My lawn is DEAD!!! Don’t let it happen to you!!!
My wife left a gathre mat down on my lawn on a hot day and I couldn’t believe that it killed my lawn!!!
Turns out my neighbors had the same thing happen with a slip and slide!
Watch so it doesn’t happen to you too!

So I guess you have to ask yourself why you have a nice lawn. Is it so that you and your family have a nice space to use and enjoy? Or is it only for your neighbors to look at? The grass will come back in a couple of weeks. That's what grass does. Don't be that old guy who sits on his porch and yells "you kids...GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!!" On the other hand, a cotton gather mat (table cloth) might be just as usable for your family, and more forgiving for your lawn.

Totally fair! I made the lawn so my kids had some place to enjoy. My kids are on my lawn all the time! I just wouldn’t use a mat or something that won’t let it breath while they are using it during a super hot day.
Once we figured out the issue, we just switched to a regular blanket with super hot days :-)
Just don’t want others to have the same issue I had.
