I was in Seoul two weeks ago and I went to mangwon on your recommendation and omg. It was my favorite neighborhood!!! I am already planning my trip back so I can explore it even more. Also I knew there were a lot of cafes in Seoul, but whoa, it is truly next level. A cafe lovers dream. Everywhere I went I was seduced by beautiful cafes. They did not disappoint! Totally agree with what you said about going out a ways and exploring/getting out of routine. Just yesterday I traveled out of my neighborhood, planning on going to a specific park, but that didn't happen. I got lost instead lol. Instead I hiking a LOT of stairs. But I just kept walking and discovered some really cool gems that I never would have known to look for otherwise. I was so happy! 🥰 Also! I loved that "Runaway Ginger" T-shirt

I also need that I hate bugs spray, that got a laugh out of me - and those pig planters :D I'm loving the Hangul beneath the English for the places names, makes me practice my rusty Korean more. I went to Korea this summer and I randomly booked an Airbnb in Mangwon without knowing anything about this neighborhood and GOD I absolutely fell in love with it!!! It’s sooo peaceful and authentic. It’s not a touristy neighborhood so it’s really not crowded compared to places like Hongdae or Myeongdong so you get the opportunity to really slow down. Anyway thank you for this beautiful video that made me miss Mangwon even more ❤️
I used to live in Mangwon, right near the old market-in-u (iykyk) and this made me so nostalgic :') it's such a lovely neighborhood! I hope it stays small and old and non-commercial forever

I find these videos so cozy! I live in Yeongdong right now, a small town near Daejeon, and besides exploring coffeeshops, unfortunately I tend to stick to just a few bigger stores, though I've seen a few cute small shops around. (Though admittedly, my favorites, which are bookstores and secondhand shops, Yeondong doesn't really have...) These videos are making me want to explore the smaller shops around here as well, not to mention visit Seoul sometime for the simple purpose of exploring around and finding cute little shops and cafes to spend time and read books in. Oh, I also had glasses similar to those you found in the vintage shop, and I've definitely seen items I used to own in vintage shops back home. However, it doesn't make me feel old; it makes me feel classy 😁

I've lived in my little area my whole life and working here too so I'm very much in autopilot, but I'm going to be living at ucsd once I transfer for fall and I just can't wait to experience and remember why people and myself love the city so much by living in another part of it.

I first imagined that the window beside you lead to a wild field of grass that went on for miles and miles and with little flowers here and there as if you were a garden fairy since you always dressed nicely with bandanas in your hair; so can you image the shock when I found out it was a busy city? Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that i LOVE watching your videos. You're one of the few UA-camrs I've stuck with for more than a few months. a little advice to when you go to a store you love but you don't want to buy anything, say to yourself that you will only get 1 item and mayyyybbbbbbeeeee 2, since you're in that mentality you'll stress yourself thinking what to buy and the anxiety will get to you to the point that you will not get anything or you'll just get 1 thing you really really wanted, it has worked for me everytime 😜
I love how many plants are put out on the streets in this area, really adds to the coziness of the area. Any reason you know why they dont have more permanent structures though, they all just seem to be in pots

Thank you for uploading mangwon where i lived about 10yrs .. Now i live near airport, i am lazy so haven't been there over a year. Couldn't take my eyes off when you walk on the street, i was checking up and noticing all the stores you pass by ... I would like to visit soon ❤ AFTER summer 😅

Mangwon is my favourite area atm. Luckily I live every close that neighbourhood. I love the cafes and cute shops there.
