The T-80BVM was introduced in the recent patch and one of the first things you notice is the hard-hitting ammo. The 3BM60 APFSDS round currently has 580mm of pen at 10 meters. It will apart those pesky NATO tanks with ease. It was also great to play with Orangefan again!

Well considering that all other russian top tier vehicles have ussualy none, its a nice change of pace for once.
@@DunkaDunka330 What do you mean, the T-80BVM is just a better T-80U. It's not like Russia was lacking anything.
The shell is solid but it's not fantastic by any means.
It's held back by the same issues as other USSR MBTs, awful depression and in the case of the T-80 mediocre reverse speed.
3bm60 is God awful shell. It has no spalling and disappears on breech, barrel, side armor n stuff. For somehow it acts like it has short rod modifier like 3bm22

That thing is so powerful. Really mobile, the autoloader, and the ERA help survivability a lot it seems
It is the preem tank for top tier Russia but it still has the some of the flaws t-80b has aka it's turret is trash. Cast steel with quart filled cavity without the era is very susceptible to shells some 8.7s fire.

At first I was disappointed by the lack of Ham Cam but the crossover with Orangefan as well as Jim's food truck (get 'em while their hot) made up for it 😅

It's not everyone's cup of tea, personally I love cold war era vehicles and their modern derivatives. Love hinds and kamovs, love my little bastard child mig-23m. Only thing I wish we had more of was spaa between 3.3 and 8.0 and all the LAVs that Russia produced, stuff like bmd, btr and bdrm.

Russian equipment against Russian equipment actually somewhat realistic if you think about Ukraine war, Chechnya war ,Syria civil war.
I mean T72 shooting T72 footage is probably easier to find than M1 Abram shooting T72.

Btw. first battle is actual future of War Thunder. RU tanks fighting RU tanks, backed up with spam of KA-50/52's.
Have you played top tier air in the last 3 patches, it's phantom domination with f-5es making planes like bis and mirage and draken non competitive.
@@TheIrishBread RU lineup - best tank in game ( plus couple of variants to spam your enemy ), best SPAA in game ( Tunguska ), third or second best jet in game ( due to Phantoms and F5E spam ) and ofc best heli in the game ( actually three of them ). No offence, but I think I made my point.
@@Cpt_Wolf bvm is just a heavily upgraded b with a new gun and round and thus falls to the same stuff the 10.0 one does, the other 3 top tier tanks have mediocre mobility and gun handling. cant argue with tunguska it literally is the best spaa in the game, as far as third best jet in the game slow your role bud since this patch with the flare buff the only thing the bis has going for it is speed cause f-5e outmaneuvers it (and draken and mirages) and its got nowhere near the multi role capability or bvr capability of the phantoms combine that with a 21k repair cost and you can say bye bye to that. the kamovs and mi-28n are probably the best helicopters in the game based on load-out alone.
There is no Russian bias just flavour of the patch, this patch its Russia for ground and continues to be USA for air, last patch was Germany and Sweden for ground and USA for air etc etc. the only thing that Russia currently has over the other major nations in GRB is vehicle choice and if you took a minute to look at half the vehicles on the Russian tree you would see that we dont get a lot of tech the Nato members do heck most of the top tier tanks dont even have gen-1 commanders thermals let alone our first plane with flares on the tree is an 11.0.
End of the day theres nothing inherently about the russian vehicles that across the board makes them over permform vs the things they fight.

@@TT-cf8dz Im sorry have you played the bis this patch, tell me what happens when you try to fire r-60s or who jumps on you when you try dog fighting a phantom here lemme spell it out for you, due to f-5s power creeping dog fighters / turn fighters like bis draken and mirage you cant afford to get into dogfights anymore especially at the bis's repair cost combined with the flare buff that dis-proportionally effects r-60s the bis is essentially a wolf without teeth so no i do think until they either fix how flares are effecting r-60s or drastically lower the repair cost of most r-60 using aircraft im gonna lable the later mig-21s (smt, bis and mf) along side mirage 3 (c/e) and j35 d as non competitive.

Commanders automatically take the gunner’s spot now I think
It's the hunter-killer mechanic where the higher tier vehicles with the system irl can have the commander take over the gun to fire. Also, commanders have their own optic now which they can also use to fire through.

I have a love hate relationship with this game but I've been followin your guys' content for a while now and my 22nd birthday is in 4 days and my highest br tank that i have is the m18 but I'm kinda bad with it so i mainly play low br but even then i struggle, though sometimes i get an ace and sometimes i use my jumbo cuz i know where to aim on a panther or tiger i just cant do it since they go right through my armor
Honestly if you still want to play ground try playing a different nation, each has its own play styles and sometimes all you need is to find the one that synergizes with you the most, there are always exceptions, I would probably fit better into a Nato tank play style as I value hill peeking and gun depression alongside reverse speed heavily, things Russian tanks don't do, but I stuck with it and now I'm just grinding through Russia 7.7 going for the top.
Now they are just slapping random letters at the end of russian MBTs to make new ones
