Thank you. This is the most clear and easy to understand explanation I’ve heard about a TPM chip.

You made it really simple, most videos make it sound like this very confusing new technology but you made it understandable. Thank you.

you did not talk about recovery options.
can I remove the TPM chipset and go to another PC?
what if there is an hardware failure? like my motherboard crashes?

does TPM stop me from installing older programs or other programs that arent signed by microtrash?
im asking because search engines arent pulling anything related but have loads of hits for why i HAVE to have it for windows 11, and usually when that happens i know thats how the search is trying to divert my search from what i want

Good video, thanks for making it. I have a question, I've just turned my TPM on today (Built into my CPU - Ryzen 5) through my Bios settings, if I was to turn it off in future or get a new CPU, would I run into any issues, or is it as simple as accessing Bios and disabling it?

Could Kernal level Anti-Cheat access the TPM? My thought would be for use of enforcing bans for hacking etc.

Bitlocker recovery key should help recover from that, if you keep it around.

Thank you for clearing my anxiety a lil. On a side note, if I were to perform a full system wipe, files deleted and whatnot, if I disable these during that process, what would happen? Would I be able to boot back into Windows or would I need a new install? It wouldn't fry the hardware, right?

so: bitlocker is a timebomb then, if the tpm module fails your data is lost

When you activate Bitlocker it creates a 48 digit recovery key that you MUST save to either a Microsoft account (if selected then this happens automatically), or basically save to a text file on a usb drive or any external source (Cloud or hard drive etc.) It will not save the file to the drive you are encrypting with Bitlocker). If your TPM is enabled (it has to be to activate Bitlocker) then that 48 digit key is saved to the TPM allowing the Pc to start without entering the key manually. If for any reason the TPM fails or for example you move the encrypted drive to another computer, so long as you have that 48 digit recovery key you can access the drive and it's data.
