    Christoph Hildebrandt, Head of Machine Vision, Schaeffler SMB:
    What we're doing every day really is working with a new technology, and this is what I and my team members really like to work on: tech. Schaeffler needed to empower itself with in a very short amount of time to gather the technology that is needed to build, drivetrain for electronic vehicles. Generally, EV products come with a lot of risk. Schaeffler, but also external customers, are interested in reliable partners in general.
    Johannes Lebender, Assembly Technologies, Schaeffler:
    The biggest challenges in the EV industry is, without question, the fast changing environment, the complex systems, the volatile market. To face our challenges, we are in general need of high tech solutions, of good camera systems. And this is something our Special Machinery’s providing for us. And here, Cognex is their main supplier for high technology, for camera systems to meet the challenges we have to face in production.
    Christoph:
    We started already five years ago with Cognex to build proof of concepts for deep learning and took all the lessons learned into further projects we already established. With Cognex, it's possible to detect even smaller cracks, scratches, or dents with a dent just typically five microns in depth. And this still holds the possibility to detect small defects with a high sensitivity and low or zero reject rates. We have with Cognex someone who is delivering AI, edge learning solutions that we can integrate that are more robust and generally flexible, ease-of-use solutions with HMIs for our users that are touching parameters exactly where they want and need them.
    Raimund Taugner, Machine Vision Specialist, Schaeffler SMB:
    Since there are more components in our portfolio, we have to do more and more different inspections. With edge learning and deep learning, we have more capabilities to solve a wider range of applications. We do not only provide a training for our users, but also we make a user friendly interface. With Cognex software, it's very easy to create such this interface.
    Christoph:
    Cognex makes my life easier just by supporting my team members, so I have confidence in my team. But if we need the background to bring new applications -- is it the right tool with the right performance or the right tool set? Then they can call the direct contact person and get an answer in time.
    Johannes:
    To make complex systems work in automotive industry, we need special solutions. We need special camera solutions. This is right now where we need suppliers like Cognex to have deep knowledge, to have outstanding technology, to help us with the challenges we have to face.
    Christoph:
    It's always hard to make a customer happy. So if we have a challenging task and don't know whether we can solve an application, we are going with Cognex. Machine vision is not only about innovative technology, it's also about building trustful partnerships. And that's what we found also with Cognex.
