WOW! Rare Blue Flint Celt, Other Artifacts Recovered From Remote Site Raise More Questions!

  • This hunt finds us back in Lauderdale county with Al and his crew and
Mike with PineBeltRelics and our friend Will Lee on one of Al’s favorite permissions. It’s the site where Randy found the pre-form cache and just as before it did not disappoint. There were nine arrowheads, three drills, a flint celt and at least four other huge blades so there was no shortage of artifacts found. As with all sites there always seems to be more questions than answers and this one raises more than most. It seems to be a middle Archaic site with mostly Benton and Pickwick points but the oddity is the amount of huge debitage and all the huge hammerstones lying around. Could there have been an outcrop of TQ there and they were mining and spalling it off to make it easier to transport? Watch for yourself and let us know your thoughts in the comments. As always thanks for your support.

Good times and great vid Spike!! I’m glad you got footage of crossing that tree across the creek!! It’ll be good to be able to show my grandkids one day that while fat, I was still pretty daring and agile!! 🤣😂

lol I'll vouch for you Mike! You got those "Cadillac" reflexes! I would like to have gotten some more footage of crossing the tree. If Randy or Kenneth had been there and gotten down in the creek bed and filmed upward you could really have gotten the perspective it needed to show how high it is. Good luck to yall tomorrow buddy.

The only thing keeping me sane(kinda) is that the crappie have been hungry, almost all my best sites have been tilled up and rowed up for next year and so dry and dusty your feet sink down in it like mud and fill your shoes up with dirt crumbs. Finally we got a better than slight chance of rain for the next coupla days and I plan on walking till my feet give out then resting them sitting in my boat feeding jigs to slabs. Y’all found some great stuff once again, I’m hoping my year is half as good as last year and I’ll be satisfied, let it rain, let it pour, hand me my boots and don’t block the door! See Y’all

Killer day in the dirt again . I got a chance to dig over in Southwest Alabama a few years back . I found a little side notched point almost identical to the one Will found . .Good finds friends, if an archaic place where they covered a large area where at the same time it could have been a settlement and a hunting ground. Very interesting place. Here in the desert I have found places specifically such as settlements, others for hunting and others also with both activities. The different types of artifacts demonstrate this. Greetings to my friends, I really enjoyed this hunt.
