Thank you for this video awesome, simple I like it. 👍👊🤘
Just perfect
Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial, you’ve got a new subscriber!
I had a hell of a time catching a scared stray dog this week. Next time there’s a dog in need, I’ll be prepared.
Absolutely. No problem. One thing that I have since thought of that can reduce harm to the animal is using a coated cable. They sell them alongside bare cable and you can also sometimes find them at pet stores. If you use a coated cable the only thing different you have to do is strip the coating off where you are going to add the stops/ferrules (and make sure you by the right size stops/ferrules for the cable diameter not the cable and coating diameter).
Cool just like mine except yours is two peace, great ideal makes it shorter for oak baskets. Thanks for sharing.
Exactly. I'm able to take it with me everytime I go out on the line now.
Nicely done. Safely caught and released the vise unharmed!!! Lol
Thanks for the video
Haha the vise put up a good fight though.
that's a pretty darned good catch pole. looked excellent! LIKED!
i guess Im asking randomly but does anybody know of a way to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Enzo Alonzo Instablaster =)
@Cyrus Thatcher Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Cyrus Thatcher it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
@Enzo Alonzo glad I could help :)
Amazing idea thank you.
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video. Excellent design, nice job. Question for you: I need to make a similar catch pole 12 feet long to reach and pull down Palm tree pods and remove other dead matter from palm trees. Would you use the Rigid aluminum conduit? Would that be light enough at 10-12 feet long? I was also thinking of screwing 2 sections of 6 feet together so it would be stronger and more stable with that joint in the middle and I could collapse it down to store it.
Thanks. I think the 1 inch rigid aluminum conduit would be plenty strong and light enough for what you are looking for even at 10-12 ft (the original piece I cut to make this was a 10 foot stock piece). You could reinforce the joint with screws, but I don't think it would be necessary. In engineering typically 5 threads engaged gives you sufficient strength from a threaded joint and this had over 5 threads engaged when fully assembled.
Easy and affective
Thanks.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. How is the JB Weld holding up after a few years?
It is holding up great still. I've been using it with every animal to help dispatch.
@@NobleSavageOutdoors thank you!
Will be building one of these for sure. I may have to do something different for the handle though as I don't have a lathe
An old plastic pull handle from any lawn mower or something broken would work just fine or drill a hole in a 1 inch dowel and cut it to length.
@@NobleSavageOutdoors That actually sounds like a good plan. I thought about hand carving one but that sounds a bit overboard. lol
@@DDFJ1230 I'm thinking about using an old umbrella handle!?!
Lotta work 4 a handle,,, 4" peice of conduit drill hole thru n walla !!!!
Tom Catt It's a lot of work trapping too, but I do it because I enjoy it, and I'll take any excuse I can to use my lathe.
I recessed hole in the handle so crimp button set below surface of handle and crimped another button on other side of handle to keep in place
I was thinking about doing the same thing, but I have been using mine a lot and haven't had any issues with the ferrule getting in the way or causing any problems.
Do you have one made of pvc you can upload?
I don't have one made of PVC because I don't think it would be strong enough. First, animals will and do try to bite the end of the catchpole and I think after a few uses, PVC would start breaking apart from animals biting it. If you continued to use it, you would likely have a sharp pointy end that would tighten around the animal and might injure it. Second if you can successfully work the PVC catchpole around the animal without it biting and breaking the end, then you have to tighten it down on the animal. Animals tend to put up a significant fight when you sinch it tight. I can't imagine trying to hold a coyote, dog, or even a raccoon down and maneuver it with a PVC pole that keeps bending all over the place and possibly might break in half on me.
Where is the part where we add the second part?
Not sure what you are referring to?
Where did you get that clothes line thing at that only goes one way until you release it?
I think I bought mine on eBay. There are links to eBay and Amazon in the description.
@@NobleSavageOutdoors One last question, how much did it cost total to make it?
It's tough for me to say total cost because I got the conduit free. But probably looking at 20-30 bucks.
Did not see the connection of the 2 sections
When you buy 1 length of 1" aluminum conduit, 1 coupling typically comes on one of the ends. If it doesn't, you should search or ask for a 1" aluminum conduit coupling.
goood ////////////////////////////
Thanks!
We are manufacturer of dog catcher
Never seen threaded conduit, from the sound of it on the table I’m pretty sure it’s water pipe not conduit bet it was in the plumbing dept not electrical
It's electrical conduit. Got it from my dad's shop who owns an electrical contracting company.
Stay in your lane, dan. Aluminum RMC is used in exposed industrial applications where conditions may be corrosive to steel. It is probably not available at your local home improvement store. You may want to put some Noalox on the threads of the coupling, to prevent it from corroding and seizing.
I stand corrected, I also worked for approx 10 years in commercial electrical installation, just never seen it...👍
I will use it to catch iguanas
Never thought of that, that's not a bad idea. No need to worry about them up here. Good luck!
@@NobleSavageOutdoors I have iguanas all over my yard
@@NobleSavageOutdoors will the wire hurt it?
You may want to try making one with plastic coated wire, because they don't have fur to protect their skin.
@@NobleSavageOutdoors ok I will do that
