    0:25, a shot from FtM’s 1979 pilot episode, which featured FOUR contestants instead of three, a slightly different set and a band that had two trombonists and one woodwind player.

    Martha was also a contestant on two other game shows; she was on Card Sharks in September 1978, & on Press Your Luck in October 1983

    I was wondering what they’d play for Lee Marvin. “Michelle” might have been just a leetle bit tactless.

      And it premiered as a mid-season replacement on January 14, 1980 and ran until May 29, 1981, with reruns airing until September of that year. Reruns later resurfaced on CBN Cable from July 2, 1984 (the same day NBC premiered Scrabble as part of its daytime lineup) to September 27, 1985 opposite reruns of Danger Mouse on rival Nickelodeon (11 years before WWE RAW on USA (later TNN/Spike) went up against WCW Monday Nitro on TNT and 35 years before WWE NXT on USA went up against AEW Dynamite on TNT) and again from January 6 to August 29, 1986, USA from January 2 to September 8, 1989 for the first 65 episodes and again from March 26 to September 14, 1990 for the final 65 episodes, and CBN’s successor The Family Channel from January 2 to September 29, 1995.

    This is the eighth episode of Face the Music, which would have aired the week of 1/9/95-1/13/95 on FAM, and 1/11 if they didn't skip any episodes. FAM did skip a great deal of episodes when they aired reruns of this show in 1995, as per posts on alt.tv.game-shows at the time. Perhaps it was due to music clearances lapsing after a certain amount of time, as these shows were 15 years old when they aired on FAM

      The very next week, FtM changed the Championship Game’s top prize to $10,000 in cash, which would remain for the remaining 120 episodes.

    I love face the music. I used to have the third episode from a USA network rerun, it was Perry/Sandra/David, champion was Marilyn Ellis who was going for her third win against Perry, didn’t have the outcome on my tape.

    • @zachhoran
      @zachhoran 4 роки тому +2

      USA's first airing of that was 1/4/89. IIRC they aired 130 episodes of FtM and then repeated the first two months from July 3-September 8, 1989. I don't remember if the March 26-September 7 , 1990 USA run of Face was different episodes than those or not(replacing Couch Potatoes at Noon IIRC, though parts one 1990 USA rerun episode with Dean Lesner as contestant are on UA-cam)

    • @danalong1237

      USA Network showed the first 65 episodes of FtM in 1989 and the last 65 episodes of FtM in 1990. The Family Channel briefly aired reruns of FtM in 1995, but became notorious and infamous (not to mention criticized) for skipping some episodes and eliminating all the fee plugs. FAM’s predecessor CBN Cable aired all 130 episodes from 1984-86 opposite Danger Mouse reruns on rival network Nickelodeon, and, like the USA Network reruns, did not skip some episodes and eliminate all the fee plugs.

      @@Rlotpir1972 I had no idea that he passed on that run of the series. I DO know that Ron and Lisa DID appear as hosts of the syndicated half hour 'Ten Pin Alley' bowling series. @@Rlotpir1972 I do not recall that Ron Ely was considered to host the 1984 version of "The $100,000 Name That Tune at all nor that he and Lisa ever co-hosted "Ten Pin Alley" bowling series in syndication around 1983-84. I do know that Ely hosted the Miss America Pageant for two years in 1980 and 1981. I did read a long time ago that Peter Marshall was the first choice to host the 1984 "$100K NTT" followed by 70s host Tom Kennedy and Mike Douglas before Jim Lange won the hosting job.

    That aside, I always found it jarring to see the stock pilot shot at the beginning of the early episodes, and the stock shot from who knows when at the end of the credits. Was Sandy Frank THAT cheap that he couldn't do a live camera shot the whole way through?
