I've been journaling for year but never thought about adding all the lovely things you add, including photos. I will be starting that myself. I cant tell you how much I love your journal video and how inspiring they are to me. thank you so much.

Johanna, thanks so much for this lovely video. I'm a big scrapbook gal (25 years) and am changing my 12 x 12 scrapbook pages into junk journal pages like I use to create back in the early 70's. All memories are filling the pages, movie tickets, Lots of photos, little pieces of papers from vacations with my boys, etc. People need to remember there is no right or wrong way to create you favorite memories books, do what works for you !! Your books are amazing and as always, thanks for sharing !! ~Barbie

I want to start a journal of childhood memories and stories. I don't have a great memory and am medically likely to lose my memory in old age sooner than typical. So I really want to do this! But0, all that writing!!!! I think I will try lists, bullet thoughts, and senses like you said for things that aren't full stories.

I love how you journal. Everything is so well thought out and such a pretty result. I'm really not a fan of the term "junk journal". I don't want to call my journals "junk". Everything I put in them has very special meanings to me. Thank you so much.

There’s a YT video explaining the difference between journals, “junk journals” are defined as a journal created out of things you’ve used at home that you usually would trow out in the garbage, for example, a cereal box, a tissue box, junk mail envelopes or a paper bag. Basically, a junk journal is made of materials you have decided to recycle, which is really kool.
The YT video was really interesting and fun to learn 💕

Sometimes I get really caught up about my scrapbooks being "perfect" or looking a certain way and I loove that you just encourage freedom and creativity and in that, the pages look cohesive because the same drive is behind each one! Thank you for gibing us permissionto do whatever we want!! X

❤️🌻 ... I'm so fortunate to have experienced Laec's little toes in your vids and get those peeks of his growth!! Wren is adorbs still and Rue ... no words!! She is stunning!!! Her smile is so you!! 0:27 I'm working on a memory book, not only about my daughter, but my father who is with her. The travel times were so amazing ... But, I'm sure to document my sisters and brothers who are still here ... with an emphasis on our past lives together ... again, our travels across waters, over Cali hills and valleys, the long vacations, the long weekend rides down the Sacramento Delta in my father's cruiser boat ... !! So fun to look back. I learn and have learned so much about documenting family in journals from you!!! It's amazing!!! Thank you!! My Ma may have to have her own book because she's a Hippie from the 60s, has never left Texas and omg is a very hot beautiful mess!!! Love you & Hugs to babes!!!!🌻❤️

I am finding with the pandemic we aren't out doing as much as we normally would so this is a great time to catch up on old memories. This video comes at the perfect time.

Thank you for the great tips. I don't normally write in my journals, I'm not much of a creative writer, I'm more about making art, but I have all these old photos and mementos just sitting in a box, it would be nice to get them all organized into a journal with my memories about the event. Thank you for the direction on what to write about!

Thank you so much for this… I’ve left out so much because I forget to document it and then I feel like it’s useless. You’ve inspired me to use a journal for past events that aren’t chronological. Thank you thank you!!!

Ohhh Yes, I’ve been thinking about journaling based on the pictures I have. And trying to see if I can conjure up the memory of that day and then write about it. So this is great, love it! 💙✨

Also, the video is so simple, detailed and direct to the point ♥️

It's very soothing, watching your journaling process 😊 Coincidentally, I'm journaling about me (a first for me, the focus is usually my boys) from babyhood to marriage (motherhood will be in another journal), lots of photos, no memorabilia though as my very young years are over 50 years ago! 😂 I'm still a bit of a newbie to junk journaling and always turn to you for inspiration as I love your style 💖

Lately when I break into a new journal I tent to look at my old bag of old cards and ephymera and (taking advantage that is less chunky) I put them on, sometimes just to keep all the memories in one place, other times I take the time to actually writte something about about that memory

Hello! This comment is not about this video but another one I just saw that was 3yrs ago! I know! I just found you today while looking for ways to incorporate hankies into my junk journals. The video I saw was of shabby chic very soft covers with a fold over cover with weaving in the spines. Is there a video of making them? I absolutely loved them & would like to use your printables. Please let me know where I can your video making these wonderful journals. Thanks so much!
