  • Japan is different. We know that. But what may surprise people is how different the living situations are. As two foreigners living in Japan, we share our experiences on moving to Japan, finding an apartment, and things that surprised us moving in.
Some things we talked about were setting up gas, water, and electricity utilities, how we pay rent, the lack of insulation and opportunities for air conditioning. The list goes on.
We were enjoying a bottle of Azakura Sake from Akita prefecture in Japan.
We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed making it.

Oh you’re in Magome! I lived there for 5 years but moved to Musashikoganei - 4 stations west from Kichijoji - last year. My sons are very happy now since there’s Nogawa river here. Enjoy your new life!

    北海道の家は断熱材も入っているし、セントラルヒーティングだし、二重窓です。冬の室内はポカポカで、1年間のアイスクリームの消費量は日本一です。初めて本州の家に来たとき、寒さに耐えられませんでした😂

I miss the central heating. I know it is good. My father rebuilt our house. He was excited for the floor heating. (underfloor heating) However, it maybe good, but Central Heating can worm all rooms and hallway. So, I checked Central Heating in Japan in website. You know walls of Japanese houses are very thin. The wall can't hold the room temperature. That means Central heating doesn't work. But, my father built thicker wall to keep the room temperature. So, I explained everything and recommended the central heating. He denied my idea. He wanted the floor heating. Darn! I still want Central Heating. sigh

You guys should release podcast as well, or you should put the link of podcast in the video. It is a bit inconvenient to listen to on UA-cam.
