After seeing so much things made in China, I am so delighted to witness some authentic Made-in-USA stuff.
All the demos Austin did in this video were great to watch. Thank Austin for taking the time and offering. Made this a way better tour video.
This was such a fun video to watch, thanks for sharing!
That was awesome! I love seeing shops like this!
Agreed! It's a really cool small factory and the sheer volume of rims in there is staggering!
I saw this after I had already ordered my Velocity NoBS rims. Building my first wheelset is going to be a bit scary, but knowing I'll be rolling around on such lovingly made rims is getting be really excited!
I just bought some wheels with Velocity A23 rims. They look great and this makes me glad I went with Velocity. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome tour!! Thanks for the video!!!
I was looking for info on tubeless taping, and ended up watching this. Fascinating!
That the way to make quality rims. I am a fan of Velocity rims and they work amazingly well!!
My Ailerons are probably in the background in this video and that makes me happy. Making my white Blunt SS right now hopefully!!
Joe, it would be cool to get an update from Velocity, Paul, QBP and other US manufacturers/distributors with photos of their EMPTY warehouses!
I learned a lot,,,,, this is what America is all about,,, excellent job gentleman......🚴🏼♂️
Good to see fine motor skills being used. Reinforces the "handbuilt" nature of the rims...
Very cool video. I just mounted a pair of tires on my A23 rimmed wheels which will be going on a rebuild of a 1974 Viscount Aerospace GP. I didn't want to spend a ton of money but wanted nice wheels and after watching the video, I think these rims are exactly
what I wanted.
Awesome tour. Thanks!!!
I just bought a dually rim for the back of my Trek Stache, I kept breaking spokes on the original. Hope this one holds up better. Cant wait to try it out tomorrow. 👍👍
Awesome video. Nice to see how some bike brands are still keeping quality production in the US. You're killing it with the content. Thank you
Really cool and interesting
Thanks for this Video.
Great piece! Nice to see the 'how' of the brand.
Clem gets the goods!
nice one, super interesting
Great video!
How many times did he say "Thats awesome!"? :)
What can I say, there are lots of awesome things at Velocity USA.
That's what people say who have never seen manufacturing in a factory before.
@@robc8468 Not all manufactures will allow such a walk through and documentation.
I’ve had two sets of velocity rims built into custom wheels. I’m looking for a new set but you don’t really seem to have kept up with the new gravel trend of wider internal widths
I use to love Velocity when it was produced here in Australia.
Unfortunately for us when the manufacturing shifted to the US the prices sky rocketed and the quality of the product dropped.
I was also a bit surprised at the cost of a new wheelset from Velocity but I'm lucky to have an old deep-v set made in the old shop in Brizzy!
Didn't see the heat treatment in this video, maybe they never got the equipment from Ausjailia
Where can I get the custom fabricated CNC machine shown in this video.
Which company is manufacturing these machines?
Крутая мастерская!!!
Nice insight
Can I customer send in hubs and have you build them a set of wheels using the hubs?
I have an old Schwinn world sport in need of new rims.
good video!
Hi mate I just looking at you factory that make rims do sell rim abroad for private customers.
25:00 I always wanted a spoke cutter until I saw that these ones are around $7,000 🤣
So would powder coating weaken the rim then?
How much would a 29 inch rim cost for a motorized bike and what material would you recommend for the build of the rims front and back just a question oh and if it helps I weigh 230 235
What does it smell like in that factory?
Why do you wet the rollers during the rolling process? Minute 4
Lubrcation is needed for any metal forming dies due to the friction between the metal and die to prevent "metal galling".
Nice.
I'd like to have seen him whittle a Veloplug.
"you wanna roll one?"
nice
great 5s
Can you make tricycle wheels for me please I need hubs axle
9:10 Please dont used compressed air to clean bits of metal off a surface without safty glasses. Otherwise great yt.
I was waiting for a cliffhanger, but it never materialized.
I really want to see products developed and manufactured in the United States, because we know that American bicycles are great in terms of design and quality. In my country, Brazil, there are only Chinese products. It's sad because they don't have quality. Long live the United States.
Me wanting to extrude my own rims...
When Velocity were based in Queensland, Australia, I used to buy their rims all the time to build wheels in the shop I worked in. They were ok, but nothing special: they did the job. Now they're in the US, the last two rear wheels I built with them cracked at the spoke holes within 6 months, and I consider myself to be a careful wheelbuilder. I won't use Velocity any more.
If they started using eyelets in their design they'd be an awesome rim. Of course that requires significantly more tooling to do so.
Michigan where real products are still made by hardworking Americans in modern factories.
Pleasa healpa
Small American factories always look bare bones compared to European and Asian workshops. I get that the skill of the workers may be good, but the cleanliness and organization is not impressive. Place needs a 5S program.
Love my original Velocity A23 rims, but since they changed the A23"s internal rim profile nine years ago to work with tiubless, I stopped buying their products.
But you can load a normal clincher rubber too on A23, though it s tubeless friendly.
Украинец !!!!
Щедривкой себя выдал играя на колесе . ...24.10 :)
My shop saudia bicycle me like spoke treade machine by hand me like machine compny adres plesa helpa thank
I was all in until I saw the stupid sign at his wheel building station: "There is a place in the world for all God's creatures...next to the mashed potatoes." Nope.
This is brilliant - so now I know, thanks for sharing. However, the camerawork is crap and gave me a seizure
The dog is not wearing protective boots on his paws. Shame on you.
I wasn't sure about Velocity rims at first, but now I'm totally sold and going to place an order! Thank you so much for this video, love seeing the hand built process. Videos like this are very humanizing as to what work like this is all about!
