Yep, we've purposely traded down sometimes at the hotels just for the fun of it. Example, we traded a great figment with paint brush pin for a (chalkboard pin) and a Woody pin for a very common pin and a Yoda tsum tsum pin again for a very common pin. We know these are better than what we traded for, but it's all in fun to try to spice up those pin boards. Always check the check in desk-they'll likely have a pin board or pin folder. Be sure to check because you just never know what you might find. One time (yes, on purpose) I traded in a Grand Floridian shop, a glow in the dark Haunted Mansion pin for a for another common pin. We know that some kid/person would be like OOOohhh, aaahhh! I want to trade for this pin. So we do have a collection that we won't trade, but we've traded a lot of good ones for the fun of it.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my password. I love any help you can offer me.
Such a well said and informative video! I started pin collecting in 2003, and I legitimately had no idea limited edition pins were a thing until a year or so ago! My wallet’s thankful I didn’t find them sooner... And thank you for the shoutout, you’re too sweet! (and your videos are always SO fun!)
Emily, do all of the pin UA-camrs watch each others videos? I have noticed Becka seems happier with Ryan than her husband... I feel in Ryan's videos he was about to cry when Becka's husband mader her come with him to the Not so Scary Halloween party. It's just a theory, but I don't think Becka's husband isnt a pin person.
Yes! Would love to see a pin q & a video. Please explain the "etiquette" when you trade with cast members or other people. What would be offensive, etc.
Thank you so much for sharing. This is my first venture into pin trading and I feel pretty wild because I am sure it is unusual for a 68-year-old guy. I love art and I consider the pins to be just that!. This might have been a long video for you but thank you I learned so very much!!
Tisha !!! Ave a pretty good collection and just acquired the first pin for Disneyland Fantasmic, not sure what it is worth. But I have had a ton of fun pin trading.
Thank you for making these videos! I recently got into the limited edition Nurse day pins. They are released every year on Nurses day which is in May, and as a nurse, I love these! The problem is they sell out so quickly because people who are not even nurses will buy all of these and then resell them on eBay for $500-$700 sometimes. The original pin cost around $20 in the park and online. This year for 2021, they sold out within 4 hours and now there are so many circulating on 3rd party websites for literally $600. :( I wish Disney would do something to fix this problem! Like the person should have to show their nurse badge or something in order to purchase it.
Thank you for this video. I went to Disneyland for the first time in years and barely found out about pin trading and such. It’s a whole new world and I thought your video helped clear things up for me so thank you.
Your video was super helpful!! I’m a huge Disney fan but new to pin trading and how everything works. I went thru so many videos but I loved yours, it has so much good info!! Im binge watching your videos, they so awesome! lol
I have a few pins I've bought as souvenirs for special occasions. But I've opened a couple of the mystery boxes and I must say, that's addicting! I'm definitely getting more into pin trading. Thanks for the tips!
I just started collecting a few years ago when I went to Disneyland , Hollywood studios and Disney soda fountain shop. I collect Dumbo , Dopey and Figaro . the girls I was with slept in the alleyway to hope we would get a good number in order to buy a rare pin at the DSF . I vowed I would never do that again . I am not losing sleep for a pin again. but it was fun.
Based on the date on the video I know this comment is super behind, however I had to comment. I started watched your channel around January (2019), right around when we officially booked our trip we were just on in July. Anyway, I heard you talk about pins so I bought a few from someone to give to my kiddos so they would have something to trade. Then we went to the parks. O.M.G. I'm OBSESSED!!! It is so fun!! I'm in the very beginning stages, but I came home thinking, how much better would the world be if we could go around to different places and trade these. It is just a good old fashioned fun hobby that I can share with my kids. I was excited to start it with them so young, they are 5 and 7. Hopefully this is something we can do as a family, and we are now going to be a little more experienced when we are able to get back in a few years. Thank you so much for the introduction to this fun hobby!
I just started pin trading in the parks and now I'm super obsessed. I've started buying the rack pins that I can relate to a special memory that I've had in the parks. I really want to get my hands on the doorways to Disney Pins! Great video! ❤️
Another awesome Disney lesson! Could listen to you all day! went out and bought myself a little denim disney jacket, going to put my pins on it and wear it on the plane going to Orlando 💙
Oh my gosh Becka...your vest with pins is killing me! Wait...you're not an expert? I think you've got this kid...I don't seem to be worried. The next time I'm at the parks I am going to pin trade. I cannot wait ! Do not buy big lots on Ebay...BEST tip ever Becka! Love your zootopia pins you shared...and your 60th Disneyland pin...pretty sparkly! I really didn't know much about the limited edition pins. I don't have any of those, but can imagine some of them are spectacular. Thanks for sharing those links...I do follow Zip a dee doo Disney and Pin Life too..they're great! Ohhh that Doorway to Disney series is super cool! Definitely do a pin Q &A video! You explained this so well!
