The rear part of the flat metal bracket should be sandwiched between the plastic trim piece and the metal fender for a cleaner look.
I didnt want to scratch the paint though.
The brackets have a L and R stamped on them for each side. Also the clip will hold the bracket off the paint under the plastic.
Very informative. Only one question. Why didn't you turn the truck around so you could work in the shade on both sides?

You can see the paper with the QR code in the packaging as he opens them up. He just throws the paper away with the plastic bag everything was in.
