According to the internet: Bang Chan (3RACHA) and Changbin are the composers and lyricists for the song "JJAM" by Stray Kids. 3RACHA is an in-house production team made up of Stray Kids members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, who have written and produced most of the group's releases. I am 77 yr old Army and baby Stay! Always learning new things. As a teen my crush was Bobby Darin! lol!
Thank goodness I’m not alone. I’m so happy there’s more Stays over 70 out there! I’ve been a Stay for a number of years now, one of those caught by Gods Menu. The rabbit hole was deep but very wonderful.
Bang Chan (leader and member of 3RACHA) handles about 50% of the beatmaking directly (51.44% exactly across all credits), or if he has not made the beats himself, he is directly choosing the beats from other makers. Versachoi is a frequent collaborator of theirs and makes a lot of the beats as well (he is a close friend with Bang Chan and they are the same age). Other beatmakers are within their label's Producing Lab like HotSauce (producing duo), Hong Jisang, and more. Producers outside of JYPE (or former Producing Lab producers) that they frequently collaborate with include Nickko Young, Millionboy, 3SCAPE, Full8loom, and more. 3RACHA (members Bang Chan, Changbin, and HAN) are credited on nearly every song as lyricists and composers. Every other member has 17 or more credits as lyricists and/or composers on SKZ tracks.
You should listen to their album intros! They talk about the process of creating, writing and recording their songs! And they do have a performance video for JJam already! They just started promotion stages for it in Korea so a bunch of live performance videos should be coming out soon!
my understanding of how to pronounce jjam is that the "jj" is pronounced almost like the ch in chase or chop or like saying "j" but pushing it through your front teeth rather than putting your tongue on the roof of your mouth. it's word play on the english jam but also the korean word 재미 which means like fun or enjoyment.
there’s a lot of experimental stuff like this throughout their discography. A few recommendations are Give Me Your TMI, The Tortoise & The Hare, Maze of Memories, Side Effects and Silent Cry
You should definitely do a reaction to a Stray Kids Guide. C: a lot of your questions get answered and you'll get to know more about the members and the group as a whole! ❤️
Yes!!! JJAM is totally a new flavor of their style! Experimentation is part of their signature sound but this one is particularly Frankenstein of them in the best way lolol. Changbin said he (along with Chan) wrote this song while he was in a rut - that he wanted to just have fun and prove he could make something like this again. They didn’t hold back one bit! There are 3 distinct sections that feature the sub-units of the group (Rachas) and the live performances have been SO MUCH FUUNNNNNN!!!
In the intro for this album, they've said this song is the most SKZ song of all the songs on the ATE album. hehe :D I wouldn't say it's new as they really love their EDM. I'm not a musician or anything so I don't know the term for the genre of this music, but I would guess it's like dub step? I think it's similar to EDM, not sure honestly. But they do have tracks that kinda compare to this one - first in my head is Item.
Credits for Jjam... Lyrics by Bang Chan, Changbin Composed by Bang Chan, Changbin, RESTART, Chae Kang-hae Arranged by RESTART, Chae Kang-hae, Bang Chan
Chan does most of their music. He said today this was a contender to be the title track for Rockstar. They pushed to have it on Ate because it was designed to show what each of t sub units can do
- It's just 'Jam ' The pronunciation in English for jam is very close to Korean word for funny (Jaem) and when Korean is Romanized the J sound you use in word Jam could be spelled with 'JJ' is what I was thinking could be part of the idea in the title. - Chris/Chan is mostly behind creating the beats. - I would say most of their newer albums have their own "Jjam" b-side. Like Item on 5-Star. :)~
STAY/ALPHAZ🐺 on deck. JJAM is a vibrant celebration of fun, unity and the joy of living in the moment. The lyrics are filled with playful metaphors and energetic calls to action, encouraging listeners to let go of their worries and join in the collective experience of enjoyment. The repeated references to jam and peanut butter jelly serve as metaphors for sticky, sweet, and irresistible nature of fun they are promoting. The lyrics emphasize the importance of togetherness and share experiences. The message of liberation and enjoyment is a central theme in JJAM making it a powerful anthem for living life to the fullest.
I’d be interested in knowing if there was a bit of wordplay with the title. JJAM in Korean means spare time or free time and pronounced “jam”. JAM means fun in Korean and is pronounced the same way. And then of course there are the English meanings such as fruity preserves and of course the musical meaning of jamming. 😂
Their beats come from many places. Some are made by 3racha (especially Chan), others are made in conjunction with other producers, and some are discovered from or submitted by external producers and they then tinker with it to fit the Stray Kids style. As to whether this feels different, yes and no? They have a way of reworking things to keep it fresh but this feels like it's in the same vein as Freeze and Megaverse in their dubstep bag. Since edm, and dubstep by extension, is a very core SKZ genre, it doesn't feel unexpected to me but the way it's put together still feels very unique and refreshing.
All three of 3RACHA do, but Bang Chan seems to do majority of the beats and also there is a "rumor" of Chan's laptop having possible other beats and songs and the works XD. Stay's would loveeee to take a peek of his laptop lollll
I'm sure it's not a rumor. Many of the songs from their last few albums were written 1-2 years before they were released, and I know they're also preparing a lot of extra songs and material for when the members start serving in the military. Everyone except Felix and Bang Chan (because they both have Australian citizenship) will be gone at some point, so they have to plan for that well in advance.
IK Friday The 13th goes w/the horror theme in the mv, but I wouldn’t put it past SKZ if they also used it as a forward-looking easter egg for the possible release of their next album this year..like dec 13th? (since 5-Star&Rock-Star were released 5 months apart last year) 🤔🤓🙂↕️
Who makes Stray Kids Beats? Stray Kids members Bang Chan, HAN, Changbin and Felix have songwriting, composition and production credits across every track on 5-STAR. 3Racha (Bang Chan, Changbin and Han) do 99% of the writing and production of their music. But Bang Chan is usually the one who comes up with the beats.
Thank you for your reaction. As far as the question no to me, this song is right up their alley. I think that chk chk boom is more different for them than JJam.

Forgot to mention that when I was a teen I was a full blown Beatles fan! lol
@@jeanettechristoffersen1916 I had a huge Beatles phase in high school thanks to the movie Across the Universe 😁

This is great! Where did you get the percentage from? I’d love to have a reference like that!
WOW 51.44% of the credits across all songs is an insane percentage. @.@
@maddbbekah it's all public data on KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association) for official credits.
They do work with a variety of producers but bang Chan is often involved with the arrangement.

I love the play on words and theme. It’s like the JAM/Fun is addictive and takes them over. Creepy but awesome lol

I love whole the album,too.
"쨈" (jam's Korean prononciation) prononce Jam very strong way!
Stray Kids mentioned that JJAM was first intended as a title track for the 5-Stars album.
I’d be interested in knowing if there was a bit of wordplay with the title. JJAM in Korean means spare time or free time and pronounced “jam”. JAM means fun in Korean and is pronounced the same way. Bangchan, changbin and jisung write and compose pretty much all their music

JJAM sounds right on brand to me
Bangchan does do most of the beats but for jjam, changbin was the main writer/producer

Changbin said he wrote this one to have different sections to showcase each of their 3 subunits.
Jjam... one syllable
Seems like they are experimenting and maybe they have more say so over the creativity with this album
Pronounced Jam with a strong J sound.
