Wonderful tour of Audemars Piguet Grande complication factory and I am happy to see for the first time a descendant of Audemars, Olivier Audemars.

Sad to see a manufacturer with such a rich history is surviving solely off of hundreds of tasteless Royal Oak variations nowadays.

I think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't like the big Off Shores with all the rubber, but a simple RO Jumbo in steel, i think, is nice watch. I agree with you that, it's sad that they only make one model with hundreds of variations. They should do more nice dresswatches, like Vacheron, Jeager, etc.

Totally agree. I like royal oak and all but I'd love to see them to get out of their comfort zone catering to only one specific niche demographic with royal oak and bring out other models to the table. They have tons of their historic pieces to draw inspiration from.

Ehhh...I still think Breguet & Lange Sohne are much better. Yeah AP made beautiful watches a long time ago. Now all they make are shitty variations of the Royal Oak.

Audemars Piguet still makes some of the best Bauhaus design dress watches. Go to their site and look at the Jules Audemars line (15180OR) or the minute repeater (26590PT). I think the issue isn't AP is only making sports watches, its because less and less people are buying pure dress watches. You can't blame a company on what people buy, if we want to get them to make more dress watches, we have to vote with our dollars and buy an the dress watches.

AP really should be focus on 1940s and 1950s wrist watches with complications plus Royal oak, the elegance of these designs will be fitted perfectly and proudly with AP name. Royal oak is overhyped and overdose! If people suddenly not interested in royal oaks the AP will shut down or swatch will buy AP !

I love pocket watches. You can do so much more with the movements, dials, design, and complications compared to the silly little overpriced wrist watches out there. This is a good video, but you need to do more like this and less of those inane and overwrought interviews.

AP is going from strength to strength! They have their formula just right, designed the best luxury sports watch in 1972 and now its paying off hugely. People buy ss Rolex as luxury watches these days but AP come up with the luxury sports watch concept more than 45 years ago so they deserve to be heavily focused on the Royal Oak range. Good luck to them!

@@jhmsmarttv795You know shit thats for sure. And you should respect people who really suffer from autism. Anyway there is no such thing as a holy trinity. Vintage Audemars Piguet is no better than vintage Longines. I owned hig end vintage pieces from both brands. Longines watches are overal better finished, for example the dials and hands are better designed and finished. Look at the writing on the vintage AP pieces. They look terrible. You know shit that's for sure...
