The Nokia tune, originally known as Gran Vals, was once the most played music in the world. This is the story of how a short excerpt from a classical guitar piece quickly became the symbol of Nokia, and was lost just as quickly.

What a trip down memory lane, had no idea it came from a classical piece!
Remember that the Nokia tune in the beginning was one of the many ringtones that also had a vibration pattern that follow the melody, which was especially useful when you put your phone on "vibrate".
Fun Fact: The Nokia 2010 was the first phone to have the tune as a ringtone. It was also my first phone and I was 18 at the time. That was around Jan 1996.

I still use the 5190 / 3310 version on my Moto G stylus. When I receive a call, it turns heads for anyone who remembers. People expect me to play 'Snake', too...
I used to compose ringtones on my nokia 3310 when I was 13 years old, I programmed in Eminem's Trailer park girls. It's probably the first time in my life composing music on a computer

I still use my Nokia for daily use.
When Nokia was whoared out to Microsoft I bought a few original Nokia phones for later. I never regretted this. It is a known fact that when a company is sold to Microsoft bad thing will happen to it and everything that made it great is altered and changed and corrupted.
