7:53 wingers weren’t back in those days. The lock played in the line then would drop back as the ball moved away. Tommy and Billy Smith would defend in the front line in the late 60’s

While we're talking cricket, the Ashes should change to every 3 years not 4, I admit to getting old being part of the reasoning, but it all makes sense as well. 4 years means that you have a gap of 18 months and 21/2 years either side of the home and away whereas 3 years would give us an 18 month period either side. A few years ago they did something similar to change the calendar of Test Cricket and it was terrific.....

Another important style of defender not mentioned was the workhorse.. not the hardest hitter and dont have quite cam smith type awareness, but consistent reliable workhorses, Corey Parker Matt Gillette style players

15:15 half backs are the worst at refusing to let go of the no 7.All ego. Half back has always been the star. Look at Hunt refusing to play dummy half. Even if not at dummy half, he plays more like the five-eighth roll and Flanagan more like the half. Often half and five-eight will do exactly the same job on different sides of the ruck but the “half” will not relinquish the no 7.

Ohhh how times have changed. Here’s Gus saying how important wingers are in the modern game today and how much of a nightmare there positions are. Go back to the 80’s and 90’s when forwards where always saying how useless wingers where how there jerseys weren’t dirty enough that they sit out there not doing anything. Especially players like Fatty from the footy show.
