The Boss man is so humble, so honest and hard working ! A guy who wakes up and works his butt off passes his knowledge to his children gives them a chance to continue on like him and to live love and enjoy freedom! People like this make America great ! What a legacy...
Thank you for the kind comment. Boss Man.
teri yes you are humble and a good teacher and conscientious with the ford
quality is job one. you talk the talk and you walk the walk. some places would say that it was close enough for government work. you discard the tie.because it does not meet specification of your order.
my question is there a market for 2nds on hemlock rail road ties?
i am guessing that.your railroad ties will be possibly dried an tarred and feather (old creostoted in toxic black material.) or possibly pressure treaded with toxic or non toxic salt brine.
observation big box stores sell only yellow pine land scape ties and many times as the moisture evaporates turn into cork screws.
i have seen used railroad ties of the tar and feathered version sold for landscape timbers.
firewood up my way is primarily hardwood. and hemlock is a hardwood of the softwood species. and of course firewood is sold by the cord and not by the anticipated btu. lots of miscellaneous option and time is money and it might be quicker to let it go as firewood or turn into charcoal
in your business model charcoal is given away so it costs time an money but generates goodwill that is priceless. but no
official monetary value.
firewood has some value but does it cost more in time and other resources than the revenue you get when you sell. lots of cost accounting from our days in school. a newer accounting has measures of allied transportation costs of manufacturing in multiple locations. this is in current schooling. and somethings it is cheaper to.just let it it go.instesd of maximizing revenue.
thanks for your time and sharing your knowledge.
a boss man in training
They are on camera
Was probably about 2 months ago, when I saw the Boss do a video about the "SYSTEM" I'm the logging yard....and the whole situation with the road and the turn-around...mm
I was SO IMPRESSED that the owner had such good systematic plans in place....
Jean shorts, lumber mill and hard work? A winning combination.
Hey guys, have considered saving the top and bottom slabs, the ones with straight milled edges and market them for Cabin, animal shelter and other uses. I’ve built several structures nail the slabs upright. I think hemlock would be idle and that stuff would sell like hot cakes. Also would cut your slab pile in half
Jade is the main attraction 😍
No she is underage, so she is just jailbait.
Whilst still quite young, she does have a real mixture of mature qualities about herself! A few hearts will get broken by this young lady when she starts choosing the lucky person to share her life with!
@@Gerald-hn6du very original
Love seeing the boss man and his teachable moments----please have him do more!!
Money is a terrible master but a excellent servant
Excellent. Very good call on rejecting that tie. Tie plants grade ties before creosoting and that would have been rejected at the grading process. Standard railroad cross ties are 8 1/2 feet in length. Grade ties are made from all hardwood. Oak being the best and is also the choice of wood for turnout and bridge timbers. All green ties are seasoned at the plant for 10 to 12 months before creosoting.
Wohoo nice to hear it from HBK. This guy knows what he's talking.
What better gift could you give these girls, than a great work ethic? That ethic will carry over into every facet of their lives. I look back at how my Dad taught me. He taught me to work hard, fast, and do a good job. That carried over into my whole life and career. Now, I am retired, and of course I rarely even think about this. But, when I see kids being trained up right and my heart just swells.
Yeah, agreed, you go Dad. Greetings from Essex UK 🤙🏽
Gotta love character. Man stands by his word
Just Beautifull!
and the wood is pretty nice too!
nice to see Jade's long flowing locks tied up out of the way of any of the spinny fast things! always remember girls "safety third" LMAO stay safe all
Agree with a lot the comments already about the Bossman. He is so much more chill than you might somehow expect. Watching Jade make those ties wearing those improbable shorts, I kept thinking that somewhere, R. Crumb might be watching, and I got a chuckle. I love her concentration and dedication to her craft. Having heard the Bossman reject that wonky log, it's clear the apple has not fallen far from the tree, no pun intended.
Playing with slow mo, fast mo, depth of field, focus, angles, framing, music and an interview with a moving subject all while making it entertaining - Brilliant!
It had it all!
Absolutely Jade's best video!
The only thing we have to sell is our word on quality products
It’s awesome to see young people doing quality work good job on raising your family
Great video again👍🏴🇬🇧
Nothing is wasted. Very cool. Thanks for sharing
Wow :)
Last week every one of you showed up, from the youngest to the oldest, Sam got a full video too, wich is awesome and now the Boss finally got a bigger segment too.
