It took me a week to settle on a hamster fursona. I felt none of the other species represented a non-threating personality that wasn't loyal to anyone individual and who just wanted to make everyone happy.
It took me weeks to know one of mine, being a protomoth (still working on the name of the species), the name is cashew (he/him they/them), I see them as a reflection of myself, the ideal version of me, they’re more charismatic and kind than I am and they don’t get so mad whenever they get harassed, I hope I learn how to draw though, saddeningly I suck, and I really want to draw him ;-;.

I love how you talked about someone choosing a fursona to show qualities of themselves: I chose a dog fursona, specifically a yellow lab, because I feel like they are the embodiment of happiness T^T I am a really positive person and I think my sona reflects that really well: I'm just here to have fun and live life to the fullest ^^ Also Finn knocking the glass off of the table was hilarious haha xD
I spend AGES making my sona, i thought hard about my favourite colours, favourite food, my personality, my favourite animal species, etc and then i had to choose a name which also took a long time
took me about a year to design one. took me a extra month to name it. i eventually settled on a character named rose. a mature sabertooth cat that likes to bake. she has a whole backstory and everything.
My fursona is just me but in a different Universe with a better life and a better me People's fursonas means different things to them. Everyone's reasons would be something else
I chose a black panther for my fursona, because it represents more the kind of me I want to be. Mine is a superhero as well, so I picked it because I want to be a strong, but loveable person who changes the world for the better.
My fursona was a costum from one of my fav artists and desingers and it took a month to make so it gave me plenty time to connect with em and i adore em now, im proud that they are my fursona!

In topic of this video, I went for a dragon as my fursona. My fursona's personality is a mixture of reflecting my own interests (running) and personalities (intelligent, easy-going, shy, etc) and new ideas I'm testing (energetic, out-going, etc). Although, I must say that dragons are just awesome. Great video, Finn! I look forward to the next one :D

Personally I only lasted 5 whole months designing my fursona, because I ended up making him from scratch over and over and over, until I got the desing I use today

Hey @FinnThePanther I know some greyfurs and they told me about the "original" definition. That people can only have one fursona because it's literally them but in the fandom. They said there could be a lot of OCs tho, those are the anthro animals with a given look and personality. As far as I know both the fursona and the OCs have names. Have you ever heard of this before? Are we using the therm "fursona" correctly nowadays?
I was actually a lion very briefly when I first officially became a furry and there wasn't really any deep reason outside of being a huge fan of The Lion King. I eventually decided on a coyote after seeing some vids of them being adorable. My fursona is basically just me as a coyote. I appreciate that people are able to be a lot more creative than me with their characters though. I have teased the idea of creating a lion fursona that's a more confident version of me.
Do still make that color of purple for fur, I've been trying to find that color of purple on your suit. There seems to be a lack of dark purples in fur colors. If its still available, do you know the name?
I've been working on an alien moth fursuit, but I can't find a dark enough purple to match the orange and yellow furs I already have. I am also quite glasses reliant, so I was going to go with the multiple eye route to widen my field of vision, and I realized why not a whole lot of people go the multiple eye route. It's a lot of work, but I know it will be worth it if I am conformable.
Instead of a foam base, I'll probably create my own 3d printed base. Mainly because it's more accurate with the eyes, and I can 3d print the follow me eyes to fit the head.
