This is it! The third and final chapter of our mission to revive this flood-damaged Honda lawn mower.

If you experienced flooding this spring around the Bellingham area or anywhere else, you may have also witnessed the unfortunate drowning of one of your favorite pieces of outdoor power equipment. Watch this video as we take apart a customer’s submerged Honda HRX lawn mower. Piece by piece, Josh cleans, replaces, and breaks down some of the relevant parts, and runs the mower through several oil changes and tanks of gas.

One mower l had underwater never got it cleaned out but l think someone makes a cleaner for water in the oil l think it has alcohol in it thanks Josh you're very patient

I don’t know what that mower cost new, my hrx217hyaa was about $900 when I bought it at Christmas. I would run the mower until it dies, then buy another one. It’s still a lot better mower than the lower end mowers you would buy at the box stores. If I get a year out of it, that would be great. If I get 2 or more years it would be even better. By then maybe it will be easier to replace with a new Honda mower. The way I see it I have nothing to lose. Just my $0.02. Thanks for posting.

To pay a shop would probably not be worth it. But if you have 4-5 hours of free time it would totally be worth it