I bought some pins from mickey's house and they were pretty good quality. If you don't care about them being "authentic" then this is also a great option. I'll put the link if you're interested. mickeyshouse.store/collections/cell-phones-accessories/products/lot-of-25-disney-trading-pins
I love your channel and your sweet videos- your attitude truly makes my days so much brighter. Keep doing what you're doing- and keep making disney videos!!! Will be sending you a Snow White pin soon!
I'm desperate for a pin display/storage ideas. And since you are the direct cause of me buying TWENTY MYSTERY PACKS, I think you owe me one 😎 Great video as always!!! Keep up the magic!!
marneygirl629 I use an ita bag for mine! And if they fall, it falls into a pocket so you never lose them! Ita bags are really cheap on amazon and really good quality
I just posted a fun DIY Disney pin board video if you want to check it out. I've got a ton of pins too so I needed a place to store them and I just love the way my board turned out! ua-cam.com/channels/1LgZAr7P2Pi8zXQyOHairw.html
If I could only spend my time in one US park, it would be Magic Kingdom! I love the magic of Disney and have only been to that park once so I would absolutely love to spend more time there!
So informative, thank you so much for sharing, my son and I have been pin trading and collecting since 2015 and we love it 😍 I didn’t know all of the different levels of trading, we just collect what we like so mostly we have rack pins ( they are beautiful ❤️) and have traded a few with cast members ( have gotten some really cute hidden Mickey ones that way) and we were at Disney World for May 4th one year and my son got the special Star Wars ones he was so excited. Anyway love your channel and thank you again for the information 😀
I bought a number of pin packs recently and I am super excited to do some trading next summer when I go to California. I got some great pins that I am definitely keeping but I got some traders.
14:39 I have the Saratoga Springs version of that pin with Maximus! I bought it on my first ever Disney vacation, and by happy coincidence I was staying at that resort AND I love Tangled! I’ve only been back once since 2016 but I mainly collect Tangled and Pirates of the Caribbean pins, despite the latter being quite hard to find
So i really started pin collecting in 2015 on my trip to Disneyland Paris. But I really started to get more serious & active about it in 2017 and I go through more active phases. I‘m very selective when it comes to my pin collecting as I don’t wanna go overboard so I usually just buy the ones I love and I only just got into pin trading in 2019.
This is really helpful I only have rack pins as it’s hard to trade in the Uk but this is helpful for if I ever travel and get more into trading thanks for the amazing video
I love pins! But I’m a bit scared to start a Disney one, I get a bit crazy when I start collecting things. But I’ve been wanting a Mulan pin for so long! I just might got for it!
i spent a whole day at epcot looking for the german flag and could not find it at any shop and no cast members had it. the next day i was at the Hollywood studios and forgot to bring my pins with me and finally found a cast member that had the pin i was looking for. she overheard me tell my sister that i wish i brought mine so i could trade for it and she gave it to be with out trading. it honestly made my day
I’m going to Disney for the first time in September and I’m SOOOOO exited. I want to get some pins but I’m not sure if I want to get the case? What do you think???
I’m on the hunt for all the powerful pens from club penguin. I’ve been seeing them a lot in different videos of people on pin boards and I don’t think very many people want them. So if I do go this January, I will definitely buy some after the holidays to trade.
Awesome intro to pins. I have been so scared to start, I know it's a slippery slope, but I did just get gifted a pin from Tokyo Disney and I feel like that one little pin will be so lonely if I don't purchase more :)
bought an annual pass recently and have been curious about pin collecting. This is a great video. WOuld be nice though to know if there is some end game to certain sets, vs and infinite amount of pins. Sounds like there are sets out there which makes me interested.
this was so helpful thank you. I have only 2 pins. one that i got in 2017 of pocahontas because she's my fav and i couldn't find anything of her anywhere so i got a pin, then just last week i got this really cool limited edition pin from Disney Movie Rewards and it's a london pin with a Dalmatian and i'm obsessed. now i want to start collecting more. and this answered so many questions.
