I honestly think people are overreacting to this whole thing, because at the end of the day they are just offering another service that most players likely won't pay for, but that's better than the issues on mobile never being addressed.
Granted it would have been much better to have a fix to the issues on mobile for free, but this is a gacha game that's whole monetization scheme is to some degree innately predatory, so of course they're going to sell features like this, it's like having a bear see a fawn stuck in a trap and expecting it to break it out and not simply eat the free meal.

@@ProkerKusakaNo, you need to wait in a queue if you don't pay for the premium membership. And wait times are 5-8hours on average (this is attested by myself and others if you look at the Google play store reviews). Then you get 15 mins to play.

so many using this in SEA i saw alot of post from people waiting for 3 hours in queue to get to cloud gaming cuz sea server have alot of players using it. i saw a screenshot that they are in 1800+ in queue and they have to wait 5 hours to enter the game for that 15 minutes trial

I play on SEA, I can confirmed that. I'll be waiting in line like 978/979 and the ETA is like 10 mins they "said" 😂 I didn't have much storage space on my phone so I downloaded cloud but hell it's even worse.

I know EXACTLY who this is for, nowadays school gives kids laptops to work on assignments at home, I can see those shitty $200 laptops running this with a $20 subscription from there parent.
But I don't think this is bad, for some people its easier to just spend $20 a month to play genshin whenever they want on their shitty computer rather than saving their money for years to get a decent pc which is a horrible investment if you can't afford it

Cloud gaming services are still at its infancy and the infrastructure are still expensive so i dont think 5$ / month subscription will cover the cost. Maybe 10 years into the future when we can reduce server cost somehow but currently this whole thing seems niche and experimental

their new launcher has about 15fps and big delay on RTX 3080 and Ryzen 5900x JFI, it so laggy so I don't see any point of using it instead of old one. Also you need it only to update the game and forget about it, you can run the game from the game folder

The horrible aspect of these playtime prices is the fact that you still CAN NOT SKIP the dialogue/cutscenes.

His 130ms is in input delay, imagine pressing ult and half a second later it activates which doesnt sound like a lot but trust me, it is. Unlike 140ms of server response time where your skill still activate on press but the dmg registers a bit later
I didn't realize this was going on, I was only concerned about the amount of new five star characters we are getting with no new four stars in between. Honestly didn't think they could stoop this low, I thought they already did.
From what he was showing of graphics and all it looks to be about on par with Genshin on PS4 (where I've played it) which is fine enough for me (I play a lot of jrpgs that use far worse graphics than this...as long as there's not constant frame drops and the like it doesn't matter that much to me how a game looks unless it just looks completely blurry).
The issue with Cloud Genshin, hell Cloud in general, is that it uses tons of your data/internet plan for your entire house (phone, router for wifi or ethernet/etc more so than even just playing online with a physical disc/digital download of the game so it may cause your bills to increase quite a bit more (an additional $20 if your lucky if not $100) if you play it heavily as it's not only just connecting to a server but also sending a constant stream of data as well (pretty sure games like this do this to some degree already but but with downloads/disc you got some data already permanently downloaded onto your device thus the amount of data being sent to and from your device will be). Which if you're a kid and try this (or you still live with your parents) I bet your parents would get pissed when they see their internet/data plans see a hike in the bills that come in. Throw in you need to throw in another $20 on top of that for Genshin/these streaming services and that's more money lost per month that wouldn't be lost with just downloading the entire game instead/getting it physically (I prefer the later tbh...it's a lot faster to download a game via disc 90% of the time for me and I don't need to worry about the store being shut down to download it again as long as the disc is in good condition if I had to delete it at some point to free up some memory for other games).
Personally I don't like cloud streaming games much at all due to the above and for the simple fact when everything's reliant on streaming to play a game you're gonna see the game crash due to disconnecting a few times probably at least a few times per week even with good internet.
i don't think it use data usage that much, if you compared to actually play the game on your PC, of course it is, but if you compare it to you streaming to a youtube or watching twitch, it's not that different in term of data usage, since it basically streaming video of the screen on their server running genshin (or games in general) and you sending input data to their server.
And now for internet bill, it may vary for each country, but i guess majority isn't based on "the more you use the more expensive it is", usually it's been packaged that if you pay for example 25$/month you get speed up to 50Mbps with some limitation that if you have reached it, the speed is gonna be slower than usual.

I actually like the new cloud thing, i feel like people are sleeping on it:
1. Free 15 minutes daily - enough time to do quick dailies on your phone
2. Storage - This thing takes 151MB of storage, compared to Genshin’s 35GB
Tbh it makes me way more motivated to log on for dailies since it takes no storage and I can do it anywhere on my phone

I thought genshin cloud has been in ages.. i used that sometimes to do daily coms when theres less people ( i delete genshin smtm cause its waste of space/ not much to do when youre AR60) but never recommend though - the waiting server feel like ages.
I think the reason they are doing this is because of the players that can’t play Wuthering waves. So they are trying to get players to play there game instead of Wuthering waves. Like how there were a lot of people saying they could t even run Wuthering waves. So they went looking for alternatives like tower of fantasy. Big brain 200 iq mode.

Tectone saying "just don't be stupid" and "know your options" are really contradicting to how he says "Genshin is a game for kids". I know he usually says it with a bit of satire, but you can't really expect a kid to think about weighing options when they are probably thirsting to play the game. I only learned about GeForce Now a year ago, finding something that is specifically for Genshin would probably make this cloud thing be easier/ the first thing they see. I could be wrong on that though

That cloud service is an obvious cashgrab and I would never pay for it when NVIDIA GeForce NOW exists. That being said, the dude is literally playing on a non-European server while being in Europe and complaining about the lag and high ping. I mean, duh?
The funny thing is that this would be way more useful for a game like HSR that's turn based. But I guess it's not like you need to quickly react to anything in Genshin, so it's probably fine.

