I'm 5'9", which is your average male height in America. (I'm also white, which means I can't jump that high). I recall playing basketball against tall guys and it seems that I always was getting my shots blocked or rebounds taken from me. It so satisfying to see these NBA professionals who are obviously NOT that familiar to getting stuffed, getting stuffed routinely from Wemby. You can see the frustration on their faces. They finally feel like I felt.

Bol Bol doesn't play hard when he doesn't have the ball, including on defense. You can't teach heart. The most impressive things about Wemby are that he gives a crap, he reads both the offense and the defense, and he is desperate to win. His physical flexibility is unmatched for a big man. I haven't seen him block a single shot into the fifth row this season- he somehow gets possession of almost everything. Give him a couple years to increase his shooting efficiency and stop giving up so many dumb rookie turnovers (many of which are because his teammates are so terrible that they either can't pass to him- which is recorded as his turnover when he loses a ball thrown at his feet- or they can't do anything with the ball when he passes to them), and he'll be the best player in the NBA by far. He's already shooting at a significantly better rate than LeBron and KD in their teenage rookie seasons.

I highly doubt that you have watched 5 Spurs games this year. He takes a lot of shots per the amount of minutes he plays. A real pass first point guard would help him get better shots. Better shots are far more important than more shots.

The ability to legally travel and carry the ball while dribbling, has ruined basketball. It allows for players that are less skilled to succeed.
