I absolutely enjoy this application. I tested it yesterday and it's very good at explaining thingsl AI has come so far. Even on my NVDA screenreader, some of the commands don't work. luckily, it's not a big deal.
Thanks Sam I was wondering about this new app and couldn’t see how it would really be all that useful considering how I use it on my mobile device which I love but your explanation was awesome and I do see myself able to use some of these features and I will be installing it soon Thanks for a great review.
I've been using it since day 1 of it's release. Very useful. I'm pleased they brought it to the desktop (on Windows). Thanks for another great video, Sam.
I love the fact that you can use it on the windows computer and if you needed to see the text easier for remaining Vision you can use the Magnifier on the computer
@@connieorsini3767 you’re welcome to also look into the dictation feature on the computer which I believe is shift plus H I think it is you can use the dictation feature to ask questions with the be my AI on the computer instead of typing it in. I know on the iPhone, you can enable voice control and accessibility settings to where you can just use your phone hands-free with the Be My Eyes app when voice is turned on you can still use voice control for dictation and instead of hitting the send button with your finger you can just use the voice command to send itby saying send a message
This Be My Eyes app for Windows is pretty cool. It would be pretty cool to have a real time back-and-forth conversation through this app for windows. It would make things so much easier. Also, just so you know the Envision Assistant app is coming to PC soon for beta could you do a review on that? I think there would be some cool features you’d like to test out and review.
See, when you had it describe the picture of you reading a book with the headset, I was hoping your follow up question would be "Is he hot?" That would be a ery practical application for the tech in dating apps..
Can someone guide me to a page magnifier. I need 3X magnification due to macula deterioration. This is for kindle use. I’ll be extremely grateful for your time and direction.
Look at some of Sand videos explaining the Windows Magnifier. You can launch it by pressing the Windows key and the + key. To make it it larger hold the Windows key and tap the + key. To make it smaller hold the windows key and tap the - key. To close it press windows key and escape key.
I heard an interview with the BeMyEyes CEO and on the matter of having volunteers having access to your desktop he indicated there are privacy considerations that are causing them to go slow on that. Seems reasonable to be cautious.
I wonder if it can help with gaming and PDF files!!! I hate having to try and read PDF files all the friggin' time because companies refuse to put stuff in word documents...!
I find Adobe Acrobat Reader with appropriate accessibility settings will do a decent job of OCRing and reading even otherwise inaccessible PDFs. Not as good a result as when the PDF is created to be accessible, but at least it is something.
@motobojo2 Oh yeah, I know about that :) Sadly, it is very much lacking... PDFs I need to read have importantly sectioned content that A.C can't properly convert or optimize, and even then, if I want it to do better, I need to pay for a subscription, which I'd rather jump off a cliff than give the greedy a-holes at Adobe ANY MORE of my money.

Very nice to see important apps like this rolling out to other platforms.👍
Sam, this was fascinating. I will definitely install it and update you.

So is this only the be my AI portion of be my eyes? No ability to call the volunteer?

Call the Microsoft Disability Answer Deck for help on windows.

It does not currently work with PDFs or other documents. It is a good tool for photos.

How does this interact with screen reading software?
So far, I haven't seen any problems. Althiugh, I haven't tested it fully. You may run into keyboard shortcut issues though.
It works well with screen reader software. However, it still lacks some features which should be added over time.
can some review orcam ind have have diffrent people try one pece of accable teck
