Gem's task way harder then expected (possibly the hardest normal task issued so far, excluding maybe the one that asked someone to lie for the entire session) as it meant that spreading out wasn't really an option.
Thus why they ignored that requirement in the end.
Still it achieved its purpose. Gem may have failed but the age of Greens is over, and a new generation of Reds has been born.
I love how you replaced Scar burning the book with an "eventually..." screen, saving him from the embarrassment when he himself included it, full shame attached
Scar may not know how shields work, but he can defend himself quite well. He learned so much.

Am I wrong in saying that before hotguy and the life series scar was nowhere near as formidable as he is now? Now Scar's only weakness is himself.

I'm about 7 minutes in, and seeing Scar hold his own against GEM shows me that he's probably going to be really useful once he's infected.

The funny thing is Scott really helped Cleo and BigB survive being hunted, so if Gem HAD just punched him instead of letting him make the trade with Martyn, there’s a chance they’d have succeeded.

scott had mentioned his plan to let martyn kill him in exchange for a future IoU earlier (since he was on half a heart from the wither and martyn gets 10 hears for killing him so he felt it was better to do this than die to like a mob or a berry bush) so she was probably expecting it.

This whole episode I've been imagining Gem as this sort of Cottagecore Necromancer. All about death and destruction, but still pink and pretty. I'd say this aesthetic suits her quite well.
Also, can't leave her Red skin unnoticed - it's simply awesome!
Pretty much every time this topic comes up in a YT comments section I always say the same thing; Gem is outwardly very much a sweet innocent cottagecore girl that you can't help but go "Aww" at just from meeting her. On the inside however she is just this relentless, remorseless killing machine who views mercy as being for the weak. It's like a Terminator wearing a fluffy woollen jacket.

honestly, this task should be a red task
This should have been a hard task at least, imo it shouldn't have been a task at all. For all the previous sessions I watched like 5+ POVs because seeing all the different tasks is so fun, but this time they all get the same task. It takes away from the entertainment value, it's basically just an excuse to close the server faster
@@neoncat6820exactly, thats the point. the life series has always been a miniseries, it was said by grian at the start of 3rd life. initially it only happened when seasons of hermitcraft or empires ended as kind of like an in between filler smp, but at the end of the day creators struggle to manage playing so many smps at once and life series seasons have to end after usually 5-10 sessions
Skiz in Episode 6: "Help the Lifers work through their feelings by being their therapist."

I definitely think the main reason Gem didn't just immediately kill Scott was that she knew that the two of them would have easily taken down the entire server before they even reached the break 😂
I think part of it may have also been a sense of loyalty to teammates
@@thoughtspeaker8705 that does seem possible, but if that was the case it feels like a bit of a misplay to me. Being turned while green and on half a heart seems like a much better option for Scott than having half the server chasing him round trying to take 30 of his hearts and drag him all the way down to red.
It's also possible that it was an intentional play to try to take Scott down (he is historically the best player in the series and therefore her biggest competition) while preserving her alliance with him, but I don't think Gem is that conniving.
@@Braiba Since the Life series is "half game skills, half social skills" (as said by Scott), not teaming up with Scott or even Martin at the beginning was Gem's biggest misplay. She and/or Scott absolutely could have enticed Martin to kill the yellows and reduced their workload by half.
@@Tersina Gem/Scott team up feels like the direct counterpart/opposite to Scar/Jimmy, whom Scott had to dissuade from teaming up because otherwise they'd both be out before the series even got started properly xD

I would argue that the Watchers were trying to hard to instigate chaos last time which resulted in most of the reds being taken out.

I’m honestly so impressed. Her first time on the series and she opened the end portal, recruited an army to kill the ender dragon, and mastermind a massacre that I’m fairly certain wasn’t surpassed until the snails made their debut. Well done!
(Missed this series when it debuted and I’m getting caught up in-between Wild Life episodes. Can’t wait for Saturday!)

This is probably the best perspective to watch first. It's complete chaos. Gem doesn't even comment when the heart foundation burns down. This is amazing.
I liked watching one of the final survivors first, the shift halfway through when they realize the apocalypse has come was amazing

The funniest part about this is that Grian managed to go completely unnoticed up the tower watching all the chaos below!
There are so many great moments in this session but Scar continuing to flee in terror after getting killed has got to be a highlight. It's even funnier from his perspective too

Based on secret life and HC9, I honestly think Gem is more of a chaos monkey instigator than Grian now
If you give them the opportunity, there are others in Grian's Life Series group that can also be very chaotic. But today was definitely Gem's time to shine.
Right off the bat I want to point out that Grian spawned a wither in the last session, but on second thought Gem definitely did stack a lot of bodies this session. Definitely more than the wither between her and her army.

The antagonism schtick is only entertaining for a while and it’s waaaay past its spoil date on Hermitcraft. Cleo and Scar haven’t figured it out yet either

The hunts to turn people into boogies is giving me similar vibes to the hunts for the last greens/yellows in limited life, it's great

Scar is like, the embodiment of the jarjar binks conspiracy theories.
The dude is chaotic yet accomplishes so muvh when uou dont expect it, has no obvious charisma yet talks his way out of everything, and is so clumsy and clueless yet somehow presents as one of the most dangerous fighters in all of the series. and everyone underestimates him. Every time.
Dramatic increase in pace these last two sessions, which is great! But I hope next one is quieter (despite the now huge number of reds) so we can see how all of the recent events affect relationships on the server.

Saw Gem saying that Scott sent her a picture of her standing right in Skizz's face after this session in a Tango stream the other day and she said she was almost certainly screaming at him, I now understand why lmao
Edit - just remembered it wasn't a Tango stream, it was the Phasmo stream with G.I.G.S. That happened later the same day as the recording session, my bad
This is the session that solidified to me that the biggest thing missing from this season was a weekly Boogeyman
After watching Grian, Scott and Martyn's POVs, seeing Gem immediately take like 20 hearts fighting Scar was very funny, more than they all lost combined it feels like. Insane task though
I now understand why Gem lost her voice after this recording session 😂