@tectone the main reason why i think its stupid is that a phone plan that comes with a good phone that can run genshin will cost you the same amount i currently have a phone plan with a samsung a53 and i pay 20 euro's a month 10 for phone and 10 for the data so just do that.

I will say I like having all my gacha games on my phone as well and for me it's the storage space, with honkai going up to 35 GB and genshin being at 26 and wuthering at 11 and we all know thats only gonna go up and if i get ZZZ to, I have like no room for anything else (I work 24 hours shifts at my job, firefighter/EMT and can't long in every day so I do my dailies and long in that way when I'm at work) so I downloaded the cloud version to open up space for other things, but i dont plan to spend on it since i only plan to log in and do dailes and log off and 15 minutes is enough lol

And I still open it daily to get the 15 minutes a day so I won't run out I don't think, but for me it's just about making space for other games on my phone, since now I play genshin, honkai star rail and wuthering waves daily, and will be adding zzz and azur promilia in the future I need all the space I can get

Pretty popular in SEA just look at the countries where the GI Cloud is available. Alot of them are poor AF countries that can't afford a decent device.

Well gacha is a casino game. Pretty much in its name advertise what it is, the good side of it you can play for it freely if you don't gamble. But this one the 15 min sucked ass especially having the game unskippable with charging you way more and here's another problem. Some of those countries are 3rd world and have pretty shitty internet example PH(my country). So what's the intention of putting it there... probably preying on ignorant average people

cloud storage and cloud gaming are different in that, cloud is just storage and is completely normalized and fine. cloud gaming is basically a virtual machine used to play games. the issue with streaming games is that they take a ridiculous amount of bandwidth and are generally not worth the money spending on it each month when you can just go to a cafe(if your in an asian country) or you could just buy yourself a devie capabale anyways if you have the disposable income to waste it on a service like this. this service is also fairly expensive so they have to up the price to make ends meet
Honestly, I think mihoyo is actually on the right track here. I play HSR both on PC and mobile, and my ipad mini only has 64gb of storage. HSR is already 30gb and its only a year old.... I've tried to figure out a way to stream HSR onto my tablet through steam cause my PC is really beefy. Genshin is like 90gb on PC or something? Pretty soon they're gonna choke their mobile players without this. I would love to see this for HSR actually

I mean that just is any cloud service rn, its a start to something that seems like a good idea, i dont think anyone should be using it because even with a stable internet connection which surprisingly isnt very common especially if youre the kind of person looking at buying into this, the game just isnt great. delay is cloud services biggest issue & i dont see it going away for a while until more technological advancements are made. I also just generally dont like these kind of models, i think its disgusting to treat it like some casino/arcade, but its not like theyre doing anything differntly than an actual irl arcade would so its just a seperate issue entirely & not one with cloud itself. Love the idea, easily something that looks good to pay for they just need to fix the responsiveness which i dont think they can do, because if they could, we'd be able to play on any server with low ping already, its a similar solution required.

ok my biggest annoyance with this video was the fact that the guy said he was not playing on eu servers because eu has no servers then starts complaining about ping and stuttering. it doesn't matter what your game settings are you cant lower your ping. its all about the time it takes to encode the video sent it to your device and decode it all while encoding your inputs to send back too the server.
i can play cyberpunk 2077 1440p max settings 85-97fps on host (my pc)with max bitrate of 50mbs 60fps being encoded in h265 going to client (my tablet) and im looking at 8-14ms ping while being on the same network as my pc using parsec. on hotspot i get about 60-80ms ping because now the is signals bouncing from my tablet too my phone to a cell tower traveling through a cable to at&t's data center then being routed to spectrum then too my pc. this dude is playing on a server in a whole other country thousands of miles away. also keep in mind the game being encoded so its going to lose quality and look blurry its not lossless.

Funny, there are EU servers, but they are only available via special logins via Social Media. Also Tectone, NVIDIA and Sony are the main reasons many quit Genshin and Wuthering, it is not mainly the games, it is also because they entered a contract with NVIDIA and Sony wich forced them to buy the new NVIDIA client to get more games as a market pitch.
Where a few games like SnowBreak and Tower of Fantasy rejected the offer to go monthly. They did this because the majority in the word use AMD Athlon who decided to keep Free-To-Play games with possible payment options for certain perks the norm instead. Slowly again flourishing their player count. If only Wuthering Waves , Kuro Games finally decides the same. Then Genshin Impact and all of the other HoyoVerse titles can sink to the bottom on their own.

Cloud gaming require a really good Internet connection, which most likely people with low end devices don't have lol. Even with a good internet connection the game is still not really optimal right now.
Cloud games are bandwidth intensive. So he said he had 35Mbps. That is way too low. Minimum you would need is like 50Mbps. You have to keep in mind the server has to get your input (delay in ms). The server has to render it on the pc and then send you the output (bandwidth). Then you pc has to handle all that (CPU + RAM of your pc/device). This is a shitty option tbh, so you need high enough base specs to make it work.

This is for kids, who use a hand me down phone/tablet/computer and then get like a hundred bucks as allowance. I mean I paid for wow when I could only play an hour a day so my eyes would not turn square... btw it apparently worked so do try it with all your kids! :D
