Nice! I did almost the same ride this year. The third right after the White bluffs road going towards Mattawa is really fun. Goes to the old Saddle Mtn lookout and down to Crab Creek rd. Stay right after the lookout for a fun rough ziz zag dirt road down the other side of the mountain or ride along the top for more great views and one more option to go down the back side. Lots or trails/ roads up there. Then I come out at Beverly and make a loop. Let me know if you need a guide haha. I'll let you try an XR650 with a steering stabilizer. It's awesome. Easy to steer quickly if needed but 80 mph on gravel is also no problem!
@@impactmotochannel Let's go! I'm riding around Finley most weekends. Until it gets a bit warmer. I did find some fun stuff by Plymouth/ Mcnary recently though. Saturday looks hopeful.
@Impact Moto ohh okay, you should look into a Sutton oil cooler, I use mine like an adventure bike, oil temp stays right around 240 might help you out a bit
Yeah, it's a bummer for sure, but I don't feel like rebuilding it anytime soon. Have looked into the oil cooler. Glad to hear it can keep the temps down. I will probably do that before the BDR this summer. Considering taking the XRL on the new ORBDR!

Excellent news. I was wondering about getting up top! We should get together sometime for a ride. A little cold at the moment though!

Pro Taper bars, but I'm not sure what bend. They were on the bike when I bought it.
how are cars waiting behind you? my xr goes just as fast as a car will ever need to go, no one is ever piled up behind me
I am geared down and my bike has a history of overheating. I try to keep it between 55-60 mph for longer hauls on pavement.
