Very nice build, thank you. I have to say that castles in Valheim are really just for decorative purposes rather than defensive purposes. They excel at looking pretty, especially when build by a Valheim build master like JJ, but I am disappointed that the devs don’t make them effective defensively too. It’s usually impossible to hit targets directly below you from a wall and no matter how you build, practically nothing beats the basic trench and or raised ground wall for defence.
technically, there ware ways to mitigate that, by building firing holes in the walls themselves. im more worried about how easily a couple of trolls can destroy your base if left unchecked.
@@RaZeyLWindBladE I agree. My bases always have a moat. I guess I just dont see too many build videos with one as they are not that pretty. Also Iron Gate need to give us draw bridges!
I would say it is fine, if you wanted more land, you have the backside of the build that you can stretch out into the ocean if you wish, or even go big and attach the yard to the shoreline and build another castle 🏰, so your fields are between both secure defensive positions. You would also get a very nice dock and a protected river you could use for fishing 🎣.
Can you make a vid revisting older builds where all the uncovered wood already rot away? Love the builds, but having to cover everything with roofs always bothered me!
Even your "simple" builds are very beautiful. This one lovely and functional and far more interesting looking than anything I have ever built! Great job sir.
for me, most of the time laps only enjoyable because of the music.. because either the camera angle shows too little, or it's in a shadowed area that, due to low light also can't show much... nice build though.. gonna re-plan some parts of it for sure (balcony above the kitchen probably gonna have a proper upper floor as a treasury or "study" room.. somehow repurpose the tower as magic study..
I love small functional builds like this. Something that can actually be built through regular gameplay instead of expansive builds most people feature.
Such a cool build. Love that its mostly all early game materials, a lot more of a cozy feeling.

Kitchen fire doesn't cover the whole castle, so... hm.
