I understand her character to an extent. I've experienced some recent job insecurity in my career and I felt just like Carol: thinking the universe somehow had it in for me and was dealing me one bad card after another. It's hard to see the world through rose-colored glasses when your losing streak never seems to end. It's like being a Boston Red Sox fan for 86 years or a Chicago Cubs fan for 108 years.
Apparently, characters on sitcoms can't remember to lock a door. I couldn't bear people just walking into my house. My doors are locked always...and my town is nowhere near as big or dangerous as Miami.