Absolutely LOVED this! So much fun. Thank you for sharing! I am just dipping my toe in the water. I will check out the pin channel mentioned, I do know the all things Disney pins & agree, so helpful! xx
I had a lanyard when I went to Disney in Florida and left it on one of the travel carts and it got stolen I fondly remember it because one of the pins I talked with one of the park cashiers and he let me take one of his hidden Micky pins. That guy was a legend and I’m sad that my lanyard got stolen :(
I started pin trading just a few months ago, and this video was beyond helpful! Unfortunately, I don’t live anywhere near a Disney park, nor do I plan on going to one anytime soon, but Disney pin trading is a HUGE deal at a summer camp that I go to. Just ordered a few Disney Star Wars booster pack, so I’m hoping that I can get a good head start before camp next year! Anyways, thanks for the great pin trading advice!!!! Keep up the awesome work!!! 😄👍🏼
Im living in Canada rn, but one day i wanna move down to Florida with my bf and work at disney world, and when i do i wanna start collecting Roger Rabbit and TLK pins :D i really hope i can make that dream a reality one day!
One side note on trading with other people at the parks: Disney has a rule that guests are not allowed to trade pins for money. They can only trade pin for pin. It doesn't matter which Disney park you're at.
Currently I am planning a trip to Disney World for over 2 years in the future, talking about October 2023 because everyone agreed that close to Halloween would be fun, it both mine & my friend's favorite holiday so of course we want to go near it. Only time I ever went to a Disney park was in 2002, went to Disneyland as a week long vacation with my mom, sister, & some family friends. I didn't know about pins or pin trading, I was 11 years old at the time & the family friend made the arrangements for the whole party, my mom was the one that wanted to get us setup for pins by buying a lanyard & let us pick out some pins to start with. I honestly forgot my starting pins, I just remember being upset that I wanted a Daisy Duck pin & they only had one option & I didn't like the option but I know I got her anyways. I found out about pin trading due to that pin, a cast member saw the Daisy pin on my lanyard & complimented it. I told her "thank you but I wish I had a different one." She then offered to trade me the one she had for the one I was wearing which was a pin I didn't see in the shop so of course I took the offer. That was like the only trade I made through my whole trip. I'll be 32 by the time we're planning for so I'm definitely more than old enough to be aware & actually research this stuff. What has me looking more into it is that there's pins I want for my collection but other than my 2002 pins & a few I bought online about 10+ years ago because I found a few Darkwing Duck pins I love for a good price so I bought them, I don't have much to trade. I'm not letting go of my Darkwing Duck pins, I think one of them even was still attached to its backing when I bought it so I am positive at least one of them is authentic but even so, I absolutely love the terror that flaps in the night & nothing will get me to trade those pins. I am considering looking at my 2002 pin collection, I completely forgot what pins I have for the most part. They're in storage so whenever I get a hold of them, I can look through them. I don't know if I have anything rare at all & heck, I don't think I'd find someone at Disney World with the pins I'm looking for since what I want are some pins that were sold during Toonfest in Disneyland. Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the once was Disney MMO Toontown & I want to have some of those pins in my collection but the only ebay listings there are sell them for $50 which like I can splurge on one maybe but if I could trade for one, that'd be better. I want to show some love for the game even though it's closed down during my trip & it's be so cool to add on one of those Toontown pins to my lanyard. Dunno what I have in my 2002 pin collection, could be nothing of value but I know of one expensive pin I did get in the park, still might not be worth much. This was when Lilo & Stitch was still a new movie so I really wanted a Lilo & Stitch pin but we didn't see any in many of the shops we visited but after a bathroom break, I spotted one in a shop that was a little bit 3D like it had parts sticking off & so on. It was more than $10, I can't fully remember the price or even what it looked like because I haven't looked at it in so long, I just remember it being big & amazing & I had to have it so I begged my mom until she caved. It's probably not worth much, maybe even less than whatever my mom paid for it but it's one of the few I can recall from memory. I did like that pin a lot, don't know if I'd be willing to trade it for a Toontown pin if I had the chance but I do hope there's something of value within my collection. I really want to wear a Toontown pin on my trip that I'm not paying $50 for & not even know if it's genuine or not.
