Great real life video Jim, know what your going through , I had a serious mx accident and couldn’t work and walk for 4 months , it drive me mad being off, no more mx but plenty of emtb biking , all the best to ya
In 1998 i had my spleen removed after a motorcycle crash and snapped my tib and fib , i had forgotten what recovery was like until watching this at 4.30am this morning as i suffer from sleep deprivation, keep up the great work and thanks for reminding me to get outside more …. Think its about time for a new ebike 👍
Good on you matey. Bust my wrist June 2022. 6 wks before a Whistler trip. 6 months off the MTB really did my head in. Spin bike and gym saved the day and kept my fit so when I could ride MTB again I was straight back in the groove. 😎🤙 it’s grim for a coup of months but won’t last for ever
Really enjoyed that vid Jim as i think most of us who have had a serious injury from a fall, had a full shoulder reconstruction and subacromial decompression after a Glentress tumble and following 6 long months of recovery its never given me any bother and that was 8 years ago. Looking forward to seeing you back out soon.
Gidday Jim, looks like you're on the mend fast. I'm a similar age as yourself and work a physical job. I think the body is made to move and being fit n healthy through work and riding certainly aids recovery, I find so anyway. Not only is there the physical pain but mental as well which often gets forgotten that you have touched on really well. A reminder that things can happen very fast and you weren't even doing anything daft! Take care stay strong.
This is a brilliant video showing the lows of the accident i to had to get pinned and plated won’t be long now just don’t rush it think the only negative thing i had was we’re the cut is all numb feeling never came back look forward to the next video ❤
What a journey! All the best mate. I highly recommend earthing or grounding daily. A matt that plugs into your earthing plug socket is a great way to do it. Also some NAC.
Really interesting real world view into the injury, repair and recovery. I was amazed how soon after you broke it you were doing stuff 'albeit painfully', I expected it to be a motionless dead weight till the op.
Keep at it Jim 👊🏻 Your doing great One of my friends (51) crashed at twisted and has done the same thing 🫣 Hoping he recovers quickly as you Hope to see you back at it so 👊🏻
Just as you said that you had some new trainers I thought to myself that I was surprised that you don't wear bare foot shoes - within seconds you said that they were bare foot shoes lol. I've been wearing nothing on my feet but barefoot shoes (except for my five tens for riding) for 2 years - love them.
I know I’m a bit prejudiced ‘cos I’m recovering from a hugie which included a #clavicle, but I want to say two things. 1. My own view is that this I your best vid ever (and I usually come for the riding stuff as well as the vibe). 2. It is helpful - really helpful - to watch this when you’re recovering. So, ta mate!🎉🎉🎉
@eywa5 full on for a week or so, but even 8 months after I still have numbness in the area, as to plate it they can’t avoid cutting nerves. Did you have plating, I guess so
@@PinnedTV yeah, i had it plated and pinned :). i feel the skin numbness around the area and the shoulder. it's not terrible, but yea, kinda weird. you got no quality of life problems because of it I hope? and thanks for the replies!
@eywa5 not really, get on the strength physio exercises asap to get it back and supplement with collagen and amino acids, they’ll help loads. Ignore the doc, go to a decent physio and get it moving as soon as you can within reason
I felt the same after trying half a lemon in my shakes, but apparently it's the rind that's the important bit and by only putting the skin of the lemon in, I didn't feel sick and it didn't taste like a toilet block either..... great to see your recovery fastracking
Great Vlogs Jim..your a inspiration and some great tips too..I'll defiantly be trying your drink in PT1 with the lemon ..as ive problems with the old water works like. wishing you a speedy recovery and keep it Pinned 💯 ❤️
Brill vlog jim glad your getting there ,Your lucky your healing fast , I hurt my rib 14 months ago doing nothing yep could barely stand for 10 weeks still bothers me now Dr's are saying it cosdocondritus to the outer10th rib physio hurts all I can keep doing is icing it ,right sides starting to bother me abit now though scary stuff
I've got a desk job but if they denied me the op because of that I'd kick off. I also ride MTB, climb, boulder etc. And I've been working out on a regular basis since I was 18 and I'm now 53.
Glad your feeling better. For the purpose of fairness, the comments regarding physio in the NHS is nonsense. You might as well get both NHS and private of available
