- Funcom addresses some of the most burning questions from the community in a recent video, I wanted to respond to the answers to these questions and answers. I feel like Funcom could be on the right track with the planned changes to Conan Exiles. We will have to see what the future.

Nice, three or four battle pass items on the market for 20 USD + Zero burden on Developement = Max profits with minimum effort!
you expect its going to be 20 USD, its going to be way more, because they will say BUT BUT we changed the color, so all the people who got the items in battlepass still have an exclusive item.
yeah, BP didn't make any money (you get your coins back), it was purely to increase engagement and retain the engagement for as long as possible. it makes the player numbers look good for investors.

For the battle pass stuff, I like what they did with the Arcane building pieces. They brought them back, with a slight (color) modification. This allows everyone to have the chance to play with the content but maintain the exclusivity for the players who were there and may have grinded on an official server for the BP stuff that they have.
Andy's Body language does not seem very happy. it does tells something, for me he looked affected.
i stil believe this game is in maintainance mode. hard to trust people who has lied in the past...
Funcom is a relatively old company, with plenty of history. "Maintenance mode" is their standard operating protocol.
As always, your video is spot on. Like you I enjoy playing Conan and have done so since it first came out. With all the issues they have been having in the last couple of years, it has soured me on the game a bit. I cringe when they say patches are coming out because that usually means a new set of problems and it takes weeks for them to fix those issues. Since seeing your video, i'm going to hang in there and see what happens in August, before I make my mind up.

I payed for every original DLC and I only ever used the race armors and weapons to show where I captured my trawls from. I didn't spend a dime on Conan since the change. I can afford $19.99 for a full DLC every 6 months since the original DLC was definitely worth $9.99 each. Go back to full DLC packs and release every age to this point as full DLC packs all at once.
Soulmask pushed 4 updates since june 18th, the same amount of time it took Funcom to make a video about how thei're going to milk every $ of the old battlepass items through the bazaar.

6:58 I think they mean experiencing the different Ages again. Meaning, if you create a new character, the state of the Exiles lands will be as it was on release, with all the improvements the game had so far. And as you play that character, the map keep changing throughout the playthrough.
i still dont know what to think. feels like first steps towards an apology but on the other hand can very well be an atempt to "save" dune
Conan Exiles NEEDS more new content! new areas, new lands to explore! and im saying this as a player since early acces day 1 when we only had 30 levels and the desert to play in. The game NEEDS to expand!!!
I've encountered "Grave Matters" Twice when farming sorcerer's skulls, in both cases I did NOT get a Magi's skull.
Well, since you asked. I’ve written off Funcom. Played the heck out of both AoC and CE. But TBH once the BP and store arrived in CE I sensed the end. They needed the whale cash infusion, but it’s an old game with limitations. So, IMHO their track record does not bode well for Dune.
I absolutely love Conan Exiles and took my vacation around the time one of the ages dropped. Didn't get to play it the whole time. They disrespect their player base so much, and I really don't think they would be caring this much if so many of us hadn't quit playing. I don't know if I can trust them again with what little free time I get. Love your videos wak!
This is my favorite video game, but I'm discontented with the state of things. We still fall through our base blocks, and with each step forward it feels like we take two backwards. With all the extra funds from the bazaar we should be seeing great improvements, but instead we are seeing slower releases.
My relationship with funcom has been strained for a long time. Conan is by far my favorite game with 2500 + hours but every time they update the game and break content, which also delays mods (my primary play style) from getting the updates they need to work properly, its just heartbreaking. I end up waiting a month or longer just to be able to play again after an update. If they made it so the vanilla game wasn't broken when it was released, which would let modders fix their content faster, I wouldn't be so sour towards funcom. However, I've been burned so much with that that I think it's an "I'll have to see it before I believe it" situation.
I've been playing Conan since it was first available on console. I've ridden the highs and lows and I'm not always pleased with what Funcom has done. One of our clan has walked away for now, but that has more to do with feeling like he has done everything that can be done. The concept of Siptah was good, but for our small clan, it's a fail. It did bring us new dungeons and new materials to work with, but we found it unsatisfying. I was running the dungeon with the big spider by myself a couple of times a day and that storm stuff is very confusing. Maybe another map (Siptah style).

