Great effort for making this video. This offers a fresh perspective of travelling around Phuket on budget without a bike. I hope tourists and myself can travel to Phuket soon.
Thankyou for the video dear. We will be staying in Patong so how do we use the bus to travel to phuket town and back? Also the prom thep cape. Please guide 🙏 do we use the smart bus or this one?
You can use both, The smart bus only runs up and down the west coast which can be used when traveling to and from resort areas such as kamala, kata Rawai etc. The blue buses can be used when traveling to phuket town or other areas that are not covered by the smart bus the destinations are listed on the side of the buses but to get from one area to another you will always have to go via phuket Town as this is the destination link hub.
I'm currently looking into it, so yes its on it's way but there are a few downfalls unfortunately with the smart bus which is why it's not really taken off
Great way of transportation. I was using them to go from Karon to Phuket town. Do you might know if the Smart bus has started to operate again? Thanks.
It's always nice to see Phuket. Especially with less traffic and tourists. I always ride around and see this bus but have never taken it. Next time for sure.
@Thailand Tony Thanks for the quick reply. Are you staying in Thailand as a resident? I'm in Vietnam now and want to take my wife there during our honeymoon. BTW, I'm also a UA-camr.
Great video! I've just subscribed. My wife and I are moving to Phuket (Chalong) in a couple of months and we had lots of questions about how these busses ran. You answered almost all of them for us! We would be catching the bus to Phuket Town or over to Kata or Karon most likely. How hard is it to flag the busses down in the Chalong traffic circle? Are there bus stop signs to stand at so the driver will be looking for you? Thanks!
Yes there are certain areas where the buses stop but generally if you make the driver aware you want to get on and he can safely stop they normally do... Overtime you will get to know the main bus stops in each area as your riding the buses plus they are great fun too 🙂
I remember catching one of those from Chalong to central and then back after the cinema prior to renting a car! They were so unreliable time wise, waiting in Chalong for ages for it to turn up! So low, used to give me back ache! 40baht!! Used to be 20! We were just cheap Charlie's! 😂😂 Ki-neow!
Hi Cris, I've been looking in to the smart Bus as the idea is good and it covers the area's tourist actually wanna be able to go but there are some major downfalls when it comes to payment a real shame.
Thailand Tony I love Thailand, and Phuket, but they need to get over the taxi/tuk tuk mafia in Phuket. The only reason there is not a good transport network on the the island is because of thinking it will put the tuk Turks out of business. I disagree as it makes me hire, which I don’t want to a moped instead.
Honestly, I do not see what all the fuss is about regarding wearing masks, personally, I do not find them a problem to wear but it will depend on the type of material, there's a lot of choices, so it's just a case of finding the ones that suit you best 👍
Thailand Tony, here in South Africa being winter and all, we personally struggle a lot as after half an hour it starts to feel like we are suffocating.
Thank you for an informative video.
Good rides.. Greetings from Australia, Perth... ...///

Thank you Tony. Thats how I’ll be getting around next time, unless I really need to go somewhere specific. This has made me miss it even more now.

Loved the Karon scenes. My first trip to Thailand was in Karon. Cheers Tony.

That's one of the pleasures of Phuket, you can easily have many different kind of weather on the very same day 😁.

they are great fun 😄
Am I understanding correctly that you don't need to purchase a bus ticket prior to getting on the bus? You just jump on and pay on your stop?
Hi, yes you jump on the driver will come around at some point and collection the fare which should be displayed inside the bus normally around 40b
@Thailand Tony Thanks for the quick reply. Are you staying in Thailand as a resident? I'm in Vietnam now and want to take my wife there during our honeymoon. BTW, I'm also a UA-camr.

I expect chalong pier is very quiet tony ?
Yeah unfortunately it's not great 🥺 that area really relies on people taking dive or island trips from the pier

What could be the time for the last bus from Phuket Old Town?
Love the mask , my wife and I want to come to Phukett , Patong this coming March , I just hope and pray everything will be ok by then
hopeful by March of next years thing will be back to somewhere more normal 👍
How to know the schedule for the bus
The smart bus goes from rawai beach via kata , karron, patong to the airport, and back . But is expensive for short journeys.

How bad is the mask in that humid weather?

Loved Thai buses, not like Western air-con subs on wheels .
Same here!
Thanks
