Teams that scheme against him know what he’s good at and plan around that accordingly, as we’ve seen in the playoffs year after year. Kenny’s argument assumes teams are going to attack the paint at their normal rate when they don’t. You can say Utah’s perimeter defence is to blame and that definitely is a big factor. But another factor is that any team having to guard 5 out with 4 guys is going to struggle. Also the NBA is different to what is was 10 years ago, being a complete black hole on offense in a leauge where spacing is everything makes you a significant liability for any team.
