I have two points that disagree with you:
      1) I honestly think that the captain was wise enough to know that T’lyn was talented but also very opinionated and that the ridged environment of Vulcan society was going to put unnecessary pressure on her to temper her ability into Vulcan traditions instead of advancing it forward. (Simply put, he believed that T’lyn is the Vulcan version of Freddy Mercury, born in rigid Britain but shined in USA)
      2) T’lyn set a bad example and it would have lightly continued to set bad examples for the Vulcan (youth). T’lyn took a risk without facts, that is not a good example to set for Vulcans. She was lucky that it worked.

T'Lyn has been a fantastic addition to the show, and Gabrielle Ruiz has been knocking out of the park. She mentioned in her socials how she was not only inspired by Leonard Nimoy's Spock on TOS, but also Jolene Blalock's T'Pol on ENT. Episodes 4 and 5 in particular have done a great job in showing why T'Lyn works well with the environment of the Cerritos and as a member of the gang.
Some stuff I hope to see within this season for her:
    1. An adventure with Rutherford after we've seen her with Mariner, Boimler, and Tendi.
    2. Full confirmation on whether or not she really has Bendii Syndrome was just exhibiting similar symptoms.
    3. Resolution to her plot with Captain Sokel.
Also, if T'Lyn will really be considered the 5th main character and part of the ensemble, is there any particular reason why Gabrielle Ruiz is not listed among the primary cast? With her name still listed as part of the guest stars, she's pretty much in the same position as Nog and Garak from DS9; show mains for all intents and purposes sans the cast billing.

I think Captain Soko made a brilliant move putting T'lyn in Starfleet. Keeping in on his ship or transferring her to a different Vulcan ship would have worsened her sour relationship with the rest of the crew and continued to stymie her potential. Drumming her out of the fleet would have been a waste of a brilliant, if overly emotional, mind.
So as he said himself, her hot headed ways, are better suited for work in Starfleet. She may have seen it as a punishment, but so did Mariner when she was promoted and Ransom refused to accept her refusal.

Vulcans are a reflection of humanity. Spock, Sarek, and Sybok were practically strangers to one another despite being blood relatives. If the Science Academy scene in the first Abrams film is canon, they apparently think human "disadvantages" are inherited (anyone who truly knows US history will understand that is an incredibly bigoted thing to believe), and that Starfleet is where flawed Vulcans go (and of course T'Lyn's former CO does exactly this). Valeris, Sakonna, and Krinn are examples of Vulcans who commit horrific crimes. But all that means is, they're just like humans, only the emotions are suppressed.

It wasn't until they added T'Lyn that you could see how desperately they needed someone to be The Straight Man on this show.

T'Lyn is a fantastically written character and provides the much needed 'straight man' to highlight the absurdity of the show. PLEASE keep her around permanently.

I love the fact that our voice actors look so closely to their cartoon characters and we just HAVE to have another cross over. Maybe this time with Tendi and Rutherford and T'Lyn!!! It would rock if they jumped forward to when Seven of Nine now commands the Enterprise G......which is like two decades after Lower Decks operates. Not sure. Didn't check the starlog dates....my bad.

We need at least one live-action episode with the full crew. Some characters would have to be fully CGI (T'Ana and Megleemo, if the bugdet allows), Shaxs and Ransom might need some extra make-up (but not thaaat much), but I bet it's doable. We already know that it works for Boimler and Mariner.

      That happens a lot, actually.
There’s a growing trend in video games where the voice actors do mocap and lend their images to characters as well (Control and Jedi: Fallen Order/Survivor are a few examples I can name off the top of my head).

Ty'lan' is the straight women of the show now, more so then Boimler ever was when it came to such a role. He had all traits for that, but he is fixation with details, rigged adherence to rules and his perfectionism somewhat threw that off (High functioning OCD?). Ty'lan has those traits but in moderation and comes somewhat more balanced then Boimler is. A Vulcan in such a role in simple yet genius!
