@@ilaarokeP cool. With this type of sparring, can each side choose how long or thick the stivk would be? Or each one will have the same stick?

@@yourfellowpilgrim In my regular training it's symmetrical weapon, but for instance the Dog Brothers experiment a lot with asymmetrical weapons.
Now that I think of it I actually had a full contact sparring match with a guy who wanted to use short stick. We fought in an old wartime trenches, so the short stick was actually a very good choice for him.

@@yourfellowpilgrim The stick sizes are discussed beforehand. You should not let the opponent choose too heavy sticks, the regular ones can already break bones.

@@ilaarokeP I see. Makes sense. Play with something you can handle type of thing. Awesome.

What do they call a Tuhon that can’t teach his students to consistently avoid mutual destruction?
    Bad.

Tuhons who spar honestly with their students are rare --- because they are concerned with truth and reality rather than propagating myths and lies. Every Tuhon who concerned with truth and actively spars will get hit. Personally, I am willing to put my money where my mouth is. Find me a Tuhon who will first be willing to spar with me...and if they can avoid mutual destruction in an honest exchange I'll pay you $500

@@FMASource There is one….but he doesn’t pay you to market for him and he challenged many of your claims. Of course a true master will train his students to challenge and defeat him….and this one has. Of course he can be hit. But mutual destruction? No. That’s just an error that may occur in training and you can learn to stop it from happening again.
Heck, many of his seniors instructors would be open to meeting and moving around with you in a constructive way, but you’ve slammed that door for whatever reason. Don’t need your $500. I just care about the preservation of the system and it’s incredible training methodologies.

if these are rattan sticks, a powerful blow to a bone like ellbow or knee cap could finish ur training for a few months.
oh and id go for these targets 100%.
so whats the point of a fight like this? being crippled for months?

Lots of reasons. Test of skills. Learn how to deal with fear and adrenalin. Also to get respect for the sticks. The sticks represent swords... When sparring with soft sticks people tend to lose respect and end up crashing and clinching. Not done every week, but once in a while.
