I just finished binge watching the show and started informing myself on it. Now the awesome chemistry between Tim and Téa makes sense. Excellent actors for one, but the genuine affection must help too. I loved the show and unlike other 6 seasons political dramas I loved this ending.
I will miss this show! Thank you for 6 great seasons. Also thank you for the show not being partisan in either direction, that was truly refreshing to see.
I got into this show this year because of my good friend and let me say I fell in love with every character in the office with the Secretary/President. I agree with you that the best part of the show was that there was no partisan in either direction, because of this I would have loved to have witnessed in real life a President like Elisabeth McCord for the World. I am not an American citizen but honestly, one can agree that we need an individual like her now to run this world. It was so refreshing to enjoy and learn so much about what goes on behind the scenes politically. I most certainly am missing the show already.
I loved this show from day one. I will missed this exciting, provocative, funny political series from my sundays nights routine. The casting of this show was great. I hope one day it.gets recognized with some type of award.
I love this show. My only problem is the way CBS treated Madame Secretary over the years. Any time there was a special or time and day change to other shows, the first show to get axed for the week was Madame Secretary. It was not fair that something that was normally seen at 8pm on a Sunday gets bumped to 9 pm, then CBS decides not to show MS at all. CBS should get fired, not MS. Also, I was thinking that maybe this would pave a way to change the title to Madame President. CBS has no love for the series, but I do.
@@markdagostino9666 But its just the reruns though, it's too bad they didn't somehow get to continue it on Netflix, I would have loved that, even if it was just a couple more seasons of Tea as Madam President instead, it would have been great to see her handling things more as the president before it ended.
So sad to see this top notch show end. It's like losing The West Wing all over again. Tea Leoni's portrayal of Madame President is so timely, & so needed given the antics of the current White House occupant. Would love to see the show resurrected with her starting a 2nd term!
Jane I totally agree with you! I was a big fan of West Wing and still watch the series on Netflix. I still miss those characters as much as I will miss those in Madam Secretary.
I'm a fan of both shows, but I have to say that I did not enjoy the Santos/Vinick season. The show is called The West Wing... not Who Will be the Next President? I enjoyed the monologues and several epiphanies by Ron Silver, Alan Alda, and Martin Sheen during that time, but the seventh season is just a headache. Spoiler: Madam Secretary, on the other hand, handled the transfer of power without all the politics that viewers try to get away from: by ending season five with her campaign announcement to beginning season six with her first month as President.
How did I miss that Tea and Tim became a real-life couple? That's so nice to hear -- they both are among my favorites and seem likable and genuine -- like they deserve each other. Hope they stay together and work together again.
@@HerrStaale ok well he wasn't voted for a second term and Obama was so who's the better politician now? and maybe u think trump has better ideas, but he most definitely does not have better values.
Nice show. We've enjoyed it the whole time! The relationship dynamics and family stories were nice to weave into the "job". Ethics and Morals built into many stories. Well done writers and cast!
I am so tired of network pinheads canceling great shows. This show became a Sunday night staple for me and a whole lot of other people. This is the best politically driven show since The West Wing. Not only did they axe this phenomenal show way too soon, but they couldn’t even give us a full season, we only got a 10 episode final season. CBS is usually more flexible with canceling shows, giving new shows the time they need to mature or established shows like Madam Secretary that might dip a little in the ratings. I’m getting fed up with this.
I hate to see you all go. You all will be missed. You've inspired me. "Keep throwing babies" it's a good thing if you've watched the show. Good luck to you all.
I didn't even watch this until Dec 2023, I was expecting it to just be another political drama with backstabbing and just a lot of bad people, like a few others that were around at the time and since it, but instead it was a great show, with good characters and great stories. I have been a fan of Tea Leoni since The Naked Truth, even though it was nothing like Madam Secretary of course, I just recently got to see it again, right here on UA-cam, because one channel has all 3 seasons, and though you could tell Tea was very talented as an actress, even with all the silliness of that show, it was so weird compared to this show, but I still enjoyed it. And after finding out even before I finished it, where it's on Netflix, that Tea and Tim were actually dating, like right from the start of the show, it made so much sense to me, because they're chemistry was through the roof, and they really seemed to be really kissing the whole time, lol! Not that fake type where they barely kiss their lips together, lol! I really love that the two of them are still together now after all these years. I am glad Tea found a good guy to spend the rest of her life with, after David Duchovny. Oh speaking of David and The Naked Truth, there is an episode in that show, after the two of them were dating and before they were married, where as a tabloid magazine reporter, Tea's character is set to find proof David is cheating on his blonde sitcom girlfriend, and I just wondered while watching it if Tea later thought of that episode after finding out years later that David was cheating on her. That must have made it even worse somehow, she probably thought that it was like the universe was trying to tell her something, but she didn't get it!
