@@AlexSwan it is a small tube that looks like super glue and comes with the weather shields. The primer basically helps with the adhesion to the paint. Hope this helps 👍🏻
@@cruizintomatoes2429 ok great. Thanks. I previously bought a set of OCAM weather shields that didn’t come with the primer. I warmed up the adhesive a little with the heat gun prior to sticking it on, which helps as well. Sold the car after 5 years and the weather shields were still going strong.
@@AlexSwan I know that feeling and have used OCAM ones also but with the Prado and Pajero I’ve found that you can’t beat the genuine ones as long as you’re willing to forget having weather shields on the rear doors
No problem at all. The primer is really important especially on 4x4 as it helps promote the adhesion between the 3M tape and the paint. I hope this helps you mate 👍
Does the window go all the way up with no resistance? I feel like the clips may take away some space for the windows, so they have to force their way into the door frame.
The clip doesn’t impact the window going all the way up although the drivers window needed a few times at first to go all the way up. After this never had a problem at all. Just follow these directions and don’t stress as it’s an easy job 👍🏻
Thank you for this video because I could not figure out how to install the brackets for the death of me
@@sailorgang86 You are most welcome 🤗
Thank you to show us, make the job easy
You are welcome!
With regard to the clips, they clip onto the steel part of the window frame?
There’s a sticker on the weather shields saying must not be installed without the proper primer. What is the primer they’re talking about?

@@cruizintomatoes2429 thanks for the reply mate, do you apply the primer onto the adhesive or the paint? Cheers
@@AlexSwan I put it on the adhesive as it makes it easier to put on and that’s what many other brands of weather shields advise to do
