He plays in such a manner that I could follow along the song theme throughout. Michael Feinstein, the piano playing crooner, said that he can tell if a pianist knows the lyric to a song by the way he is playing it. I feel the same way about Masahiro Sayama. I felt as if he was singing and whistling that song all the way. What a fun and wonderful jazz pianist.
That's a great point! I once met a retired pianist, I served him on his wedding night at the restaurant I was working at. We built rapport, and several weeks later, he invite me to his luxurious house, which was just over the road from the restaurant, and he gave me several great piano lessons, just to pass on his knowledge to me. I never had a proper classical teacher, and he gave me a lot of great instruction on classical form, on practicing Bach, and emphasised the internalisation and 'singing' of the melody above all else. He said to learn the lyrics of the song, and to sing it in your mind when you play the melody, to give the melody a 'singing' quality (I also wonder if Kieth Jarrett does this - his melodies are always so clear!) It was very auspicious little chapter in my music journey, I'll never forget that.
Fabulous! I love the way he "gets into it" about half way through and becomes a performer, not just a pianist. So sorry to hear he died in 2018; I'll be looking for other recordings of his.
you probably dont give a shit but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost my login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Nicolas Jax thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great, interesting and also funny - I mean you Play with joy and humor 😙 - Arrangement of this well known Standard! Good Job! I will definitively listen to more music of you!
This is good ,but as long as it's someone else music,to me ,u need to find a way to aggregate, a little of ur own background, that may be from the music u grow up with, seys open a solo in between in which ur own self can represent you as an individual performer , as possible Muscal experience contribute to this stile so much used.
