    I love Robbie is hitting Aaron with real world reality facts and Aarons like " hmmm I gotta think about that" like yea dude do you realize how many ppl absolutely LOVE drifting but it's gotten to the point now that no matter what, if you're not rich or have parents with money or getting things flowed to you. It's really not feasible to start drifting with a dedicated drift car and doing it regularly. Please interview average Joe who love drifting but doesn't compete and doesn't go to drift events. Find someone who does donuts in a parking lot or a small section of road at the dead of night and see their point of view. Everyone you have interview has the means and has been in drifting for some time

    Asked Robbie for a pic during top16 ceremony last year at irwindale and he was so chill about it. Personally one of my favorite Fd moments. Also FDJ English live stream is fire with him and Keny. ✌️✌️✌️

    There's so much healthy conversation to be had about Robby's comment @8:23.
    *I think drifting is kind of easy too.*
    I've spent *FAR* more effort learning out how to afford drifting, how to set up my car properly, how to keep it working and how to build good healthy relationships with others who are passionate about drifting with the intent to share knowledge and experiences. Howerever, the main thing that I've had to learn is ultimately how to still fit in with normal society so I can drive my car on the streets to work and live without being hassled by the police everyday.
    Everyone has there own thoughts and experiences, but I think in order to keep drifting sustainable for years to come... As a community we are going to need to start having more of these real conversations to ensure younger generations are able to find there place in the sport in a way that doesn't destroy their lives. You do a really great job at this Aaron!

      the sad thing is the youtubers(influencer).. keep making clout video on how they buy overpriced car (compared to local market willing to pay) and make it seems cool to wreck their car and trying soo hard to doors and banging whos in front of them and proud to have a missile in ebisu..
      and this youtuber audience, hundreds of thousand viewers, the younger generations,, want to do exactly like what theirs idols do...
      outside ebisu at event likes doridore, er34 meeting in fuji, even at gunsai drifting event,, all the locals japanese drifters come out to drift their very clean and stylish car, rare aero, rare wheel, out drifting without wrecking their cars and keep it clean all while having fun..

    • @jonathonharris2429
      @jonathonharris2429 Рік тому

      @@goodboy_aqee58 You point of view is extremely valid but I personally don't think I could throw stones at influencers. If I had the opportunity to own a missile car and bang doors at Ebisu, I'd take it and probably have a great time in doing so. I don't see these attitudes destroying drifting, I just see it drastically limiting it's growth, as the opportunities to get into drifting are becoming more scarce for the younger generation. You could even say this is happening in many aspects of the world right now.
      I'd like to iterate that I think there will always be a negative culture to drifting just like there are negative aspects of culture in all activities. I would just like to suggest a focus of realism would really help nurture the positive aspects of culture in drifting. Realism in our culture may also help establish a level of accountability for influencers to align to.
      As per my original post, I'd really like new people to the sport to easily know what it takes to go out and get into drifting with the means they currently have.

      As someone who's late into the drifting game (I'm 22 y/o) do you think that the best route to getting into FD for me would be to get rich and try to get into FD that way? Because it seems like I won't be able to take the pure skill route because like Robby said there are 13yr olds winning events and playing sim 247 that will obliterate everybody.

    • @jonathonharris2429
      @jonathonharris2429 Рік тому +1

      @@ChrisSimpiamson3 I think that is an entirely different conversation man. I've been talking about someone getting in a car and taking it to a drift day at their local track. Not competing at the highest level of drifting.
      If you're trying to do that.. then I would absolutely agree with you, it would require an unthinkable amount of money or the prospect of being sponsored by something with the promise of making an unthinkable amount of money

    • @ChrisSimpiamson3
      @ChrisSimpiamson3 Рік тому

      @@jonathonharris2429 Do you know anybody in FD that took the route of getting rich and joined? If so then how were the able to get good so fast?