Keep up, you are doing cool!
Emerald... you remind me of a young Scarlet Johansson!... but, I'm sure you've NEVER heard this before lol!
The countryside, the beautiful scenery, the forest, the hills, lots of logs, and all those machines, all seemed like what I wanted in my life and one thing that would make it perfect if there were plenty of fishing spots.
ohhhhh life would be happy there.
It is so refreshing to see young adults who are not afraid of a little hard work and responsibility keep up the great work hopefully you young ladies will inspire other young people . love the videos keep them coming!!
That is some hard working girls ya have there.
I love videos with the boss! He's very knowledgeable, and I like his quality control
Very interesting on the reject logs according to the cracks and splits. Good slugging those logs around Jade! You deserve a raise!! 😀😀👍👍
Your videos make my day. So, “go ahead . . . make my day.”
That is freaking nuts!
Neat. My father had a woodmizer back in the 80's. My brothers and I helped him run it. We made railroad ties and decorative ties. It was called 7Wells. But then the environmentalists closed down huge swaths of the forest to logging. The big lumber companies like Weyerhaeuser, Crown Pacific, and Willammette Industries, panicked and began to buy up private timber holdings. Basically, my father couldn't get logs anymore and had to sell his mill.
Love hearing from the boss man, honesty and integrity. Pride in his work, quality product.
Always good to Boss Man, and total respect for taking pride in your product.
Thanks as always for sharing your beautiful family and wonderful life.
Very Educational listening to the BOSS.
More companies and workers need to have pride in what they are making/ providing
I mean a long time ago before things were really in massed produced. They took pride in work. But I guess to get the shelves filled so to speak, they did away with quality. So thank you and your girls
@@nathanrobinson7715 "They" also sent the manufacturing offshore. That will destroy the pride a workforce has, and when (if) they go to their next job they might not be as enthusiastic because of what happened with the last one.
That's why we should really support financially the ones that are still around.
Oh Jade, so beautiful...
Szia,nagyon szépek,és ügyesek vagytok.❤
Thank you again. Sure seems after more ties and all the shingles. Jade has cut on the LT15 she is or at least is becoming a Master of the LT15. Thank you for your explanation of why the first Tie is being rejected. Sir Bossman. Overall a very informative video I thank the entire crew and especially Roxy making sure Emerald is fine.
Thanks Chip. Talk to you soon.
Wow, the Boss Man makes an appearance in the video. Great explanation on why that one was rejected and added to the firewood pile. I presume that railroad ties are made from oak or other similar hardwood?
Most hardwoods are acceptable. No basswood or poplar. Boss Man.
@@KenBreon Are railroad ties still in high demand? Here in TN , a tie will bring $25
Stunning video
Thanks!
I am from the Williamsport area, so the scenery is very familiar looking. The Allegheny Mountains. I live in Maine now. Go a bit north of where I am now on the coast, you get into another version of the Appalachian Mountains. The deal is, though, they run north and south, not east and west.
Buddy of mine logs, I can always count on him stopping by on days like today after the rain haha, chases me out of the fields too but we needed it. Always plenty to do where it’s dry as well
Thanks 😎 great content as per usual... Awesome family...
I CAN NOT believe how Emerald looks identical to my future dream wife.. 😂😂😂😂. I’m messin “Boss Man”, well she is gorgeous, but I was obviously playin lol. I got my sawmill finally, almost ready to go but my tractor decided not to wanna play friendly so I only have to put the head on the track and tighten everything up and YAHOOOO I’ll be starting to cut down a BUNCH of Black Walnut. Love ya guys, keep the amazing videos going!!! I’ve learned a LOT from them, AND why I decided to take the plunge and get a mill.
Awesome nice to see jade. Father and Daughter working together nice.
Family operation? Looks like an amazing place and family with hard working daughters that are learning things in a good way!
Nice video... Learned something about railroad ties...Thanks again for making great videos.
Обожаю Нефрит! Она очень спокойная и женственная!! Молодцы ребята!!
Interesting video. I used to work at. The Durango & Silverton railroad. In South West Colorado. I remember moving and setting ties on the track. You all work very hard. I really enjoy your videos. I need to watch more. Thanks again
Your dad is amazing guy! Very refreshing to see! Its nice to seeing all your family working together!
Team work and family business 😅
I admire this way of handling wood with bare hands. I personally always fear to get splinters pinned into my flesh when doing so.