Yes, the Bazaar prices need to radically drop. I still haven't spent any money on the Bazaar. It's been easy to resist because the prices are just too high. I'm also bothered by the many mofo tactics used. Shame on FunCom for this.
I recently started playing on PC and it really hurts that my Playstation Battle Pass items don't come with me. Everywhere I look the value is weak.
But I'll keep playing with what I've got. I still enjoy the game.
I'm a little salty about them axing the battle pass, just cause I felt it was decent value. if they don't lower bazaar prices and instead give us good event rewards in the future (current witch hunt isn't that), that's a possibility, but not one I'd be happy with. I really like a lot of what's for sale, the designers are doing great, but not for the current prices.
I'll take a catalogue where I can just buy all the previous armor and building packs I missed. Tbh, the prices never really bothered me, but the fact I could never get the building pack I wanted when I wanted it cause the chapter was over or whatever, pisses me off to this very day.
I'm actually quite happy with Funcom. The game has been running for a long time and still has something new to offer. Not every publisher does this...

I am legally blind and Conan is about the last game I can play as I have my own server so playing in 20 to 30 min stints with an hour or so to recover from the strain makes playing doable. I was hoping that BG# would work but too cluttered in the graphics and I tire way too fast. I am looking into SoulMask as again I can build my own server so I can hopefully continue playing open world savior games. I really like Conan and would like to continue but I don't think I will as the game is way broken and their are key things stated in the update video released. Most notably the bit about pulling people from Conan to move them to Dune. He specifically did not say that they did not do it. He pushed that they are different DEV teams, as well as, pushing that they just higher new Dev's all while using body language that indicated that it was not what was wanting to be said. The prices are insane and with the removal of the battle pass there is no reason for them to not hike the prices up. With the fact that they were selling items for cash purchase then nerfing them then refusing refunds is something I think we will be finding more often. I have watched and played Conan from the start both on PC and PlayStation and really unless they make some dramatic changes and decide to be a good and honest company that makes good products Ill find something else I hope.

I totally agree with the "patches that cause heartache" issue's with Funcom.
They still haven't fixed the new inventory system. And a lot of people just gave up playing because it is too cumbersome to use.
bro the thrall downed mechanic is soo good for purging :D, i feel like what they really should do is make the battle pass rewards "shinys" like from pokemon and then when they release stuff again they change the colors of the items so you can still feel like you were there and paid for something you actually got or something

