Been going to Whitby for years, but never been while the Goth weekend is on, will have to look at going in October in our new van 🙂 Lovely walk around video. The Endeavor used to be docked in Stockton on the river Tees, i have jumped off it while doing the Rat Race, great fun 🙂

Sitting here scribbling notes of where to visit, you're doing almost the exact same trip we've planned for the summer! Sadly it seems we've missed the Goths, some of those outfits look amazing. You're right about the "oldy worldiness" there's a quaintness to these seaside resorts that is just very special.

There’s lots of other dress-up weekends in Whitby during the Summer. Don’t think the next Goth one is until October, but there’s always the SteamPunk one, and the Pirate one is just brilliant - you never realised how many places Johnny Depp could be at once until you’ve been there. Even the N. Soul weekends are fun, because all the pubs play the music and have dancing, and all the old codgers dress up in Fred Perry and pretend they know what they’re doing!

Usless fact alert. The small pier at the side of the little beach you spoke about in the harbour is the oldest pier in the world.