I loved this show. I am hoping on it becoming Madam President. Tea Leoni is such a welcoming presence every Sunday . I really believed she could run the country. 🙂
I miss you Beth. I loved Teo Leoni when she acted in a sitcom in the 90s. I found her funny then. As Beth she was very compelling. She makes you smile with her cry with her laugh with her. I am so glad to have fallen in love with her.
I lOVED Madame Secretary although the last season they really reigned Eliabeths powers in, and cut the story too short. They tied up her beautiful hair. I was genuinely grieving when the series ended... I will really miss MS - 2 good things came out of it at least.. 1. Téa Leoni also starred in my other favourite movie - Bad Boys I. and 2) Téa & Tim got together, what a AWESOME Couple. YAY!!!
OMG THAT WAS ACTUALLY ALLIE LONG AND CRYSTALL DUNN ashlyn harris AND ALI KRIEGERI NEVER WATCHED USWNT UNTIL A YEAR AGO AND I WATCHED THIS SEASON A YEAR AGO
I watch only the seasons that was release on Netflix and I will say it is one of my favorite shows and I have rewatched it several times this past year.. Same with the West Wing.. It's very hard for me to find really good shows and it always sucks to hear every one of them get canceled..
should have put a spoiler, i just started watching it from Netflix. i know it's an older show but you kinda ruined the plot even though i knew it was kinda going there from hints. I still love the show, pan on continuing watching
Just wondering why the show is canceled after the first year of her presidency. Why have her survive impeachment this season? Seems that would be an easy way to shake up cast and crew without scuttling the show.
It was more they were cancelling madam Secretary and chose to use a half season fast forwarded as to presidency. I personally think the current political climate was the biggest reason this show declined. Last thing we want is more sensational politics right now. Had this been a more "typical" real world presidency this show would likely have continued for another few seasons.
It's a CBS production and distribution. They're just giving publicity to their own show. I rarely ever watch network fictional shows anymore. Be aware these network executives, producers and directors have allegedly been harassing actresses for decades. Search for and read: theguardian Secret Actress unwanted hands
LOVED this show! I do have to say that those neckties as necklaces, those made me cringe but the rest was great, such smart writing, I haven't enjoyed a political show like this since West Wing.
Just finished watching Season 6. Gotta say, I’m supremely disappointed. The genuineness of the past 5 seasons was nowhere to be found in Season 6. What bothered me most was the fact that they ‘played down’ the first female President by dressing her in endless pant suits, ties and pinned back hair. Then engulfed her with controversy for half the season. It was just so dull & uninteresting. The actors, the show, the fans deserved better.
I completely agree. The final season was so out of kilter with the other 5 seasons. It felt like they ran out of storylines. The whole investigation wore wore off very quickly. I was actually glad that it was only 10 episodes.
Madame Secretary overlying world war 3. Protocols from White House station to formulate the White House and Black Markets. GREAT SHOW Forging Women forward. Bi-partisan representation .
Season 6 episode 6 I think when she is scrolling down iPad on UA-cam talks about the conspiracy theorist are crazy people. Lol. Looks like someone on the show loves Satan.
I do feel like CBS gave the show a bit of a PC-side that doesn't quite match it. But it's definitely an empowering series. However, there's so much more to this show than bisexuality and being a woman. It's so much about taking risks and following your gut instinct and making mistakes and learning.
"What are you keeping as a souvenir from the set?"
"Tea Leoni."
Loved that
I sure hope that Madame Secretary's end is just to make way for Madame President's beginning. This show is too good to just let it go away like this!
the last season IS about Madam President.. but I doubt they'll write another series... This is too good to top.
So devastated CBS is out of their mind !!! This is the best show ever 😭😭
