Some years ago, I read about one of these automated parking systems build for an apartment complex in Munich. People started complaining about having to stay in a long line during the morning rush hour to get their cars out, as this takes time. In one case, the car of an owner was picked out by some software glitch while he was travelling on vacation.
From Australia: none of these would work in the USA because they are taught to use their handbrakes like the rest of the world. I can just imagine some serious accidents happen over there!

People cant even park right in a parking lot. How are they going to drive on these devices ?
Most wouldn’t work in snow, I’d guess. Our garage ends up picking up a lot of road goop from driving around to get where I need to be, and my car ends up dropping a lot of dirty, compacted snow from the wheel wells. Whoever gets the bottom space would get all of that salty snow on their car.

All these systems still rely on the soft squidgy human part being able to actually park their car.. i can imagine standing there as the robot drags a badly parked car across many parked cars because it wasn’t put on the dolly properly. :(
