What joy & pride would we Filipinos feel if God chooses him to become our next Pope. Glory to God, peace to all men of goodwill!

The questions that you've asked him and the responses he had given are so clear and relevant esp. on issues of human "commodification," (Cardinal Tagle's word), the world as affected by social media, faith and values in a changing global environment, and even political and social challenges confronting the Philippines and the world at large. On a lighter note, I would like to share a story about Cardinal Tagle when he was in Italy in 2013 before Pope Francis was elected Pope. While walking with some companions , a group of people took notice of the good cardinal and referred to him as the "Papa Chinensis" or the Chinese Pope. This was related by somebody and was picked up by media, then I heard it by radio in the Philipoines.
20:57 talking about youth's faith, been asking so many questions about religion and the faith before (and still are), theology including stories of people of who wasn't born in faith but came *home helped a lot I strongly agree that "intelligence is better than blind faith" and "to ask questions is not a sign that someone is loosing faith". I came from a town in Imus Cavite where i saw Cardinal Tagle, our hometown as a priest, bishop, all the way from being a Cardinal. He is a good motivational speaker and respected Priest. Now i saw him being a Pope someday, I am proud that he came from our hometown in Imus Cavite, where he grows up in a plaza, near Imus Cathedral.

I remember we ate at a buffet restaurant in a hotel. we only paid for the outside area because it is expensive to avail the inside room buffet. but it rained hard that night that the waiters let us come in towards the large conference / VIP room. and to our surprise there was Cardinal Tagle beside our table eating with his other companies. It maybe strange to many of you but Cardinal Tagle's simple family life reflects majority o Filipino life. It all reflects around family, church, neighbors around the park and crnter of the town we call the plaza. The church bell rings at noontime and 6pm reminding us to give a moment to pray to God. Now it became so early in my town the rosary starts at 4am and the whole town can hear it. Same working in the hospital and the malls. We gave a moment to pray and it's all for everyone to hear and pray in the intercom. Cardinal Tagle came at the moment to use his faith through the web/social media. Poor as we maybe we never forget our faith and love for God.

Thank you for this interview with our beloved former Bishop of the Diocese of Manila Luis Antonio "Chito" Cardinal Tagle. The questions that you've asked him and the responses he had given are so clear and relevant esp. on issues of human "commodification," (Cardinal Tagle's word), the world as affected by social media, faith and values in a changing global environment, and even political and social challenges confronting the Philippines and the world at large. On a lighter note, I would like to share a story about Cardinal Tagle when he was in Italy in 2013 before Pope Francis was elected Pope. While walking with some companions , a group of people took notice of the good cardinal and referred to him as the "Papa Chinensis" or the Chinese Pope. This was related by somebody and was picked up by media, then I heard it by radio in the Philipoines.
Cardinal Chito Tagle is intelligent, very charismatic and young. May the Holy Spirit guide you whether you become a Pope or not🙏🙏🙏

I strongly agree that "intelligence is better than blind faith" and "to ask questions is not a sign that someone is loosing faith". It's great that the Cardinal sees it this way. Doubts without asking questions left unanswered leads (some) young people to leave the Church too early
I came from a town in Imus Cavite where i saw Cardinal Tagle, our hometown as a priest, bishop, all the way from being a Cardinal. He is a good motivational speaker and respected Priest. Now i saw him being a Pope someday, I am proud that he came from our hometown in Imus Cavite, where he grows up in a plaza, near Imus Cathedral.

I remember we ate at a buffet restaurant in a hotel. we only paid for the outside area because it is expensive to avail the inside room buffet. but it rained hard that night that the waiters let us come in towards the large conference / VIP room. and to our surprise there was Cardinal Tagle beside our table eating with his other companies. We felt so blessed.

God bless you Cardinal Tagle. Your faith take you to where you are right now. Hoping someday we can have a Pope from Asia. It maybe strange to many of you but Cardinal Tagle's simple family life reflects majority o Filipino life. It all reflects around family, church, neighbors around the park and crnter of the town we call the plaza. The church bell rings at noontime and 6pm reminding us to give a moment to pray to God. Now it became so early in my town the rosary starts at 4am and the whole town can hear it. Same working in the hospital and the malls. We gave a moment to pray and it's all for everyone to hear and pray in the intercom. Cardinal Tagle came at the moment to use his faith through the web/social media. Poor as we maybe we never forget our faith and love for God.

Most people here in the comments think they already know the person just by watching him for a few minutes via UA-cam. Be real! He never said he wants to be a Pope even though you or they think he does! It's up to the Holy Spirit to choose the next successor of Peter through the Cardinals. The late great Cardinal Wojtyla (St. JPII) never really wanted to be the Pope either but he was chosen to be one. It’s God’s work and not men even though it may seem like the latter.
Cardinal Tagle's pretty well-balanced, he was taught by the great Cardinal Avery Dulles, defender of tradition, but also has the missionary praxis and charism of Francis and St. John Paul II. Hopefully he continues the hermeneutic of continuity + intellectual tradition of Benedict XVI, he quoted him a lot in his works. Plus his outreach work!