No slacking the Boss is on deck 😜
Джейд как всегда, самая милая и самая красивая. Люблю тебя.
Interesting information from the Boss Man. Look forward to see you guys build your business.
Love the videos keep up the good work
Thanks so much as well wonderful information too
Its like looking into the future. Seeing the hard work developing virtues, endurance, stoicism, meditation-grounding through repetitive process, and obviously healthy physical strength. The days that suck the most are the days that turn mortals into gods the following in days.💪
Emerald, other good video angles today, nicely done. The Boss Man did a great job explaining and Jade was working hard. North Carolina is forecasting lots of rain, too. I love everything about your family and watch everyday. Give Roxie a pat for me.
Love that cute doggie!!
Thanks for the comment. Boss Man.
More Jade; me more happy.
my favorite is cut offs.
My Goodness Gracias Dad Looks Like WWE Superstar "Shawn Michaels" 😍😍💪💪💪🤠🤠🤠
I really enjoyed your videos. I have a small manual mill and know first hand how much physical work your doing. Boys must watch out with your strength 😊
Awesome work Jade🙂
Great video and good job.
You leave the Pennsylvania station 'bout a quarter to 4. You read a magazine and you're in Baltimore. Dinner is in the diner
Nothing could be finner
Then to have your ham and eggs in Carolina.
All aboard the Chattanooga Choo Choo.
Just a little Glenn Miller for you Tuesday.
Peace and Ahev
Love the comment. Boss Man.
@@KenBreon thanks
@@KenBreon hey check this out, I just figured out why your channel was recommended. I just watch the episode q&a: answering questions about our family business. I'd already saw it awhile ago. A couple of weeks after I got my new phone number. They said Zach's age saying 25,23. That's the last 4 of my new number. My algorithm made a connection with that numbering phrase. That's cool.
Great video this mill rocks you know this is reality video when you see a guy wearing a hat like the boss man. I've got three or four of them just like that around my place for any occasion. Great to see the rain out here in north Cali it's 114 for the second day and no rain since spring
What a nice family operation.
I like the camera work, some great angles.
Thank you for these videos. I am learning from them.
As with us in Central Europe, the summer is slowly saying goodbye. Autumn - also a nice time!
Whoever got to watch construction of some building or repair of a bridge, etc as a child knows what I mean. Thank you. There's a reason we had Tonka toys as kids.
Makes me wanna go back to being a carpenter tbh. I've only done small projects since the 08 housing market crash
As always, great content.
amazing video as always, God bless u all
Interesting timing, just yesterday I commented on your pros and cons of hemlock video pointing out they're great for railroad ties. 🙂
Nice to see there are still folks out there that care about quality! The dimensional lumber I see these day's would have gone through the chipper 30 years ago when I worked in sawmills. The work ethic and skills the kids are being taught will lead them far in life! It is a shame the nuclear family like you all have has been destroyed by demorats!
After watching a few of these videos I now realize I would like to own a hydraulic grappling arm. I mean, I don’t specifically need one or anything but I’m imagining how awesome it would be to have one mounted in the bed of my truck. 😂😂😂 Just think of all the cool and hilarious shenanigans I could get up to!!
Now the railroads are using concrete sleepers more and more. Great video.👍
And if by magic a video appears
Thank you Emerald and family
Another fine piece of work right there 👍
Miss Jade is the cutest thing (sorry Miss Emerald, not my cup of tea). 😘
When watching her working (out) I hear smooth jazz. 🤩
Another great video with great information too! 👍
I hope jade always on your video....I really love jade...take care always....God bless....
Great video
Good video. Thanks for sharing ❤
The girls should take their parents out for a just-because dinner. They will love it.
That looked like a lot of work. Good luck. 👍
Another great video
Hey y'all happy Tuesday
Great video as usual, but u should have gave the dog more air time!!😂
Another good video glad to see boss man
Seems like he likes getting the chance to work with y'all when he can. And the puppy dawg enjoys bombing 💣 your appearance on your channel, cute friendly, cheerful and playful
Building that upper body strength
Great video.
Worked a RR line by hand about 4yrs in the early 80s,seems single track tie was 8’ x8”x6”…..shrinkage maybe?
heat generator. with all the recycle ♻️ and 🙏
Nice
great video awesome dog
Great video ladys
Well done! I really do enjoy watching your vids, Em, if you ever decide to leave the log yard, broadcasting is well within your dna!
