G'day Ross, Yeah mate, getting away on your during these crazy times we live in, is such a great way to go camping. My camping setup is very basic mate, but there's nothing im wishing i had. I cook amazing simple meals with the gear i have, just works really well for me. Same here mate, once lock down is over i will be heading back up that way i think. @@timbates4wdadventures I noticed there's a few more subtle camera and editing techniques uses (or I possibly haven't noticed them before). Like when your walking along the river and the POV shots. Small details but it really makes it that bit more immersive.

Another great video here Tim. The Murray is big but l did get very familiar with the section in Tocumwal. I lived in a caravan park there for 3 years and it was the most incredibly peaceful and beautiful 3 years of my life. The only thing l could have asked for was to have met a partner there so l could have shared the experience with her. It is an amazing experience to wake up day after day without any worries or concerns. Whenever l need to slow down and relax l always have this experience to fall back on as a reminder of how life can be. Thank you Tim for sharing with us. Jason in lockdown Victoria.

I've spent that many nights up the Murray mate, geez, lost count. Normally off the Picola Gulf track stopping off in Nathalia on the way for a pie and coffee. I'm 35 minutes away from door to shore. Been up there in Robinvale many times, last time the heavens opened and set in for 13 hours of heavy rain, I had to decamp and take the handbrake and adventure to Willow Bend Camp Ground over the border there in Wentworth, took a cheap cabin as the swags did not cut it in those winds and rain lol. You made a cracking chill to the max video with this one cobber. No better spot. Food was ace also. cheers mate.

Another cracking adventure. Maybe you should sell those pies, how about Baties Trucking Good Pies...... l have spent a bit of time on the Murray, great spot. Just a friendly tip be very careful camping under Red Gums they have a habit of dropping limbs. That big one where you had your frothy has fresh bark tear a sign of limb drop. l and many others would hate to lose you, where would we get our solo camping/4WD fix.... You & I are of similar creed Timmy. River, campfire, swag, simple food, "sensational". Camped very close to there a couple of months ago. Might not be paradise, but you can see it from there. PS we differ on eggs (egg rings , soft), bacon (streaky), tommy sauce a must.

Takes me back a while when myself and my son used to camp on the river here in SA. I remember the white clay was undriveable when it got wet on the property and some vehicles stayed there for quite a while until the tractor could pull them out. One thing I saw a while back was one the biggest causes of injuries whilst camping was tent pegs going through the bottom of shoes when putting pegs in. Obviously you know what you are doing but might be worth mentioning for those new to the game. Thanks for the video mate, awesome as always and I'm sure that quite a few people in lockdown would have been able to escape for a short time through it.
G'day mate, Yeah, the drive into these areas are no worries if it's dry, in the wet it is a very different situation. Very slippy in spots. I did have a good pair of solid boots on for putting the pegs in. Sure have used the same way for many years. Good tip, people need to be careful. Love this Tim. Especially like when you take a few minutes to give a bit of geography or history chat in there. For mine it adds a lot to the videos that other similar channels don’t. Would love to see a bit more of it. Keep it up and stay safe.

@@glennpayne9103 not correct. Its flowing very fast and will never be clear , when that happens . It does clear up a lot when the natural flow settles .
Plenty of eagles up there I hear Tim mate. Beautiful. It’s an awesome river that Murray. Our Murray River here in WA is far less large, but still stunning. Ours is only 130 odd ks long, a far cry from 2500 haha.

I've spent that many nights up the Murray mate, geez, lost count. Normally off the Picola Gulf track stopping off in Nathalia on the way for a pie and coffee. I'm 35 minutes away from door to shore. Been up there in Robinvale many times, last time the heavens opened and set in for 13 hours of heavy rain, I had to decamp and take the handbrake and adventure to Willow Bend Camp Ground over the border there in Wentworth, took a cheap cabin as the swags did not cut it in those winds and rain lol. You made a cracking chill to the max video with this one cobber. No better spot. Food was ace also. cheers mate.

l have spent a bit of time on the Murray, great spot.
Just a friendly tip be very careful camping under Red Gums they have a habit of dropping limbs. That big one where you had your frothy has fresh bark tear a sign of limb drop.
l and many others would hate to lose you, where would we get our solo camping/4WD fix....

You & I are of similar creed Timmy. River, campfire, swag, simple food, "sensational". Camped very close to there a couple of months ago. Might not be paradise, but you can see it from there. PS we differ on eggs (egg rings , soft), bacon (streaky), tommy sauce a must.

Nice quiet spot, didn't hear one wake boat doof doof music while they throw a wash that smash's the crap out the banks. I live on the river and covid lock down in the city has been kind of nice up here.

Takes me back a while when myself and my son used to camp on the river here in SA.
I remember the white clay was undriveable when it got wet on the property and some vehicles stayed there for quite a while until the tractor could pull them out.
One thing I saw a while back was one the biggest causes of injuries whilst camping was tent pegs going through the bottom of shoes when putting pegs in.
Obviously you know what you are doing but might be worth mentioning for those new to the game.

Yeah, the drive into these areas are no worries if it's dry, in the wet it is a very different situation. Very slippy in spots.
I did have a good pair of solid boots on for putting the pegs in. Sure have used the same way for many years.
Good tip, people need to be careful.
I hope all of these lock downs finish very soon for everyone to get back out in the bush.

The river never runs clear... it has largely a mud bottom and the feral carp population keep stirring up the mud near the banks.
@@glennpayne9103 not correct. Its flowing very fast and will never be clear , when that happens . It does clear up a lot when the natural flow settles .

Plenty of eagles up there I hear Tim mate. Beautiful. It’s an awesome river that Murray. Our Murray River here in WA is far less large, but still stunning. Ours is only 130 odd ks long, a far cry from 2500 haha.

Nice beautiful spot mate I know exactly where that spot is we water ski around there every summer. Get the cheese out and cast a line in best bait there..
