I’d actually argue that world class architecture has everything to do with inspiring the people’s minds and those who’ll have a direct hand in improving the national game. Being wowed temporarily by some ‘exact replica turf’ will not… Moving people to feel inspired, to look at things with a different perspective, to look outside the box, will create the mind state that’s needed to change our national game. You should try it!
Straw man argument. The problem with our football culture has nothing to do with the lack of inspirational architecture, it's to do with sub-par coaching, something this facility will go a long way in remedying. You do realise that that will be the primary use for this place, right? To train a new generation of coaches?
You don't think an exact replica of the Wembley pitch is going to inspirational? I suspect it will have a much greater impact on those who work there than eco-sustainable technologies somehow...
@Gayestskijumpever I agree, it does look clean, modern and functional, but so does a Ford focus compared to the design of an Aston Martin. Design excellence should be reflected in all aspects of the design, from emotive architecture, quality materials, eco/sustainable technologies, through to sensitivity to context, timelessness and legacy. Sadly this building, in my opinion, looks like it lacks a lot of these facets and as a result will probably only inspire continued average aspirations.
No I dont think it will. Do You really think it will?? Do you really think that gimics will change the underlying root cause of Englands' mediocre, pub football-esque national game?? Our over-priced players probably have desso grass in their back gardens.
It actually worked
I'm going there today with my football team

Not only that, St. George's Park can fix England's problems in the technical and mental aspect of football.

Straw man argument. The project is much more than that.

Dull and dreary architecture for a supposed centre of excellence - looks like a value engineered 3 star country club.
1st?
Very nice please but the team will still lose every game

Eyeameun worked for under 17 and 21 teams.
Your optimism is admirable, but it’s going to take a lot more than a dull looking sport centre and 3star Premier Inn to fix England’s problems...
Eyeameun yeah but worked for the under 17 and under 21 teams.
@@deldia Some people are never happy unless they're being miserable and trying to infect others!
and 9 years later weve won17 wc, under 19 wc, got to a wc semi final, got to a euros final so I would say its worked...
What star is your home? 😅