Great video, I love collecting annual pass pin, which I think is same as limited release right? Also narrowing down what you collect helps with this habit and going down the rabbit hole lol
This was so helpful and informative. I noticed that your pins are still on the cards that they are sold on. Whenever I buy a pin, I either put in on a lanyard or in my Disney Pin trading binder. I throw out the cards! Should I have been saving them? Thanks for all this info!
Thank you for the information because I want to start collecting payments and last time I was in Disney land was in 1995 and I don’t remember doing pins then
So for someone just starting out, is it a good idea to buy some LE pins that you don't really want just to trade? I feel stuck at the moment with just buying pins I don't want to trade, when I'd like to get into actual trading!
My dad has a mint condition, unopened Donald Duck set. 1 out of only 1600. Also, we just went to a pawn shop and spent a lot of money on some rare pins lol
Definitely show us your pin collection! I'd be interested to see! I usually have about 10-15 pins I take around the park to trade but ones I never get too attached too because I know there are fakes out there. I don't really mind the fakes if its something that I really like. Although I try not to re-trade fakes so that they don't end up back in the system. Everytime I go to disney I will buy a new rack pin with the year I went. I also pick up any new ones of the pins I collect. I haven't gotten super into the whole mystery pins just because I NEVER get the pins I want and it can get pretty pricey. I'm always cautious of buying pins from ebay or online too because of all the fakes. I collect mostly Disney Dogs (Lady and the tramp, Dug, Stitch, 101 Dal, Pluto). My boyfriend collects mostly Lion King pins!
Thanks for this very informative video! Just curious, where would you recommend someone purchasing pins if they are not able to go to the parks due to location and cost? I don’t know if I’d want to trade perse but I may want to collect..... thanks!
Loved your video! My husband and I are getting excited about growing our pin collection (mainly for commemorating our trips to Disney!) ANYWAY, where did you get your ears because they are ADORABLE!?
I trade pins trading strategy i learnt from *Lukasz Wilhelm* ...search name on net or view website on (Iqdtrades .com) , find out about *IQD momentum strategy* .
I've just started using my Disney World annual pass. Have only picked up a couple pins, all Passholder exclusives. These are not for trade, yet. I also have some duplicates from my Disney Movie Club. Those are the pins I will start trading with. I regret not buying one the other day that was 4th in a series. I didn't buy it because I hate only having partial sets. BUT, it could be very tradeworthy if I encounter someone who needs it to complete THEIR set. I may pick one up when I go next month. For me, it will be all about the in park experience. I have no current plans to trade online. I do have a store in Kissimee that carries official Disney pins at a discount. I will be picking some up their next time I am in the area.
@@JMC01644 It is actually a thrift store that receives all sorts of official Disney stuff. They have documentation from Disney on display that they are selling items donated from the Disney company. I recently bought some furniture from Disney's most recent updates to the Disney Pop Century resort. Because they actually allow pin trading with customers I suppose some fake pins could be in the mix. But I would definitely feel confident buying there.
Thanks for the great video! My family would like to start looking into trading with the pin traders at the parks however we did notice that LE pins are what they seek. Where are they purchased? How do we find out about them? You had one from Hong Kong, other than knowing someone, is there a way to get some from other Disney parks? Huge toy story fan over here and must find LE toy story pins. :))) thanks for any extra tips and tricks.
Watching others go pin trading on you tube I have spotted a pin I like it is all blue with a silhouette of Mickey on it I was wondering if you know what it is called
I've nevee been to a Disney park and don't think I will be any time soon. Are there ways to trade outside of the parks, and can you buy lots offf of amazon without too many fakes?
Thank you soo soooo much for this! I always love learning more about pins and you would be an amazing teacher! :D You've been to Paris right? Do you know if the pintrading in the park is a big thing there too? My friend says they won't do mystery packs.. :( So I dont know if the CMers even have vineyards on... :o
I’m so happy I found this video because I love pins and I really want to have more to put around like I’m my mini backpacks and jackets and I found this video at a very good time because im going to Disney for my first time ever in 2 weeks and this seems like a great fun thing to do while I walk around the park :) i just have a question, if you buy pins like at your local store that say Disney on the back do those count as trading pins? I’m just curious:)
I can't pin trade in the parks regularly or buy in person because I am from Australia. I also can't spend top dollar for authentic pins. Shipping prices are ridiculously high. I do have some pins from my past visits. I have joined Mickey monthly pin subscription..hope I get some great ones. So all I have for now is EBay. I am buying counterfeit to keep for now.