To the question: does the development of Dune: Awakening affect Conan Exiles, the developer responds that these are two separate development teams. Personally, I would have liked to know if they use the same tools and software for development. I am still surprised if there is no transfer of "know-how" and technologies.
I wasn't a battle pass guy. I have bought every DLC and will continue to do so. I just could not afford to keep up on content. I will be happy if they put battle pass stuff in DLC so i can buy it when i can afford to do so.
one thing ive always thought about in conan is that dungeon bosses should be harder than bosses in the overworld and the difficulty should scale on your character level if not on character level then on how endgame the dudgeon is. Im sure im not the only one who wants harder content in conan. Not to say that i want them to crank it to 11 but make it a challenge.
I completed every stage of every battle pass.
I'm good with making them available to everyone.
Keep in mind, we are already 3 months into the extra tacked on clean up Chapter. We just received an update showing how well they used that extra time.
Sadly, I just don't trust them anymore.
The devstream made it clear that the new inventory system was deliberately their decision. That's not a polish issue, that's a vision issue. And the vision, since Age of War started, simply hasn't felt that good to me very often.
As far as the event...
Grave Matters is spawning. Which is not the Witch Hunt event.
It was the event cycle before, which has been a source of false positives.
I haven't played CE in ages. Glad to see it still gets updates.
As a Bethesda player coming to funcom. I'm so used to the bugs I barely get cranky about it. Unless it's extreme.
I loved Conan Exiles but I lost interest when I took a break from playing only to find things had changed and I had to watch videos to find out what happened. The inability to catch up on content killed it for me. Dune looked interesting but being it was Funcom I decided to give that a wide berth
I think a battlepass that gives you battlepass xp based on just playing the game similar to Diablo 4 seems more right to me. I dont have to complete specific things, but completing those specific things gives extra xp. So simply playing the game is beneficial. I dont like being forced to travel the map and build 15 golems for a battlepass
Why do I get the feeling this game is truly dying. IMO, The lack luster "content" and unfixed bugs are showing us the devs do not care about the game anymore. The Ages and chapters does not seem to be coherent, it's like they just release a feature and move on without any thought if it fits. They do not seem to have a strong vision with what they want. The content is so random and does not tie in with the ages. The bugs never get fixed fixed and they seem to ignore or deny it's existence. I really love the game and have spent 2,500hours on it and I really want it to be better. I want to recommend it to my friends but because of it's current state, I am hesitant. I really hope if they let this game die they let it die with dignity or sell it to a developer that have vision and cares. This could have been the ultimate survival game.
with endless nerfs and lack of anything to work towards ,there is hardly point to play . compound that with influx of other survival games, major bugs in every major update and what do you get ?
im havin a problem in someone server to where wen u put stuff in a chest it gtiches back in your invatory and you have to empty out your whole invatory in to a chest just to take susmin out of it tht u wANT TO DISMANTLe idk whats up with tht
I’ve been having this bug, it also affects armor that you equip
It seems like it’s tied to the sorting system
If you put it on no sorting this will fix the problem
At this point, I have given up on them. I will keep an eye on things, but it will take quite a bit to bring be back

@@amadhollow635why would you pay for the bp in a survival game? I never spend in the game if its always having bugs. The only thing I bought was the Nemedian DLC
I play on PS5 and while I love the game, it is hilariously and frustratingly broken on that platform (at least in co-op mode). Most NPC's disappear almost immediately after you kill them, especially if they go out of view, and dragging them with a rope is a joke. Just let me say, don't do anything other than drag them straight to a thrall-breaker unless you want to risk losing them forever. The AI is terrible, as well, which ends up getting even highly leveled thralls killed when they don't follow orders to flee. It all adds up to me once again deciding the frustration outweighs the fun.
Might hop in again and give it a go. Been on Elden Ring alot since dlc before it was FO76 lol im excited

As someone who bought every battle pass, I find exclusivity is just down right silly. It is more of an F U to new players than any offence to people who bought it. I purely bought the passes because of FOMO. So any move that reduces that is good in my book. Here's hoping the next age brings some fun stuff to the game. I'm still looking forward to the thrall snap system update on all the existing benches.
I think the events spawn more in certain areas then others. I got events twice at the Summoning Place and I got another one at Buccaneer Bay but I spend like 3 days trying to get the one at Sepermeru with no luck. I haven't tried the other locations yet but I've been meaning to test it
That event is Grave Matters, it was the event before Witch Hunts, that's why the bosses there don't drop Magi Skulls.
In all honesty, I’ve been playing the game since day one I am very much only PVP, but I would love to see some of the modded maps that they have for PC work their way onto console tuned and polished, of course
If you are in console best thing is to move to pc. Not only for the mods that you want, but what kills conan exiles in console is that the console is too weak to handle it. Sudden frame drops, high latency, and I believe you cant change graphics, so that would be a nice thing. I played in ps4 like 4 years ago and I was dying due to lag than attacks. I also seen that on ps5 its the same thing.
I haven't played sense the intro of battlepass, not sure if I will come back or not, is't not like the game has added much to keep it fresh. And if they plan to continue to nickel and dime us to death, No, I won't be back.
At this point, I have only one word for Funcom devs: "Soulmask".
No I haven't written them off they tried something was not that successful people learn from the mistakes they have made unless they are a narcissist. And this video was them addressing everything is the way I see it 6 month window for a new age they get twice as long to polish it off
I do not trust the abilities of the development team. Their updates break more than they fix. They also make unneeded changes to the gameplay and those changes are never an improvement.
Bring down the BP Please.. The housing in this game is great and it keeps me playing, but I'm NOT going to pay that kind of money for a few building pieces. I understand that FC is a business and they need to make a profit, but I can't afford their cost of living. O.o Thanks for the great vid, one Q. plz.. Havent seen any type of event in weeks now and i am out specifically hunting them...going to every possible location in a loop. Supposedly thete should always be an event up somewhere on the map at any given time. Also the map markers that are supposed to exist for events happening dont work
I wrote Funcom off when they extended decay timers for their vacation, two months after refusing to extend timers when their launcher blocked Windows7 users from playing the game. I still love the game, but I stopped buying each and every DLC at that point.
The only thing that might bring me back is a new map, and not only A map, but it should be interesting and unique map.
Its not gonna work. Just like siptah it divided players and at the end Exiled Lands was much better overall
Funcom is truly awful, i spent 390$ between a pc and 2 ps4 consoles and now can only play it on the pc as it constantly drops or my items on me and my stored items as well just poof gone. They know for sure that it just does not work on console yet still sell it to unsuspecting customers who have zero recourse since they just ignore you at funcom. I will never waste money on this company ever again.

