There are 4 Asian districts in Paris:
    - 13th arrondissement: Indochinese and Chinese cuisines
    - Belleville (20th arrondissement): Chinese cuisine
    - Rue Sainte-Anne/Rue des petits champs (1st arrondissement): Japanese and Korean cuisines
    - Nearby Arts et Métiers (3rd arrondissement): Chinese cuisine

Yes the viet food in paris is much better than the chinese food in paris. several chinese restaurants owner told me in paris that there is no competition and no motivation to do better. Hence their food is so bad. I'd say their food is worst than even our fake chinese food here in north america (chop suey)

he has a Cantonese bias for Chinese food. He kinda came off as Fujianese and Wenzhounese food isn't worth trying because it isn't Cantonese or one of the known Chinese foods. Kinda weird tbh.

lol, there are more Chinese on the west coast than in whole Europe combined...thus, the food here in the states depending on where you re at is definitely authentic. You got Cantonese, Hunan, Sichuan cuisine...in Europe it`s mostly CHINESE. period.

@@spartanwarrior1 You make a good point on the numbers being there for the West Coast. I've only been to SF/northern CA on the west coast, so can only comment on what I've tried there. I'm not saying there's not authentic food there, just what I've tried in the US/Canada (mostly East Coast), hasn't been nearly as authentic as what I've tried here in Paris where there there are many specific types of Chinese food - yunnan, wenzhou, cantonese, sichuan, xian, beijing, guangzhou, etc. It may be less diverse in the rest of Europe, but I haven't lived anywhere else long enough to speak to that :)

0:43 it’s not really a proper Chinatown, asians in the 13ème are a lot of vietnamese and chinese (mostly wenzhou) + other indochina diaspora (cambodia, laos, teochew, canto)
There the japanese/korean district at “Rue Sainte Anne” near the Opera district.
And outside of the 13ème, there is a street named “Rue au Maire” which is full of chinese (restaurants, groceries etc)

When I went to France we visited Lyon, and stayed right next to a Japanese restaurant. It was late in the day, and we were tired so we ate there instead of trying to find something "local." The menu was pretty standard, but the food was excellent. We decided to try for a "Chinese" restaurant the next day. It looked kind of pan-Asian to me, but the food looked good. Unfortunately it was closed and we were moving on to a different town.

when i go to a food place and see low prices i always think about the homeless people that beg on the street side. if you can make a sandwich that even those beggars can afford after they recieve some change from people, that is amazing. specially in the winter when it's ugly and cold out side , being able to eat a warm good sandwich , is amazing. warm food is a big psichological thing. very important. you can make affordable street food. you just need to be less greedy. Putting a smile on someone's face with a warm sandwich brings you closer to whatever God you believe in.

Parisian here, and, to be fair, in terms of french food, if your experience is mainly from Paris, I can understand why you'd find the italian food superior.
Best french food tends to be where the best products grow. Lyon is the culinary capital of the country, but if you spend a bit of time in wine countryside, you'll never struggle finding *absolutely* incredible restaurants for a decent price.
Paris has ironically enough a lower level regarding french food. Still, if you look for great places, you can find some.

London has a nice Chinatown. I think that would have been a better comparison for Asian food in Europe too, albeit it’s not EU.

Does many people think New York is the staple for (Viet) food? Don't get wrong, they have amazing places but their Vietnamese food is really bad. Boston is way better and he's been there. I'm shocked how many times he's mentioned New York.

That's not $15 pho. 14.90e would be like $17 (guesstimate), plus, and no one ever include this but the fees when you convert over so than that's like about $19.

I believe it was less than that, but yeah no tip helps too! Tip is easily 15-20% added cost.