This is really helpful I only have rack pins as it’s hard to trade in the Uk but this is helpful for if I ever travel and get more into trading thanks for the amazing video
The Marie pin comes in a mystery pack. It is red with Mickey Mouse on it and it comes with 5 pins
Is that a Dole Whip pin on your jacket?! I've been searching high and low for that pin!! Thanks for all the tips!
I will check out the pin channel mentioned, I do know the all things Disney pins & agree, so helpful! xx
So happy you made this video, since I just started collecting! Very helpful!! Love your Zootopia pins!!
I want to start collecting Disney pins but I live in the uk and don’t plan on coming to any Disney parks any time soon have you got any tips for me?
I'm using EIT Method crypto software
Im living in Canada rn, but one day i wanna move down to Florida with my bf and work at disney world, and when i do i wanna start collecting Roger Rabbit and TLK pins :D i really hope i can make that dream a reality one day!
Strawberry Same, it’s always been my dream job! But my severe chronic illness kinda put me at a stop. 😔
I'm in Disney right now and I'm to busy watching your videos!
6:30 i have that pin! i traded for it at epcot a week ago and i really like it :)
So informative. Thank you so much.
Do you have to keep the cardboard back the pin comes on? Does that change the value of it if you don’t have it and you put the pin on your lanyard?
One side note on trading with other people at the parks: Disney has a rule that guests are not allowed to trade pins for money. They can only trade pin for pin. It doesn't matter which Disney park you're at.
It’s not pin for pin as you would not trade an LE for a Hidden Mickey but yes selling pins at the Parks is a huge no no!
I am a new new Subscriber. And i love your ears
So then should you keep the "rack" pins and limited edition pins on the cardboard back they came on?
So I’m new to the pin trading and are the booster set tradable ?
Thanks for the great Info! Can’t wait to get started!
Thank you for the information because I want to start collecting payments and last time I was in Disney land was in 1995 and I don’t remember doing pins then
Here from 2021, but I also want to add that some limited edition pins I believe are limited time, as in they sell they for s short period of time
i just got into the pins! i want all the pirate pins and all the star wars pins! and maybe the steampunk ones too but they're hard to find :)
Thank you thank you for tips! Do you think even the hidden Mickey pins are fake on eBay?
jenniebabi2 yes those are definitely fake
My Canine Life I only have one pin and one lanyard, but I also want to start collecting Disney dog pins and mickie and Minnie pins
Thank you this was so useful!
How do you find out how many were made? Is it on the label? The LE zootopia says 8 of 8?
how much are pins usually? I have a couple pins and want to buy more :D
Thanks for this very informative video! Just curious, where would you recommend someone purchasing pins if they are not able to go to the parks due to location and cost? I don’t know if I’d want to trade perse but I may want to collect..... thanks!
Alisa's Loves they have pins at disney stores, maybe check if there is one near you if you live in the US
Great information here and I appreciate that you provided additional resources. Thanks!
You are so sweet Becka ILYSM!! Thank you so much for this video :) You are the best
Loved your video! My husband and I are getting excited about growing our pin collection (mainly for commemorating our trips to Disney!) ANYWAY, where did you get your ears because they are ADORABLE!?
Are longefly pins considered to be fake pins? I am new to the pin trading game. Thanks for your help
sarah78 neidrich no, they are Disney licensed pins, and park tradable because they say copyright Disney on the back. They are not fake :)
Thank you so much. I did not want to spend a lot to not be able to trade them. Thanks again
I trade pins trading strategy i learnt from *Lukasz Wilhelm* ...search name on net or view website on (Iqdtrades .com) , find out about *IQD momentum strategy* .
Great Video !!! Thank you for sharing your tips !!! Big Hugs =)
Is a pin more valuable if it is kept on its cardboard, or that doesn't matter?
Can you trade the loungefly Disney pins?
How do you keep your pins secure on your vest? Thanks for the video, really helpful!
Those are most likely scrapper pins.
Hey! I have that Marie Mickey pin!
Missing your videos, still watching it in 2022
Thanks for the great video!
Are copyright Marvel metal pins tradable with Marvel being owned by Disney?
Watching others go pin trading on you tube I have spotted a pin I like it is all blue with a silhouette of Mickey on it I was wondering if you know what it is called
Well, I just bought my first starter pack of pins. I am looking forward to trading in the parts, AKA "Tier One".
Love your videos
We always, and only, buy pins because we like them.
