    2009 NAS Oceana Airshow
    Naval Air Station Oceana
    Virginia Beach, Virginia
    Friday October 16, 2009
IN THIS VIDEO, Roger Buis was the lucky pilot who got to fly the only act during the media and practice show at NAS Oceana. You will see him fly Otto the Helicopter in his act, which at first I didn't care for, but it has grown on me quite a bit. This act is geared more towards kids, but now that I can fully understand how a helicopter is flown, I can now appreciate the talent that Roger Buis shows in this act.
As I said, this was the only flying act that took place on Friday because of the cold, wind, and rain that pounded NAS Oceana that day (and the entire weekend). The ceilings hovered below 1,000 feet and the visibility hovered between a mile and five miles. The only other act that took the stage on Friday was the Shockwave Jet Truck, and while I did get video of the truck's first run, I'm choosing not to share it because of the quality of the video.
I apologize for any bad color and/or vertical lines that may or may not be in this video. Once again, I have had some camera trouble throughout the weekend.
If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve's Airshow World at www.stevesairsh... .
