I really like the sped up version of writing instead of the speaker repeating what they are writing. It's also formatted in a very clear and concise manner. Keep up the good work!

The neurological symptoms weren't even mentioned in this video! Gluten intolerance can cause unbearable headaches, infertility, mood, and skin disorders. Additionally, the studies that claim Celiacs is rare are not global. They are limited in the populations they are taking into account. I have gluten intolerance. Had it all my life and like everyone else, wheat was a major component of my diet. Once eliminated from diet, I am not living on Ibuprofen any longer.

I've suffered intestinal upset/problems as a young child, but was diagnosed as my crying for attention...OMG...yes partly true as I was being systematically sexually abused BUT, my having Diarrhea, stomach aches, painful gut EVERY SINGLE day of my life wasn't all in my head! I left home, got married and no longer eating the vegetarian mostly canned "Wheat Meat" and my intestinal issues began to quiet down some, but not totally....I was 20 yrs old, discovered that our traditional Sunday Breakfast eaten at pancake house caused me to have a heavy feeling in my gut...These were the days LONG BEFORE gluten free became a fad...but I knew that pancakes made me feel awful...Fast forward 30 yrs @ age 50ish was diagnosed with Crohns disease....by age 55 it was so bad I needed a bowel resection...BUT still suffered horribly until I stopped eating Gluten!
I got off most of the medications I was taking for Crohns disease...8 different meds, now down to just 3 different meds which includes Prenisone...I cannot get off those, its just too painful and I can't get out of bed when I don't take Prednisone! WHEN I accidentally ingest something with gluten, I feel as if I've been run over by Mac Truck AND Brain fog so serious I can't even drive... Some very kind woman made a Gluten Free stew for Church Potluck, told me she had my Gluten Free diet in mind when she made it knowing I don't have much to choose from...After a few bites I knew it contained gluten...I didn't expect feeling so ill, so suddenly...but it had Barley....I ate several bites before I realized, too late it contained something I was allergic to...I've not had the guts...PUN intended...to share with her that Barley is just like wheat when it comes to Gluten.
But its totally bizzare how it hits my brain long before my intestines begin reacting....explosive Diarrhea...its worse than taking a mind numbing drug!

The lecture is missing an important category - gluten sensitivity (as distinct condition, not gluten intollerance).

1 in 70 or even 1 in 300 isn't rare at all, may be 1 in over 10 000, then yes. 2.1 million people affected on 1 continent (or you meant America as the US only?) is quite a lot. If it's just a protein then it shouldn't be dangerous at all to those who are not affected (proteins are broken down to aminoacids in the GI system, right?).

Gluten-free diets are actually not healthier than regular diets containing gluten. Usually, gluten-free products will contain more sugar (carbohydrates) and fats (lipids) than their regular counterparts. This is mostly to make gluten-free foods more edible.

braepau Of course, because you’re talking about processed foods. You can eat gluten free and not buy processed junk. Shop your market’s perimeter. All commercial processed food is unhealthy.

"Not common"? Oh man, name more diseases which have even one in 200 young ppl :D On the contrary - it is very common. Less than allergies, yes, but more than most AI.

BS video. I can't eat gluten, and I think people should stay away from it. I had skin conditions for many years, went to many dermatologists and even went to Stanford clinic to get the same temporary medications. MEDICINE IS A BUSINESS, and the system doesn't make money on healthy people.
AS SOON AS I STOPPED EATING GLUTEN (pasta, bread, processed carbohydrates etc
MY SKIN CONDITION WAS GONE GRADUALY!
The approach to medicine should be prevention, home remedies, and a good diet.
