Chelsea's love for Sandy the waitress is a great example of why I missed the podcast. @@tanglekelp1857 Also, I would add that the first Scream was a movie about killers being inspired by horror movies, so characters being aware of horror movie tropes help them survive and "counter" the killers. Fun piece of trivia: The guy who was singing in the car is an acting coach now, though he also still acts. He was also only 19 or 20 in this movie. Apparently he was Pete and the other guy was Vinnie, though.
I'm committed to not getting spoiled and i've never seen these movies before so i've been watching one of the movies then listening to your list then watching the next movie. I've been at this for days but it is worth it.
So glad we're all starting to come to terms with the fact that the original Friday the 13th is one of the all-time worst starts to a franchise in movie history.
To be honest 2,4 and 6 are the only really good Fridays. The rest are varying degrees of bad. I liked Tina's storyline in 7 but the rest of that film sucks.
@@thejon93rd No love for Jason X? It's wildly stupid, like a lot of the later Fridays, but at least it seems to be intentional. Stuff like the VR campers, Uber Jason getting launched out of the exploding ship toward the escaping crew and getting turned into a shooting star by badass motherfuckin' Brodski, "Guys, it's OK! He just wanted his machete back!" and so many more over-the-top moments - it's pure shlock and reveling in it, almost to the point of being a horror comedy. Not a great horror film in that regard, but I'd definitely prefer watching Jason X over _Jason Takes the Ferry_ or Part III and its dazzling 3D extravaganza of "Whoa! It's comin' right at us!" every 5 minutes.
@@drpibisback7680 I love Jason X. It's (arguably) the funniest of the series. I kinda love all of the Friday the 13th movies (even the ones at the bottom of my list, like Part 8 and the original). They're dumb, but dependable and always great to watch with friends. Can't wait til this ridiculous lawsuit is over so we can finally get the inevitable Part 13 and Friday the 13th: The Game - Part 2 alike.
As far as iconic characters or elements of series, check out either "early installment weirdness" or "growing the beard" on TV Tropes. And the main appeal of Friday the 13th before the hockey mask was cool kills, which is funny considering that's what the channel is about, making them sort of obsolete in a way.

I'm glad the podcast is back. Watching this before my first day of class tomorrow ✨
So happy to see the podcast back and you two on screen again. And what an interesting one to start off on
It's back, yes! Can't wait to see more of Chelsea's exceptional work!
THE RETURN OF A LEGEND! so happy to have the podcast back 😭
I was waiting for this, 15 seconds in already know it’s going to be a great return!
37:55 no Chelsea don’t give into him! Reggie is definitely a main character !
There is just simply nothing on this planet that brings me more joy than Chelsea’s smile 🥰
Fun piece of trivia: The guy who was singing in the car is an acting coach now, though he also still acts. He was also only 19 or 20 in this movie. Apparently he was Pete and the other guy was Vinnie, though.
Yes, the Podcast is back and the topic couldn't be a more interesting one.
I would love if y'all did this with the Halloween series
I'm committed to not getting spoiled and i've never seen these movies before so i've been watching one of the movies then listening to your list then watching the next movie. I've been at this for days but it is worth it.
Funny how Chelsea compared Demon to Shaggy from Scooby Doo when Miguel Nunez was in the first live action Scooby Doo movie
The podcast has returned!
I'm excited
So glad we're all starting to come to terms with the fact that the original Friday the 13th is one of the all-time worst starts to a franchise in movie history.
To be honest 2,4 and 6 are the only really good Fridays. The rest are varying degrees of bad. I liked Tina's storyline in 7 but the rest of that film sucks.
@@Xehanort10 I agree. 2, 4 and 6 are definitely the top 3 Friday films. Next 3 (for me) would be the remake, 5 and 9.
Excited to see the podcast back you both are so incredible and are such an inspiration. I love hearing you both talk about growing up in Michigan I’m from Saginaw but I lived in Midland and spent a lot of time with family in Detroit so it’s very nostalgic. I think all of your vids are great I love all the new stuff you both are doing within the channel and outside of it. Stay safe out their and be careful I sadly now live in place where people don’t take this whole thing seriously so I’m worried about everyone just because of all my family I’ve lost to the pandemic. Seeing the channel grow from where I started at Jason X makes me really happy even in these trying times I hope you both stay prosperous and happy, keep the great videos coming!!!
James is a lucky dude. The more.i hear Chelsea talk the more attractive she gets.
I agree
On the real: The original Friday the 13th is one of the worst slashers I've seen. A lot of the sequels are bad, but way more entertaining than the first.
Yeah, it’s the worst of the franchise. Even the worst Sequels are still fun.
@@gvidovaldmanis6377 I don't like most of the sequels but they're entertaining just from Jason alone.
@@tylerwade3682 I like all of the movies Except the original.
Always great to see a Dead Meat Podcast!
Seriously though, I have a bone to pick you with guys! Jason Takes Manhattan has that squirrelly sanitation worker talking about the toxic waste! :)