Trust issues with Funcom - that's a big topic for me. I'd like to trust them, but them letting me down so many times, not to mention acts of their "hounds" on forum, have done incredible damage to their reputation and trustworthiness in my eyes.
Off to soul mask and not giving funcon any of my dollars. I assume Dune is going to be a shit show. Soul mask has 3 devs and they are running circles around them as for updates over how big funcoms team is. Money should go where the support is and funcom doesn’t have a good trend and the culture of that company is lacking the spirit to do a game like Dune justice. Conan just proves that
I like their game. It’s good, fun to play. Could use some work, continuing to refine and adding stuff. I would try dune but I’m not a multiplayer heavy person. The idea is extremely stressful to even consider. Instead of the battle pass I would have just done the dlc route. I buy dlc but I’m soured on buying fake money to spend on things. Things that are in truth could be replicated or even replaced by mods.

As I finally jumped into playing conan Exiles, thanks to Neebs Gaming and then you later on, I am curious... Your most recent showing of the best build shows no strength ability, yet you are using a sword, which from all I can tell is strength based. Does that still mean that the build is the fastest slaying build, even if you could make your sword stronger by adding strength? Or am I missing something important?
Depends on the sword. Most of the time heavy, two handed, type swords are "strength" based. But then there are short swords and katanas that are "agility" based. So you have to keep in mind what type of sword you are actually swinging around and build your attributes/perks/etc accordingly.
A good addition to the game a little while ago now, that doesn't get enough recognition imo is that you can get a lot more weapon choices across Strength and Agility now. There are agility based 2h weapons and Strength based bows. enough variance now for you to play with a weapon of your choice irrespective of the build you choose.

i found conan from neebs and i swear they made it look way bettert than it was,
first time i saw a boss, i was like where the hells the intro cutscene

This game was a sandbox, now it’s a litter box. They stopped adding playable content, so you either got to build bases, or build up thralls. Now that thralls have been nerfed to irrelevance, it’s just a base building game. With servers that barely run thanks to build density.
To me it seems Andy is the reason for any and all crap that has happened.

I play solo with mods and i really only played when there was an update, id complete the battlepass and then uninstall until the next one. Honestly ever since the first age, its been pretty bad. Sorcery was a giant miss because its absolutely useless.
CE is a nice game. It would just need fixes for undermesh, flying bases and hacking crap.
I have run into a couple of the event sorcerers but I do not know how to break the barrier to take them out totems come out of the ground and spawn enemies around them.

The Ai is just brain dead stupid. They are all fixed zombies, like playing a zombie game with fixed spawn point zombies. It's been like this from the beginning till now never ever improved along with bodies sinking into the ground.
Fixing just these 2 would drastically make a big difference.
Did they ever fix the melee combat, or are certain weapons/attacks just useless still?(as in weapon goes through enemy with no effect)
I mean you are going to have a tough time if you trying to kill a high level player and pvp armor with a iron sword.
im tired of events, im tired of building block cosmetics, of horse and pet cosmetics. Those things are only fun because theyre usually a reward. We NEED more content. Proper content. an expansion to the land. Siptah was a mistake because they split up the content. We need something new to the exiled lands. Either an underground hardcore area to explore, or SOMETHING.
I just want another fun, dynamic, versatile map. Siptah was extremely dull looking, imo.
My comment means nothing right. But man Rockstar can learn a thing or two from funcom. 😢 I'm still sad Red Dead redemption 2 still hasn't gotten anything major in like 5 years now...

I will play Dune but not buying a bunch of cosmetics/ packs when then may just turn off worms for a year like they did with gods. Played CE since Beta and I have moved on. Ages have been lack luster with it going from Sorcery to a naked fight with a bear. All of it is priced as a F2P and there is a stack of features we were already supposed to have, and they have been shelved.
Theu really dont give two craps about conan or theyd fix the bugs meshing into bases and falling through
This is a game of "I'll believe it when I see it" - between Funcom's usual patch schedule vs say.... the people making Soulmask or hell No Man's Sky for that matter.
The sheer number of times that "Fixed" problems get reintroduced to Conan following an update, the constant fiddling with thralls, the endless parade of overpriced FoMo garbage on the lotus bazaar, the events / "seasonal events" that are a giant pain in the ass to admin-trigger IF POSSIBLE AT ALL, the forever fight with clipping flicker (never look at a stormglass floor tile from underneath it.... ugghh,) removal of skills, addition of "the same but different" skills through the flipping bazaar, bugs still floating around from the beta, the list goes on.
Much as I adore Conan, I'd not be bitching as much if I didn't, I have to wonder what Conan would have turned out like if it were given to a more internally coherent studio.
Is Conan Exiles cross-platform yet?
No offense to any who liked the battle pass but I glad their removing it I drop off back when they added it but I happy to get back to playing it it was one of my favorite games and now it can go back to being my favorite game again lol .... Hopefully they go back to making the dlc like they use to .. it got me back so I hope it can get others back I just downloaded it again yesterday so I look forward to have fun on it again...

problem with any animal skins is that they nerfed them into the ground making them only usable as decorations .
I use to play Conan all the time. 3k hours or more but I just couldn’t take it anymore and stopped playing when ASA(Ark Ascended) came out because I never played Ark before. I tried to play Conan like a week ago and I just couldn’t. It was just awful. Felt like they gave up on the game, lag everywhere I went, felt outdated, no new content, recycled events, recycled thralls, no pet armors, no thrall breeding mechanic, no new map and the one thing that ALL PlayStation users want is a PS5 upgrade. The game looks awful and feels awful playing a ps4 game on a PS5. I love Conan but I won’t come back till I see them listening to players and doing what’s right.
I have completely lost faith in Funcom and wouldn't touch Dune, even if they made it free to play. It's a shame because i think Dune could be a fantastic game, but I'm not going to invest time or money in a company that has made as many mistakes as Funcom has with Conan Exiles

Funcom is dead to me, and I will not be looking at Dune as a result because of the mishandling of this game. There is NO evidence that funcom can handle a pvp centered game.

Funcom's incompetence in Conan Exiles has killed any interest I had in Dune.
I've been playing Conan Exiles since day #2 of "early access." It only took less than 6 months to find it a boring grind in PvP; PvE became quickly boring, also. Then, I discovered modded servers and that was a true "game changer!" Mods are the life blood of Conan Exiles, in my opinion. The only downside is the vast choices of modded servers that dilute the number of players. "Role Play" servers that are modded are the cream of the crop. The only downside I find is the prominence of players seeking "ERP" (Erotic Role Play). Funcom/Tencent NEEDS to better support of modders, releasing developer kits further in advance AFTER a more thorough testing before updates. wak is correct, updates need to be better tested, focus on correcting "bugs" before new content and changes. Still, I love Conan Exiles as it is more immersive and semi-realistic than most games that are (or could be) massive multiplayer.
How are they making money off Conan. I bet Dune is a monthly subscription.
